Troubleshooting
The following chart will assist you in finding and correcting minor
mechanical and electrical problems. If an engine problem is indicated,
consult your engine owner’s manual.
Some problems may require specialized skill and tools to correct them.
Consult your dealer.

Symptom Possible Cause
Engine will not crank
• Engine stop switch not connected
• Shift/throttle control in gear
• Main circuit breaker open
• Battery terminals corroded
• Weak battery
• Loose or corroded battery wiring
connections
• Engine problem
Engine cranks but
will not start
• No fuel in tank
• Fuel filter clogged
• Contaminated fuel
• Engine problem
