NOTICE
Weeds can sometimes be removed by shifting to NEUTRAL,
pausing a moment, then shifting to REVERSE to unwind the
weeds from the propeller.
Shallow Water Operation
Operating in shallow water presents a number of hazards. If the engine
strikes an underwater hazard, check for boat and engine damage. If the
engine vibrates excessively after striking an underwater obstruction, it may
indicate a damaged propeller.
Sand bars in narrow inlets are constantly shifting, making it difficult to mark
them with buoys. Sometimes, sand bars are indicated by waves as they
form into breakers when passing over the sand bar. If you ground the boat
on a sand bar, seek help from another boater or radio for help.
In coastal areas, tides can affect water level as much as 9 m (30 ft). Check
with local marinas or Coast Guard stations for tide tables and current
charts.
