3 Installing AP822iV2 and XP8i
This chapter provides all the information that users need to install Meru AP822iV2 and XP8i.
After user completing installation procedure, see the Meru System Director 6.1 Configuration
guide for detailed instructions on the various configuration options.
Follow all safety precautions mentioned in the “Safety Precautions” on page 14 section.

This section provides information that users should know before installing AP822iV2 and XP8i
Package Contents
The AP822iV2 and XP8i shipping package should contain the following. Please contact Meru,
if packages do not contain any of the following items.
Kensington Lock
The AP822iV2 and XP8i has an access slot at the back to support Kensington Lock. Users
can lock the AP with a standard security cable, such as those used to secure laptop comput-
ers. See “AP822 Kensington lock” on page 20 for location of AP822 Kensington Lock.
