4.2 Blade Setting
This band saw is factory set and supplied with a general
purpose blade for wood cutting. The blade setting is
checked by turning the upper band saw wheel by hand.
Ensure the blade runs in the centre of the rubber bandage
of the wheel.
Change tilt of the upper band saw wheel with the knurled
knob on the back of the upper band saw wheel housing
to change blade position.

4.3 Blade Speed Selection
This band saw model BAS 600 can be operated at blade
speeds between 410 m/min and 1025 m/min. The most
appropriate blade speed depends on the material to be
sawn and the type of saw blade used. It is recommended
to find the suitable blade speed by making trial cuts in
scrap material.
Change of saw blade speed
Caution! Change blade speed only with motor running.
Turn handwheel below the machine table to change the
blade speed.
clockwise = increases blade speed
counter-clockwise = decreases blade speed

4.4 Cutting Height Setting
The upper blade guide should always be set to within 5-
10 mm above the workpiece. To adjust, loosen the wing
nut, located on the upper wheel housing, and set the
height with the handwheel. Tighten wing nut after setting.

4.6 Saw Blade Changing
To change the blade start with removing the rip fence
carrier extrusion and lowering the blade guide (B) onto
the table. Then slacken the blade tension by turning the
handwheel (A). Put on gloves (!), then take blade off the
upper band saw wheel and pull it out of the blade guide
extrusion and the band saw frame.
Install fresh blade in reverse order.

4.7 Drive Belt Changing
Remove the cover on the motor side of the lower wheel
housing. Loosen the flange nut M6 (1) and turn the
handwheel (2) counter-clockwise until the belt has
slackened on the pulleys.
Change belt und tighten in reverse order.

To tilt, loosen the wing nut of the table trunnion assembly,
tilt the table to the required position and retighten the
wing nut.
Make trial cut in a piece of scrap wood to verify the setting
to the desired angle.
4.5 Saw Table Tilting
For bevel cuts the table can be tilted up to 45°.
Always replace the standard narrow slot table insert with
the wide slot table insert.
