12 3-/4-Jaw Chuck
Important!
The maximum workpiece diameter or cross section must not be exceeded. It opened too wide, the jaws are not securely
held by the internal gear, and can be ejected from the chuck body by centrifugal force, causing severe personal injury.
12.1 Mounting
The workpiece must rest fully against the body of the
chuck, so the chucks can grip the workpiece with their full
width.
12.2 Maximum Workpiece Diameter
The max. workpiece diameter for the 3-jaw chuck is
67 mm. With reversed chucks (see section 12.3) the
max. diameter is 125 mm.
The max. workpiece cross section for the 4-jaw chuck is
67 x 67 mm, with reversed chucks 125 x 125 mm.

After reversing check for proper operation. When installed correctly all jaws meet evenly in the centre.

12.3 Reversing the Jaws.
Screw the jaw chuck onto the spindle. Its locating pin
must sit in the hole of the reatining ring. Tighten the
clamping screw in the retaining ring.
If required, a workpiece can be mounted in a 3- or 4-jaw
chuck.
To install the chuck, first a retaining ring is mounted on
the headstock spindle.
To increase the chucking capacity the jaws can be reversed. It is important to install the reversed jaws in the correct
order, otherwise they will not be centered in the chuck. ‘Reinstall in the following sequence:
