STEP 1 -- CONNECT WIRES (continued)
If your vehicle requires a fuse tap:
A.
B.
Remove fuse panel cover. Pull the appropriate fuse for your vehicle listed in the chart on the previous page.
Test the fuse socket to determine the protected side on the fuse. Make note of the protected side. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent any
electrical short.
Cut the pin (silver end) off the wire. Strip the wire back 1/2". Connect the stripped end of wire to the 12 Volts switched wire from the new receiver.
Insert the clip (L-shaped brass end) of the wire onto the fuse prong and reinstall the fuse with the clip on the protected side.
Note: It is important that the clip is on the correct prong so that the line is protected.
When installing the receiver, route the wire from the fuse panel, behind the dash to the receiver cavity. Note: Make sure the wire is safely secured behind
the dash so that it does not interfere with vehicle operation.
When wiring and receiver installation is complete, reconnect the battery and test operation.
