I. II. III. IV. V. Start by lowering the tailgate and remove the (8) T30 torx head screws from the tailgate access panel. Once inner tailgate access panel is removed you will see rods connected to the tailgate handle, disconnect those rods from the tailgate handle by releasing them from the plastic retainers. Now remove the (2) 8mm bolts securing the tailgate handle to the tailgate and carefully remove the tailgate handle.
VI. VII. NOTE: Avoid areas that can damage the wires. Remove taillight and splice the red power wire from the camera’s harness into the reverse light’s 12v positive wire. This will trigger the camera to turn on when vehicle is placed in reverse. Attach the black ground wire to a metal non-painted surface. Wires can now be fully routed from the tailgate to the cab of the truck and to a video source.
VIII. IX. X. NOTE: If desired parking lines can be removed by attaching the green wires together. Carefully replace new tailgate handle in tailgate and secure the handle using the (2) 8mm bolts that were previously removed.
