21.2 Settings on the master flash unit
• Use the key to access, in succession, the settings for the master flash
unit M and the slave groups A, B, and C.
• While M, A, B or C is displayed, use the key to set the flash mode (TTL
or M). If no flash mode is displayed, the master or group is deactivated.
When the master is deactivated, it assumes a control function only and
does not contribute to the exposure.
• The and keys may be used in TTL and A flash modes to set flash
exposure corrections of from -3 EV to +3 EV in one-third increments. In M
mode the and keys are used to set partial light output levels.
• Now use the key to open the remote channel Ch and the zoom position
of the reflector, then use the and keys to enter the necessary set-
tings.
• Press to save your settings. If the key is not pressed, the settings will
be saved automatically after approximately 5 seconds.
The settings for the slave group C are visible only as they are being
entered, as the system does not allow them to appear on the display
panel of the master flash unit after they have been saved.

21.3 Settings on the slave flash unit
• Use the key to select, in succession, the settings for choice of slave
group („Group“), the remote channel („Channel“) and the reflector position
(„Zoom“). Use the and keys to set the desired slave group or remo-
te channel and the zoom position of the reflector.
The slave flash unit must be adjusted to the same remote channel as the
master flash unit! The slave operating mode (TTL remote or manual
remote) cannot be set on the slave flash unit, because this is controlled
automatically by the master flash unit!
• Press to save your settings. If the key is not pressed, the settings will
be saved automatically after approximately 5 seconds.
21.4 Testing remote operation
• Place the slave flash units in the desired positions for the shot.
• Wait for all of the flash units involved to become flash ready. The AF measu-
ring beam will also blink on the slave flash units when they are flash ready.
Activate audio signals (beep) if desired (see 7.2).
Press the manual firing button
on the master flash unit to fire a test flash.
The slave flash units will respond in succession, according to slave group, with
a test flash. If a slave flash unit fails to fire a test flash, check the settings for
remote channel and slave group. Correct the position of the slave flash unit so
that it is able to receive the light from the master flash unit.
If the modelling light function ML (see 7.8) is set on the master flash unit,
then a modelling light will be fired from the slave flash units simultane-
ously with the firing of the modelling light by the master.
