Figure 4.8 – Start a New Batch Dialog Box An explanation of the dialog box is given below: • • • • • Date – Automatically generated Number of CDs – Key in the number of CDs in the batch, or 0 to rip indefinitely.
Main User Guide/ Starting a New Batch 101-5-01-000 To determine what com port you are using, open device manager, then expand “Ports”, and look for the USB Serial Port, in the example below we can see it is COM3, so we would select COM3 from the list in Ripstation. • • • • • Source device – Used to select which drive to use. Main User Guide/ Starting a New Batch 101-5-01-000 The resulting increase in quality is somewhat subjective; a slower speed, higher quality setting of the quality slider is generally only recommended for challenging and very dynamic audio, with playback on high end audio equipment. For the vast majority of MP3 encoding with playback on low to mid-range audio equipment and portable music players, the default setting (shown above) is recommended. NOTE: Previous settings are saved from the last batch 4.6.
Main User Guide/ Starting a New Batch • • • • 101-5-01-000 Key in the conductor name Add cover art, click box then browse to image Click the OK button to save and continue or Click Skip to reject this CD and continue NOTE: Allowing manual keying in of CD information will slow down the encode process as the drive in question will NOT be used for ripping until the above information is keyed.
