Battery Replacement Battery Replacement Getting Maximum Battery Life 1. Prior to use, charge the Ellipse battery for 8 hours by connecting to utility power. This conditions the battery for long life. 2. After an outage, a few hours are required to reach a full recharge. Notes: 1. Ellipse is equipped with a lead-acid battery(s), which must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations. MGE will accept UPS and/or batteries for recycling free of charge.
