When Router is able to read the operating mode, Follow Radio
provides the greatest flexibility and ease of operation. The same
settings are available as with Fixed Mode but switching among
them is automatic based on the operating mode (and, optionally,
frequency). The current mode is displayed on the Ports tab.
This mode is translated to the VOICE, DIGITAL, FSK or CW
groups. The selected audio routing is indicated by a black frame
around the setting combo box.
– CW modes are CW and CW-R. The audio setting is
unimportant for CW as the microphone input is not used for
transmit.
– VOICE modes are: USB, LSB, AM and FM. The three
standard audio configurations (ACmA), (CmCmA), and
(CmCmCm) and two nonstandard (CmBA) and (ABA) for
SSTV.
– FSK modes are FSK, FSK-R, RTTY and RTTY-R. BBB is
selected for FSK.
– DIGITAL modes are: PKT, DIG and DATA. Router also
permits selecting DIGITAL settings for LSB, USB and FM if the operating frequency is in the “digital”
portion of the band as defined in the Digital Band Map. See Ports Tab – Radio Control for more
information.
For either fixed or follow radio switching, it is necessary to tell MK2R which
channel of the sound card to use for RADIO1 and which for RADIO2. This
is done with the Left / Right selector labeled Use line out channel. When
Left channel is assigned to RADIO1, RADIO2 is automatically assigned
Right channel and vice versa. Because there is no standard, you can
configure MK2R to match your software using this selector.
Perform the same Audio Switching configuration for RADIO2.
