User Guide 2 Getting Started 2.1 Insert SIM Card The X294 is a Dual SIM mobile phone allowing you to use two SIM Cards. To insert SIM card(s): 1. Switch off the mobile phone and remove the rear cover and battery. 2. Insert the SIM card correctly in the card slot(s) as shown below. 3. Finally, insert the battery and replace the rear cover of the mobile phone.
User Guide 2.2 Insert Memory Card To insert the memory card: 1. Switch off the phone and remove the rear cover and the battery. 2. insert the memory card as shown in the following diagram. Recommend ation: Use only compatible memory cards approved by Micromax. Incompatible cards may damage the slot or corrupt the data stored in the card.
User Guide 3 Basic Operations 3.1 Switch Phone ON/OFF To switch ON your phone, press and hold the End key for a few seconds. To turn OFF your phone, press and hold down the End key for a few seconds. If the phone lock has been activated, you need to enter the 4-digit password to unlock. (The preset unlock code is 0000.) If the SIM card has been inserted in the phone, and the related PIN code protection is activated, you need to enter the 4-8 digit password to unlock.
User Guide 3.3 Answer a Call Press the Answer key,, or select Options > Answer to answer a call. 3.4 Start a Call Conference You can talk with more than one person at the same time through call conference. 1. While on a call, dial another contact. Once the new call gets connected, the first call will be put on hold. 2. After this, press Options and then choose Conference. Note: This is network dependent and you may need to contact your network operator to activate this feature.

Caller Groups: Allows you to create a new caller group with common preferences. 4.1 Add New Contact You can add new contacts to the Phone List, SIM 1, SIM 2. Menu > Phonebook To add a new contact: 1. Select Menu> Phonebook>Add new contact. 2. Select any of the SIMs, or phone memory for saving the contact. 3. Enter the contact name and number. 4.
User Guide 4.3 Send Text Message Menu > Phonebook Highlight a number, press Options and then select Send Text me ssage. 4.4 Call a Contact Menu > Phonebook > Options > Call Search or highlight a contact in phonebook and make a call. Alternatively While in standby mode, just type in the desired number and press the Dial key. 4.5 Send Multimedia Message Menu> Phonebook> Options On the highlighted number, press O ptions and then select Send multi media message. 4.
User Guide 4.7 Blacklist a Contact Menu > Phonebook > Options > Add to Blacklist Allows you to blacklist the currently highlighted contact. 4.8 Whitelist a contact Menu > Phonebook > Options >Add to whitelist Allows you to whitelist the currently highlighted contact. 4.9 Mark Multiple Contacts Menu > Phonebook > Options > Mark several Allows you to mark single or several contacts to send SMS, vCard, man age contacts. 4.
User Guide 4.11 Phonebook Settings Menu > Phonebook> Options> Phonebook settings Through the phonebook settings, you can set various phonebook preferences such as: Speed Dial : Assign speed dial to desired numbers or activate/deactivate speed dial. My Nu mber: Edit my number. Extra Numbers: Add fixed dial numbers which lets you restrict the outgoing calls to only certain numbers. Memory Status: Check the memory status of the SIM and Phone.
User Guide Call: Call the desired entry Send text message: To write SMS to send to the number. Send multi media message: To write MMS to send to the number. Add to Blacklist: Add the number to the blacklist. Add to Whitelist: Whitelist the selected number. Edit before call: Edit the number before call. Delete: To delete the entry. Delete all: Delete all the call log entries. Mark several: Mark several call logs. Advanced: Including Call times/Text msg. counter/GPRS counter 5.
User Guide 5.3 View Received Calls Press the right or left navigation keys to access your Received calls.
User Guide 6 Messages 6.1 Write SMS Menu > Messages > Write message>Text message Compose and send SMS. Pressing Left key during/after writing the message gives you a host of text messaging options. 6.2 Write MMS Menu > Messages > Write message>Multimedi a message Compose and send MMS. Pressing Left key during/after writing the message gives you a host of MMS options. 6.3 Read a Message Menu > Messages > Inbox Allows you to read you received messages.

While highlighting a message, you can go to Options and forward, delete, sort, mark for deletion or copy, move or copy to phone or view details. While reading a message, you can select Left key to access the following.

User Guide 7 Multimedia 7.1 Take Photos Menu > Multimedia > Camera You can take good quality videos with your X294 Mobile phone. You have the following options under your video recorder. Use the Up and Down keys to navigate through these options. Use the Left and Right keys to choose the settings. 7.2 Image Viewer Menu > Multimedia > I mage viewer Use the image viewer to view images stored in the memory card or phone memory. 7.
User Guide 7.4 Play Videos Menu > Multimedia > Video Player When you highlight a video, you have the following options: Play: Play the video file. Refresh list: Refresh the video list. Setting: Enable or disable the List auto gen. Press 0 key while playing a video to display it in full screen mode. 7.5 Menu >Music The Micromax X294 comes with an inb uilt mu sic player that plays all your favorite mu sic stored in the me mory card.
User Guide Settings: Set some relevant parameters for the sound recorder. 7.7 Play FM Radio Menu > Multimedia > FM radio Your phone comes with an FM radio to let you listen to FM channels. Press the number keys on your keypad in accordance to the channel list. If this does not work, perform an auto search once. Press OK key to start/stop the radio. Press the # or * key to increase/decrease the volume. Press Options to use the various features of the FM radio.

Menu > File Manager> Options At the memory card level, pressing Left key allows you to: Open: Open the current file or folder. Format: Format the Memory card. Details: View the details of the memory card.

Please refer to Connectivity on how to connect to the Internet. 9.2 M! Zone Menu > M! Zone You can enjoy a host of entertaining services from here. 9.3 Google Menu > Google Press the key on the keypad to access Google. You need Internet connection to enjoy Google.

Note: In case your network provider does not send the data account and WAP settings, you can do WAP settings for on your own. 11.2 Data Account Menu > Connectivity> Data Account You can connect to the Internet via GPRS connection. For this you need to set up a data account. 1. Go to Menu> Connectivity. 2.

Selecting Menu > Bluetooth> Options gives you the following options: Power: Turn Bluetooth On/Off. Visibility: Set the visibility of your device against other Bluetooth devices. My Device: Display device model when connected. Search audio devices: Search for hands-free devices that supports Bluetooth.
User Guide 12 Settings Menu > Settings You can perform various settings for your mobile phone using this feature. 12.1 Set User Profiles Menu > Settings> User Profiles Set your user profile as well as customize that profile to suite your requirement. Your phone provides a set of default profiles including: General Silent Meeting Outdoor Power Save My style You can highlight any of the above profiles and press the OK key to activate that profile.
