Your phone provides many functions which are practical for daily use, such as a radio, hands-free loudspeaker, alarm clock, calculator, calendar, and more. Your phone can also connect to a PC, laptop, or other device using a data cable or the built-in IR port. To personalize your phone, you can set your favorite ring tones, create a go-to-menu, and select a Cut-Out color cover.
Welcome ■ Shared memory The following features in this device may share memory: contacts, text and multimedia messages, images, graphics, and ringing tones in gallery, calendar and to-do notes, games and applications. Use of one or more of these features may reduce the memory available for the remaining features sharing memory. For example, saving many calendar notes, may use all of the available memory. ■ Get the most out of this guide The following sections illustrate the various components of your phone. Familiarize yourself with these sections to help you understand the instructions that follow. This guide uses certain terms for the steps that you are asked to perform. • Press means to press and release a key quickly. For example, Press 7 means press the key on the keypad that is labeled with the number 7 and p q r s. • Press and hold means to press and hold a key for 2–3 seconds, then release the key.
Nokia 3205 phone at a glance Shortcuts You can go directly to almost any menu or submenu, as well as activate most features by using a shortcut. At the start screen, select Menu, then within 3 seconds, press the key or keys associated with the menu function you would like to view or activate. For example, to select the Meeting profile, select Menu 3-3-1 from the start screen (Menu > 3Profiles > 3Meeting > 1Activate). After a brief pause, the Meeting profile is activated.
2.Set up your phone ■ The antenna Your device has an internal antenna located towards the top of the phone. Hold the phone as you would any other telephone with the antenna area pointed up and over your shoulder. Note: As with any other radio transmitting device, do not touch the antenna unnecessarily when the device is switched on. Contact with the antenna affects call quality and may cause the phone to operate at a higher power level than otherwise needed.
Set up your phone Replace the battery 1. Position the battery so the gold-colored contacts match up with those on the phone. The battery label should be facing away from the phone. 2. Insert the battery, gold-colored contact end first, into the battery slot. 3. Push down on the other end of the battery to snap the battery into place. Replace the back cover • Slide the back cover toward the top of the phone until you hear a click and see the back cover release button. Charge the battery 1.
■ Connect the headset A compatible headset may be purchased with your phone or separately as an enhancement. (See Enhancements, 96 for information.) 1. Plug the headset connector into the Pop-Port™ connector at the bottom end of your phone. 2. Position the headset on your ear. With the headset connected, you can make, answer, and end calls as usual. •Use the keypad to enter numbers. •Press the Send key to place a call. •Press the End key to end a call.
Set up your phone Install the keymat and front cover 1. Remove the key mat from the old front cover and place it into the new front cover as shown. 2. Press the front cover and keymat against the phone and snap the front cover into place. Replace the battery and back cover See Replace the battery, 15 and Replace the back cover, 15 for instructions on replacing the battery and back cover. ■ Make a call Using the keypad 1. Enter the phone number (including the area code), and press the Send key.
Conference calling Conference calling is a network service that allows you to take part in a conference call with two other participants. 1. Make a call to the first participant. 2. With the first participant on the line, select Options > New call and press Select. 3. Enter the phone number of the second participant, or press Search to retrieve a number from the contacts list. 4. Press Flash. The first participant is put on hold. 5.
Set up your phone Adjust the volume • To increase the volume of a call, press the Scroll right key. • To decrease the volume of a call, press the Scroll left key. • When adjusting the volume, a bar chart appears in the display indicating the volume level. The loudspeaker You can use your phone as a loudspeaker during a call. Do not hold the phone to your ear during the loudspeaker operation. • To activate the loudspeaker, press Loudsp.. • To deactivate the loudspeaker during a call, press Handset.
Unlock the keypad Select Unlock with the Left selection key, then press * within two seconds. ■ Flashlight Your phone has a built-in flashlight that you can activate when the phone is in the standby mode or when there is a call in progress. To activate the flashlight: Press and releasethe * key. The light stays on until you press and release the * key again. You can also use the flashlight to alert you to an incoming call. For more information, ”Customize a profile” on page 50.
Text entry 3.Text entry You can use two methods for entering text and numbers: • Standard mode is the only way to enter text into such things as the contacts list, calendar notes, and to rename caller groups. • Predictive text input is a quick and easy method for writing messages, creating a calendar note, or making a to-do list. ■ Standard mode Text (Abc) • Press a key once to insert the first letter on the key, twice for the second letter, etc.
■ Predictive text input Predictive text input allows you to write messages quickly using your keypad and the phone’s built-in dictionary. It is much faster the standard mode method, because for each letter, you only press the corresponding key on your keypad once. Activate/deactivate At any text entry screen, press and hold Options. Predictive text is turned on and off, depending on its previous mode. OR 1. At any text entry screen, select Options > Predictive text and press Select. 2.
Text entry • Press the # key to switch predictive text on or off and to use predictive text in various modes.
4.Contacts list The contacts list can hold up to 500 contacts, with multiple numbers and text notes for each contact. The amount of numbers and text entries that you can save may vary, depending on length and the total number of entries in the contacts list. ■ Add new contacts Save a name and number 1. At the start screen, enter the phone number you wish to save. 2. Select Options > Save and press Select. 3. Enter the name and press OK. Save (only) a number 1.
Contacts list 4. Scroll to the address or note of your choice and press Select. 5. Enter the text for the note or address and press OK. Save multiple numbers and text items You can save different types of phone numbers and short text items per name to the contacts list. The first number you save for any entry is automatically set as the default, or primary number, but the primary number can always be changed. 1.
3. Select Options > Caller groups and press Select. 4. Scroll to the caller group to which you would like to add the name and press Select. Options 1. At the start screen, select Contacts > Caller groups and press Select. Family, VIP, Friends, Business, and Other are the available caller groups. 2. Use the Four-way scroll key to highlight a group and press Select to display the following caller group options: Rename group—Rename the group to your preference.
Contacts list 3. Enter the new number, or press Search to retrieve a number from the contacts list, and press OK. 4. Enter a name for the entry and press OK. Delete 1-touch dialing numbers 1. At the start screen, select Contacts > 1-touch dialing and press Select. 2. Scroll to the 1-touch dialing location you wish to delete and press Options. 3. Scroll to Delete and press Select. 4. Press OK to delete the key assignment. ■ Edit contacts list entries 1.
1-touch dialing—Add the contact to your 1-touch dialing list. Edit name—Edit the name of the contact. View name—View the name of the contact. Delete—Delete the entire contact entry from your contacts list. 4. Edit the option to your preference and press OK. ■ Delete contacts list entries 1. At the start screen, select Contacts > Delete and press Select. 2. To delete individual entries, scroll to One by one and press Select. 3. Scroll to the entry you wish to delete, press Delete > OK to confirm. 4.
Contacts list Search for a name 1. At the start screen, press the Scroll down key to display the contents of your contacts list. 2. Press the key which corresponds to the first letter of the name for which you are performing a search. 3. Scroll up and down to select a contact and press Details to view the details. Configure settings You can select how the contacts appear in your contacts list and view the amount of memory used or available in your phone. 1.
2. If you selected Via infrared (and the entry has multiple subentries), select Primary number or All details and press Select. 3. If you selected Via text message (and the entry has multiple subentries), select Primary number or All details and press Select. 4. Enter the number for your recipient or press Search to retrieve a number from your contacts list. 5. Press OK and the business card is sent. Receive a business card using IR 1.
Messages (Menu 1) 5.Messages (Menu 1) If you have subscribed to a messaging service through your wireless provider, you can send and receive messages to compatible phones that also subscribe to a compatible message service. You may also be able to send and receive picture messages, enhanced messages, multimedia messages and e-mail messages. Note: When sending messages, your device may display the words “Message sent.
2. Enter the recipient’s phone number, or press Search to retrieve a number from your contacts list, and press OK. After a brief pause, the recipients list will be displayed. 3. After a brief pause, the recipients list will be displayed. 4. Press Options, scroll to Use template and press Select. 5. Scroll to one of the available templates and press Select. 6. Enter the text into your new message and press Options > Send and press Select.
Messages (Menu 1) Exit editor—Save the message to your archive automatically and leave the message editor. Insert contact—Insert a name from your contacts list into your message. Insert number—Insert a phone number or find a phone number in the contacts list. Use template—Insert a predefined template into your message. Insert picture—Insert a picture from the Gallery folder. Edit word/Insert word—Enter or edit the text of a new word that might not appear in the predictive text dictionary.
Settings When the message memory is full, your phone cannot send or receive any new messages. However, you can set your phone to automatically replace old messages in the Inbox and Sent items folders when new ones arrive. 1. At the start screen, select Menu > Messages > Text messages > Message settings > Other settings and press Select. 2. Scroll to the setting you wish to change and press Select. Message font size—Scroll to Small font or Large font and press Select.
Messages (Menu 1) Using special (Unicode) characters take up more space. If there are special characters in your message, the indicator may not show the message length correctly. Before the message is sent, the phone will tell you if the message exceeds the maximum length allowed for one message. Cancel sending by pressing Cancel or save the message in the inbox. ■ Multimedia messages A multimedia message (MMS) is a network service.
3. Choose the image or sound and press Insert. 4. Press Options > Send to number, Send to e-mail or Send to many, and press Select. 5. Enter the number of the recipient or the e-mail address and press Select. Read and reply When a multimedia message is being received, appears. Once the message has been fully downloaded, and Multimedia message received appear. 1. To view the message, press Show. 2. To view the message later, press Exit > No when asked to discard. 3.
Messages (Menu 1) Exit editor—Save the message to your archive automatically and leave the message editor. Insert word/Edit word—Enter or edit the text of a new word that might not appear in the predictive text dictionary. Insert symbol—Insert a special character into your message. Predictive text—Choose a predictive text language and turn predictive text on or off. Matches—View matches found in the dictionary for the word you are trying to use.
Incoming multi- media messages—Select Retrieve to receive multimedia messages or Ask first to give you the option of accepting multimedia messages. Allow advertisements—Allows you to enable or disable reception of automatic multimedia advertisements. ■ Voice messages If you subscribe to voice mail, your wireless provider will furnish you with a voice mailbox number. You need to save this number to your phone to use voice mail.
Messages (Menu 1) • At the start screen, select Menu > Messages > Voice messages > Listen to voice messages and press Select. Once you connect and the prerecorded greeting begins, follow the automated instructions to listen to your voice messages. Automate voice mail You can insert special characters called “dialing codes” into phone numbers such as voice mail, and save the number to a 1-touch dialing location.
Setup voice mail with dialing codes 1. At the start screen, press Contacts > 1-touch dialing, and press Select. 2. Scroll to an empty 1-touch dialing slot and press Assign. 3. Enter your voice mailbox number, including the area code. 4. Refer to dialing codes and enter any codes as necessary using the information that you wrote down from *** 'Setup voice mail with dialing codes' on page 43 ***.
Messages (Menu 1) Write and send One picture message is generally equivalent in size to three text messages. When you insert a picture into a message, you’ll have enough remaining space for about 121 characters in the message. If you try and insert a picture into a message that is almost full of text, a beep sounds and you are prompted to delete some text before proceeding. 1. At the start screen, select Menu > Messages > Text messages > Create message > Text > Edit message and press Select. 2.
View a picture message When you receive a picture message, your phone beeps and 1 message received appears in the display as well the message icon ( ). 1. Press Show to view the picture message, or press Exit to move it to your inbox. 2. If you have more than one picture message, scroll to the message of your choice and press Select to view the message. When you have unopened picture messages in your inbox, upper left corner of the start screen as a reminder. is shown in the 3.
Messages (Menu 1) Write and send Use “Write and send” on page 23 to create a text message or Write and send, 38 to create a multimedia message. Select List recipients > Add e-mail and enter the e-mail address, or press Search to recall an e-mail address from the contacts list. Read and reply Your service provider may be able to route e-mail messages to your phone, which appear as text messages when you receive them.
Inbox folder Messages are automatically stored in the inbox after they have been read or if you press Back when 1 message received appears on the start screen. Sent items folder Messages that you have created but have not sent are automatically stored in sent items. Archive folder Store messages that have been read in the Archive folder. Templates folder Pictures and prewritten templates are stored in the Templates folder. Preloaded templates can be edited and customized.
Messages (Menu 1) Delete a folder Only folders created in My folders can be deleted. The Inbox, Sent items, Archive, and Templates folders are protected. When you delete a folder, all messages in the folder are also deleted. 1. At the start screen, select Menu > Messages > Text messages > My folders and press Select. 2. Scroll to the folder you wish to remove and select Options > Delete folder and press Select. 3. Press OK to delete or Back to exit.
6.Call log (Menu 2) Call log stores information about the last 30 missed, 30 received, or 30 dialed calls. It also adds the total duration of all calls. When the number of calls exceed the maximum, the most recent call replaces the oldest. Whether viewing missed, received, or dialed calls, the menu options are the same: Call time—Display the date and time of the call. Send message—Send a message to the number. View number—Display the number. Use number—Edit the number and associate a name with the number.
Call log (Menu 2) ■ View received calls Received calls are calls that have been answered. 1. At the start screen, select Menu > Call log > Received calls and press Select. 2. Scroll to a name or number and press Options. 3. Scroll to an option and press Select to view or activate the option. ■ Dialed numbers Dialed calls are previous numbers you have dialed from your phone: 1. At the start screen, press the Send key. OR At the start screen, select Menu > Call log > Dialed numbers and press Select. 2.
■ Duration of calls Note: The actual time invoiced for calls and services by your service provider may vary, depending on network features, rounding off for billing, taxes, and so forth. Last call At the start screen, select Menu > Call log > Call timers > Duration of last call > Details for more information. Dialed calls At the start screen, select Menu > Call log > Call timers > Duration of dialed calls > Details for more information.
Call log (Menu 2) Note: The actual time invoiced for calls and services by your service provider may vary, depending on network features, rounding off for billing, taxes, and so forth. 1. At the start screen, select Menu > Call log > Data/fax calls and press Select. 2. Scroll to one of the following options: Last sent data/fax—View the size (KB) of the last send data/fax call. Last received data/fax—View the size (KB) of the last received data/fax call.
7.Profiles (Menu 3) Profiles define how your phone reacts when you receive a call or message, how your keypad sounds when you press a key, and more. Ringing options, keypad tones, and other settings for each of the available profiles can be left at their default setting, or customized to suit your needs. The following profiles are available: Normal, Silent, Meeting, Outdoor, and Pager. Profiles are also available for enhancements such as a headset and car kit.
Profiles (Menu 3) Note: Timed profiles can be set up to 24 hours in advance. 1. At the start screen, select Menu > Profiles and press Select. 2. Scroll to the profile you wish to activate and set for timed expiration and press Select. 3. Scroll to Timed and press Select. 4. Enter the time for the profile to expire and press OK.
8.Settings (Menu 4) Use this menu to set or change the Right selection key (the Go to Menu) settings, time and date settings, call settings, phone settings, display settings, tone settings, enhancement settings, security settings, and to restore the factory settings. ■ Right selection key settings You can change the function of the Right selection key on your phone so that your most frequently used functions can be quickly accessed from the start screen. Choose functions 1.
Settings (Menu 4) 4. Press Done > Yes to save the changes. ■ Call settings Set location info sharing Location info sharing is a network service. See Network services, 6 for more information. If your wireless service provider supports this feature, then location info sharing allows the phone to share position information over the network. For calls to emergency numbers, this position information may be used by the emergency operator to determine the position of the phone.
Automatic redial Occasionally, your network may experience heavy traffic, resulting in a “fast” busy signal when you dial. With automatic redial activated, your phone redials the number up to 10 times, and notifies you once the network is available. At the start screen, select Menu > Settings > Call settings > Automatic redial > On or Off and press Select. Activate 1-touch dialing You can activate or deactivate 1-touch dialing. For more information, see Set up 1touch dialing, 26.
Settings (Menu 4) Prefix+ phone no.+ card no.—Dial the prefix (numbers that must precede the phone number) and phone number you want to dial, then card number (+ PIN if required) 5. Enter the required information (access number or prefix and card number) and press OK to confirm your entries. 6. Scroll to Card name and press Select. 7. Enter the card name and press OK. At the start screen, select Menu > Settings > Call settings > Data/fax calls > Incoming data/fax call > Normal, Data calls only, or Fax calls only and press Select: Normal—The phone receives incoming calls as usual. Data calls only—The phone receives only data calls. Fax calls only—The phone receives only fax calls. 2.
Settings (Menu 4) Note: When keyguard is on, it may be possible to dial the emergency number programmed into your phone. Key in the emergency number and press the Send key. The number is displayed only after you have keyed in its last digit. Touch tones Touch tones, or DTMF tones, are the tones that sound when you press the keys on your phone’s keypad. You can use touch tones for many automated dial-up services such as banking and airlines, or for entering your voice mailbox number and password.
2. Enter a note (up to 44 characters). Press the * key to display and select from available special characters. 3. When you are finished, press Options > Save, and press Select. Scroll to Delete and press Select if you want to delete the previous text and begin creating another welcome note. Help text Your phone displays brief descriptions for most menu items. When you arrive at a feature or menu, pause for about 10 seconds and wait for the help text to display.
Settings (Menu 4) ■ Time and date settings Time Show/hide the clock At the start screen, select Menu > Settings > Time settings > Clock > Show clock or Hide clock and press Select. Set the time 1. At the start screen, select Menu > Settings > Time settings > Clock > Set the time and press Select. 2. Enter the time (in hh:mm format) and press OK. 3. Scroll to am or pm and press Select.
Set the auto-update of date and time Auto-update is a network service. See Network services, 6 for more information. If your wireless service provider supports this feature, then you can allow the digital network to set the clock, which is useful when you are out of your home area, for instance when you have traveled to another network or time zone. At the start screen, select Menu > Settings > Time settings > Auto-update of date & time > On, Confirm first, or Off and press Select.
Settings (Menu 4) 1. At the start screen, select Menu > Settings > Display settings > Color schemes and press Select. 2. Scroll to the color scheme of your choice and press Select. Choose a banner Banner is a network service. See Network services, 6 for more information. If your wireless service provider supports this feature, then you can choose whether the display shows the operator logo when the phone is in the idle state.
■ Enhancement settings The Enhancement settings menu is shown only if the phone is or has been connected to a compatible enhancement. At the start screen, select Menu > Settings > Enhancement settings > Headset, Handsfree, TTY/TDD, or Music stand and press Select. Handsfree Scroll to the option of your choice and press Select to enter the option’s submenu and modify its settings. Default profile—Choose the profile you wish to be automatically activated when your phone is connected to a car kit.
Settings (Menu 4) TTY/TDD In addition to the Nokia phone, you will need the following for TTY/TDD communication: • A TTY/TDD device that is cellular ready or cellular compatible. • A cable for connecting the TTY/TDD to your Nokia 3205 phone, usually supplied by the manufacturer of the TTY/TDD device. Set up the TTY/TDD profile You can connect your phone directly to the TTY/TDD device. In order for your phone to recognize the TTY/TDD, you will need to set up the TTY/TDD profile.
Music stand Scroll to the option of your choice and press Select to enter the option’s submenu and modify its settings. Default profile—Choose the profile you wish to be automatically activated when your phone is connected to the music stand. Automatic answer—Calls are answered automatically after one ring when the phone is connected. Scroll to On or Off and press Select. Lights—Choose to keep the phone lights always on, or to shut off automatically after several seconds.
Settings (Menu 4) Lock now immediately turns on the phone lock feature. Off immediately turns off the phone lock feature. If you selected On power-up or Lock now, you must enter your lock code before the phone will function normally. Once the lock code has been accepted, your phone functions normally. Important: Call not allowed is displayed if you attempt to place a call while phone is locked. To answer a call with phone lock on, press Answer or the Send key.
4. Reenter the new lock code for verification and press OK. Note: When you change your lock code, make sure you store it in a safe place, away from your phone. Avoid entering access codes similar to emergency numbers to prevent accidental emergency calls. Restrict calls Call restriction is a network service. See Network services, 6 for more information. If your wireless service providers supports this feature, then you can restrict the calls your phone can make and receive.
Settings (Menu 4) 2. Enter the current security code (default is 12345) and press OK. 3. Enter the new security code (up to 10 characters) and press OK. 4. Enter the new security code again and press OK. Voice privacy Voice privacy is a network service. See Network services, 6 for more information. If your wireless service provider supports this feature, the voice privacy feature protects the privacy of your current phone conversation from other callers placing phone calls on your same network.
Call forwarding Call forwarding tells your network to redirect incoming calls to another number. Call forwarding is a network service and may not work the same in all networks, so contact your wireless provider for availability. Activate Note: All options listed may not appear in the display. Contact your wireless provider for more information. 1. At the start screen, select Menu > Settings > Network services > Call forwarding and press Select. 2.
Settings (Menu 4) Call waiting If your wireless provider supports this feature, call waiting notifies you of an incoming call even while you are in a call. You can then accept, reject, or ignore the incoming call. 1. During a call, press Answer or the Send key to answer the waiting call. The first call is put on hold. 2. Press the End key to end the active call.
9.Network (Menu 5) The menu options you see in your phone are based on your service provider’s network. The network determines which options actually appear in the phone’s menu. Check with your service provider for more information. The Network menu allows you to customize the way your phone chooses a network in which to operate while you are within or outside of your primary or home system. Your phone is set to search for the most cost-effective network.
Network (Menu 5) ■ Mode You can choose whether your phone uses digital or analog service. 1. At the start screen, select Menu > Network > Mode and press Select. 2. Scroll to one of the service options and press Select: Digital preferred—The phone works in digital mode, but will also work in analog mode when digital mode is unavailable. Digital only—The phone only works in digital mode. Analog only—The phone only works in analog mode.
10.Radio (Menu 6) The FM radio uses the wire of the HDS-3 Stereo headset as an antenna. A compatible headset needs to be attached to the device for the FM radio to function properly. Note: Listen to music at a moderate level. Continuous exposure to high volume may damage your hearing. ■ Turn on and off 1. To turn on the radio, at the start screen, select Menu > Radio and press Select. 2. To turn off the radio, press and hold the End key.
Radio (Menu 6) ■ Save a channel You can save a preset station to any one of 20 locations in memory, and scroll to tune to that station with the radio on. 1. With the radio on, scroll to start the channel search. Searching stops when a channel is found. 2. To save the channel, select Options > Save channel and press Select. 3. Enter a name for the channel and press OK. 4. Scroll to an (empty) location to save the channel and press Select.
11.Camera (Menu 7) With the phone’s built-in camera, you can take a photo and save the photo to the Gallery menu or attach the photo to an entry in your contacts list. The camera lens is on the back of the phone, and the display of the phone works as a viewfinder. The camera produces JPEG images. Note: The camera lens is located on the back of the phone. This lens may be covered with a piece of protective tape. You should remove this tape before using the camera. ■ Take a photo 1.
Camera (Menu 7) Change mode—Change from Standard photo to Portrait photo or vice versa. Set contrast—Use the Scroll right key or Scroll left key to adjust the contrast of the captured photo. Set as wallpaper—Set the captured photo as your phone’s wallpaper. Details—View the Name, Size, Date, Time, Resolution, Format, or Protected of the photo. ■ Self-timer You can set the timer on the camera to delay for approximately 10 seconds before capturing the photo. 1.
12.Gallery (Menu 8) You can save pictures and ringing tones to folders in the gallery, or create folders of your own and save them there. You can download images and tones using MMS, web sites, or Nokia PC Suite. ■ Open the gallery At the start screen, select Menu > Gallery and press Select. The following submenus are displayed: View folders—Explore the folders in the gallery menu. See View folders ihn the following section for more info. Add folder—Add a folder of your own.
Games (Menu 9) 13.Games (Menu 9) Challenge yourself or a friend to one of the fun games in your phone. Note: Some menus listed are network services. Contact your wireless provider for more information. ■ Play a game 1. At the start screen, select Menu > Games > Select game and press Select. 2. Scroll to a game and press the Send key. 3. Scroll to one of the following options (if supported by the particular game) and press Select: New game—Launches a new game.
14.Voice (Menu 10) ■ Voice dialing You can dial up to 25 stored numbers using voice dialing. Before using voice tags, note that: • Voice tags are not language dependent. They are dependent on the speaker’s voice. • You must say the name exactly as you said it when you recorded it. • Voice tags are sensitive to background noise. Record voice tags and use them in a quiet environment. • Very short names are not accepted. Use long names and avoid similar names for different numbers.
Voice (Menu 10) Dial a number 1. Press and hold Contacts (or Go to). 2. When you hear several beeps and Speak now appears, release the key. 3. Pronounce the voice tag clearly into the microphone. When the phone finds the voice tag, Found: appears, and the phone automatically dials the number. If the phone does not locate a number or recognize the voice tag, No match found appears. Voice tags After you have associated a voice tag to a contact, you can choose one of the following options: Play back 1.
■ Voice commands You can set as many as five voice commands, which allow handsfree operation of certain phone features. Add a voice tag Before using voice commands, you must first add a voice tag to the phone function. 1. At the start screen, select Menu > Voice > Voice commands and press Select. 2. Scroll to the phone function you wish to tag (Profiles, Voice mailbox, Radio, Infrared, Voice recorder or Call log) and press Select. 3.
Voice (Menu 10) ■ Voice recorder This feature allows you to record pieces of speech or sound with your phone and listen to them later. The total available time is 180 seconds if no memos have been stored. The maximum length of a recording depends on how much memory remains available. Record speech or sound 1. At the start screen, select Menu > Voice > Voice recorder > Record and press Select. 2. After the recorder start tone is heard, begin recording speech or sound. 3.
15.Minibrowser (Menu 11) Minibrowser is a network service. See Network services, 6 for more information. Your phone has a built-in browser you can use to connect to selected services on the mobile internet. If your wireless service provider supports this feature, then you can view weather reports, check news or flight times, view financial information, and much more. The web browser on your phone can display WAP-based content. Your device may have some bookmarks loaded for sites not affiliated with Nokia.
Minibrowser (Menu 11) Phone keys • To browse the WAP site, press the Scroll up key or the Scroll down key. • To select a highlighted item, press Select. • To enter letters and numbers, press a key from 0–9. • To enter special characters, press the * key. Receive a call while online Depending on your wireless service provider, you may still be able to receive a voice call while using the WAP browser. • To answer the incoming call, press the Send key. • To reject the incoming call, press the End key.
16.Organizer (Menu 12) Your phone contains features to help organize your everyday life, including an alarm clock, calendar, to-do list, calculator, countdown timer, and calorie calculator. ■ The alarm clock Set an alarm The alarm clock is based on the phone clock. It sounds an alert any time you specify and even works if the phone is turned off. If an alarm has not been set 1. At the start screen, select Menu > Organizer > Alarm clock > Alarm time and press Select. 2.
Organizer (Menu 12) If the alarm time is reached while the phone is switched off, the phone switches itself on and starts sounding the alarm tone. If you press Stop, the device asks whether you want to activate the phone for calls. Press No to switch off the device or Yes to make and receive calls. Do not press Yes when wireless phone use may cause interference or danger. Turn an alarm off At the start screen, select Menu > Organizer > Alarm clock > Alarm time > Off and press Select.
1. Go to the date for which you want to set a reminder. (See Go to a date, 85 for more information.) 2. From the monthly view (with the go to date highlighted), select Options > Make a note and press Select. 3. Scroll to one of the following note types and press Select: Meeting—You are prompted to enter a subject, location, and a start/end time. You are then given the option to set an alarm. Call—You are prompted to enter a phone number, a name, and the time. You are then given the option to set an alarm.
Organizer (Menu 12) Make a note—Create a new note for the selected date. Delete—Delete the note. Edit—Edit the note. Move—Move the note to another date on your calendar. Repeat—Enable the note to recur on a regular basis (daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and yearly). Go to date—Jump to another date on your calendar. Send note—send the note to another device via Infrared, text message, or in vCal format. Copy—Copy the note. You can then paste the note to another date.
8. Scroll to Add number and press Select. 9. Enter the number for the recipient, or press Search to retrieve a number from the contacts list, and press OK. 10. Press Options > Send and press Select. Receive notes When you receive a Calendar note, your phone displays Calendar note received. You can then save the note in your Calendar and set an alarm for any date and time. View notes 1. When your phone displays Calendar note received, press Show. 2. Scroll to view the entire message, if necessary.
Organizer (Menu 12) ■ The calculator The calculator in your phone adds, subtracts, multiplies, divides, calculates the square and the square root and converts currency values. Note: This calculator has a limited accuracy and is designed for simple calculations. 1. At the start screen, select Menu > Organizer > Calculator and press Select. 2. Enter the first number in the calculation. Press the # key for a decimal point if necessary.
• After 30 seconds the timer alert expires automatically. Change the time After you have set the timer, you can change the time. 1. At the start screen, select Menu > Organizer > Countdown timer > Change time and press Select. 2. Enter the new time and press OK. 3. Leave the note as it was, or enter a new note and press OK. Stop the timer before the alarm sounds After you have set the timer, you can stop the timer.
Organizer (Menu 12) 1. At the start screen, select Menu > Organizer > Stopwatch > Split timing > Start. 2. Press Split to note the lapsed time. The timer continues to run. The split time appears below the running time. If you split the time more than once, the new measured time appears at the beginning of the list. You can scroll to see previous measured times. 3. Press Stop to end the split timing. To reset the clock, select Options > Reset and press OK.
Operation note If you press the End key and return to the start screen, the clock continues to run in the background and the icon appears in the upper left corner of the screen. To return to the stopwatch screens: 1. At the start screen, select Menu > Organizer > Stopwatch >Continue and press Select. 2. To stop the clock, press Stop. ■ The calorie calculator The calorie calculator estimates the amount of energy used in various physical activities. The energy used depends on age, weight, and gender.
Organizer (Menu 12) Edit and delete activities 1. To edit activities, press Options while in the Activities menu. 2. You can now add a new activity, edit an existing one, count the total calorie amount, or delete an activity. 3. To delete all activities at once, select Menu > Organizer > Calorie calculator > Delete all > OK.
17.Applications (Menu 13) Applications is a network service. See Network services, 6 for more information. If your wireless service provider supports this feature, you will find useful Java utilities pre-installed on your phone. Also, you can manage and download new Java applications that may be offered by your wireless provider. ■ Launch 1. At the start screen, select Menu > Applications > Select application and press Select. 2.
Applications (Menu 13) PC Suite Use the Java Application installer from PC Suite to download the applications in your phone. ■ Memory status You can view the size of memory available for game and application installations. At the start screen, select Menu > Applications > Memory and press Select.
18.Enhancements Check the model number of any charger before use with this device. This device is intended for use when supplied with power from ACP-12. Caution: Use only batteries, chargers and enhancements approved by Nokia for use with this particular model. The use of any other types may invalidate any approval or warranty, and may be dangerous. The available scientific evidence does not show that any health problems are associated with using wireless phones. There is no proof, however, that wireless phones are absolutely safe. Wireless phones emit low levels of radiofrequency energy (RF) in the microwave range while being used. They also emit very low levels of RF when in the stand-by mode.
FDA belongs to an interagency working group of the federal agencies that have responsibility for different aspects of RF safety to ensure coordinated efforts at the federal level.

The research done thus far has produced conflicting results, and many studies have suffered from flaws in their research methods. Este manual emplea ciertos términos para seguir las instrucciones. • Oprima significa oprimir y soltar una tecla rápidamente. Por ejemplo, Oprima 7 significa oprimir la tecla que corresponde al número 7 y las letras “p, q, r, s”.
El teléfono Nokia 3205 El método de desplazamiento 1. En la pantalla inicial, seleccione Menú, luego desplácese por los menús principales usando la tecla direccional de cuatro vías. 2. En un menú, oprima Seleccionar (la tecla de Selección izquierda) para acceder a los submenús. • Oprima Atrás (la tecla de Selección derecha) para regresar al menú anterior. • Oprima la tecla Finalizar para regresar a la pantalla inicial desde cualquier menú o submenú.
2. Configurar su teléfono ■ La antena Su dispositivo tiene una antena interna ubicada en la parte superior del teléfono. Sujete el teléfono como de costumbre, con la antena hacia arriba sobre su hombro. Nota: Al igual como sucede con cualquier dispositivo transmisor, la antena no debe tocarse sin necesidad cuando el teléfono está encendido. El contacto con la antena afecta la calidad de la llamada y puede hacer que el teléfono funcione con una potencia más alta de la necesaria.
Configurar su teléfono Retirar la batería Tras quitar la cubierta posterior, ponga su dedo en la ranura de agarre y levante la batería de su compartimiento. Cambiar la batería 1. Coloque la batería de manera que los contactos dorados estén alineados con los del teléfono. La etiqueta de la batería debe quedar visible. 2. Inserte la batería, el extremo con los contactos primero, en el compartimiento de la batería. 3. Presione en el otro extremo de la batería para colocarla en su lugar.
■ Apagar o encender su teléfono 1. Para encender o apagar su teléfono, mantenga oprimida la tecla de encendido en la parte superior del teléfono durante al menos 3 segundos. 2. Ingrese el código de seguridad si es necesario y oprima OK. Consulte Código de seguridad, pág. 72 para obtener más información. ■ Conectar el auricular Se puede comprar un auricular compatible con su teléfono o a la venta como accesorio. (Consulte Accesorios, pág. 102 para obtener información.) 1.
Configurar su teléfono Retirar la cubierta delantera • Tire suavemente el botón de la cubierta delantera del teléfono y retírela. Instalar el teclado y la cubierta frontal 1. Retire el teclado de la cubierta frontal que reemplazará y póngalo en la nueva, como se muestra. 2. Oprima la cubierta delantera y el teclado contra el teléfono y coloque la cubierta delantera en su lugar. Usar el último número marcado 1. En la pantalla inicial, oprima la tecla Enviar para mostrar los últimos 30 números marcados. 2. Desplácese al número (o nombre) que desea volver a marcar y oprima la tecla Enviar. Llamadas de conferencia Las llamadas de conferencia es un servicio de red que le permite participar en una conferencia con otros dos participantes. 1. Llame al primer participante. 2. Con el primer participante en la línea, seleccione Opciones > Llamada nueva y oprima Seleccionar. 3.
Configurar su teléfono Contestar una llamada con el teclado bloqueado Para contestar una llamada con el teclado bloqueado, simplemente oprima la tecla Enviar. Durante la llamada, todas las opciones funcionan como de costumbre. Cuando finaliza o rechaza la llamada, el teclado se bloquea automáticamente. Consulte Bloqueo de teclas, pág. 20 para obtener detalles. Cuando el teléfono está bloqueado, aún es posible hacer llamadas al número de emergencia programado en su teléfono.
■ Bloqueo de teclas Con el Bloqueo de teclas, puede bloquear el teclado para evitar los tecleos accidentales. Bloquee el teclado de su teléfono para evitar llamadas accidentales. Si el teclado está bloqueado, éste se desbloqueará cuando reciba una llamada. Tras la llamada, el bloqueo de teclas se reactiva automáticamente. Cuando el bloqueo de teclas está activado, aún es posible hacer llamadas al número de emergencia programado en su teléfono. Marque el número de emergencia y oprima la tecla Enviar.
Ingresar texto 3. Ingresar texto Puede usar dos métodos para ingresar texto y números: • El método estándar es la única manera para ingresar texto en la lista de contactos, en las notas de la agenda y para renombrar grupos de llamantes. • El ingreso de texto predictivo es un método fácil y rápido para redactar mensajes, crear notas de agenda o hacer una lista de actividades.
Puntuación y caracteres especiales Cuando aparezca una pantalla para ingreso de texto, oprima la tecla * para ver los caracteres especiales (mantenga oprimida la tecla * si el texto predictivo está activado). Puede navegar por la lista de caracteres especiales usando la tecla direccional de cuatro vías. Cuando el carácter deseado está destacado, oprima Insertar para ingresar el carácter en su mensaje.
Ingresar texto • Si la palabra mostrada no es correcta, oprima la tecla * para ver otros equivalentes. Para regresar a la palabra anterior en la lista de equivalentes, oprima Anterior. • Si ? aparece después de una palabra, oprima Deletrear para agregarla al diccionario. • Oprima la tecla 1 para insertar un punto en su mensaje. • Mantenga oprimida la tecla * para mostrar los caracteres especiales. Oprima la tecla * de nuevo para recorrer los caracteres disponibles.
4. Lista de contactos La lista de contactos puede guardar hasta 500 nombres con múltiples números y notas de texto cada uno. La cantidad de números e ingresos de texto que podrá guardar podría variar, dependiendo de su longitud y de la cantidad total de ingresos en la lista de contactos. ■ Agregar nuevos contactos Guardar un nombre y número 1. En la pantalla inicial, ingrese el número telefónico que desea guardar. 2. Seleccione Opciones > Guardar y oprimaSeleccionar. 3. Ingrese el nombre y oprima OK.
Lista de contactos 4. Desplácese hasta la dirección o nota de su elección y oprima Seleccionar. 5. Ingrese el texto para la nota o dirección y oprima OK. Guardar varios números e ítems de texto Puede guardar distintos tipos de números telefónicos e ítems cortos de texto para cada nombre en su lista de contactos. El primer número que guarda para una entrada automáticamente pasa a ser el número predeterminado, o primario, pero siempre es posible cambiarlo. 1.
Configurar un grupo 1. En la pantalla inicial, oprima la tecla direccional hacia abajo para mostrar la lista de entradas de su lista de contactos. 2. Desplácese hasta el nombre que desee agregar al grupo de llamantes y oprima Detalles. 3. Seleccione Opciones > Grupos de llamantes y oprima Seleccionar. 4. Desplácese hasta el grupo de llamantes al que desee agregar el nombre y oprima Seleccionar. Opciones 1. En la pantalla inicial, seleccionar Contactos > Grupos de llamantes y oprima Seleccionar.
Lista de contactos 4. Ingrese un nombre para el número y oprima OK. Si la marcación rápida está desactivada, el teléfono le pregunta si desea activarla. 5. Oprima Sí para activar la marcación rápida. Cambiar los números de marcación rápida 1. En la pantalla inicial, seleccione Contactos > Marcación rápida y oprima Seleccionar. 2. Desplácese a la entrada de marcación rápida que desea cambiar y seleccione Opciones > Cambiar y oprima Seleccionar. 3.
Cambiar tipo: cambiar el tipo de número a General, Móvil, Casa,Trabajo o Fax o el tipo de detalle para Dirección e-mail, Dirección Web, Dirección o Nota Número primario: cambiar el número predeterminado del contacto. Agregar número: agregar un número al contacto. Agregar detalle: agregar una dirección o nota al contacto. Agregar imagen: agregar una imagen desde la galería al contacto. Grupos de llamantes: agregar el contacto a un grupo de llamantes existente.
Lista de contactos ■ Ver la lista de contactos 1. En la pantalla inicial, seleccione Contactos. Aparecen los siguientes ítems del menú: Buscar: buscar un nombre o elegirlo de una lista. Agregar nuevo: agregar un contacto a su lista de contactos. Editar nombre: editar un nombre existente. Eliminar: eliminar un nombre y sus números asociados. Agregar número: agregar un número a un nombre existente. Configuraciones: cambiar la vista de la lista de contactos o revisar el estado de la memoria de su teléfono.
Definir las configuraciones Puede seleccionar como aparecerán los contactos en su lista de contactos y ver la cantidad de memoria utilizada o disponible en su teléfono. 1. En la pantalla inicial, seleccione Contactos > Configuraciones y oprima Seleccionar. 2. Desplácese hasta una de las siguientes opciones y oprima Seleccionar para acceder al submenú: Vista de desplazamiento: seleccione Lista de nombres, Nombre y número o la vista de Nombre e imagen.
Lista de contactos 4. Ingrese el número del destinatario u oprima Buscar para obtenerlo desde la lista de contactos. 5. Oprima OK y se envía la tarjeta de negocios. Recibir una tarjeta de negocios vía IR 1. En la pantalla inicial, seleccione Menú > Configuraciones > Configuraciones del teléfono > Infrarrojo y oprima Seleccionar para asegurarse de que la conexión IR está activada. Cuando reciba la tarjeta de negocios, su teléfono emite un sonido y aparece un mensaje en la pantalla. 2.

Mensajes (Menú 1) Si se ha suscrito a un servicio de mensajes, mediante su proveedor de servicios inalámbricos, podrá enviar y recibir mensajes a teléfonos compatibles que también estén suscritos a un servicio de mensajes compatible. También puede enviar y recibir mensajes con imágenes, mensajes mejorados, mensajes multimedia y mensajes de e-mail. Nota: Al enviar mensajes, su teléfono podría mostrar el mensaje “Mensaje enviado.
Mensajes (Menú 1) 2. Ingrese el número de teléfono del destinatario u oprima Buscar para recuperar un número de la lista de contactos y oprima OK. Tras una breve pausa, aparece la lista de destinatarios. 3. Tras una breve pausa, aparece la lista de destinatarios. 4. Oprima Opciones, desplácese a Usar plantilla y oprima Seleccionar. 5. Desplácese a una de las plantillas disponibles y oprima Seleccionar. 6. Ingrese el texto en su nuevo mensaje y oprima Opciones > Enviar y luego Seleccionar.
Borrar texto: borrar el texto. Salir del editor: guardar automáticamente el mensaje en su archivo y salir del editor de mensajes. Insertar contacto: insertar un nombre en el mensaje desde su lista de contactos. Insertar número: insertar un número telefónico o buscar un número telefónico en la lista de contactos. Usar plantilla: insertar una plantilla predeterminada en su mensaje. Insertar imagen: insertar una imagen desde la carpeta Galería.
Mensajes (Menú 1) Aviso de envío: se le envía un aviso para confirmar el envío del mensaje. Desplácese a Activar o Desactivar y oprima Seleccionar. Número de devolución de llamadas: se envía al destinatario un número de devolución de llamadas. Desplácese a Desactivar o su número telefónico y oprima Seleccionar. Configuraciones Cuando la memoria para mensajes esté llena, su teléfono no podrá enviar o recibir mensajes.
Mientras ve un mensaje mejorado que ha recibido, las siguientes opciones están disponibles: Sonido: seleccionar Reproducir sonido o Guardar sonido. Imagen: seleccionar Guardar imagen. Animación: seleccionar Guardar animación. Mensajes enlazados Puede enviar mensajes que tengan más de 160 caracteres, los que serán enviados como una serie de dos o más mensajes, también conocido como mensajes enlazados.
Mensajes (Menú 1) El servicio de mensajes multimedia soporta formatos de imagen JPEG, GIF, PNG, OTABMP y WBMP y tonos de timbre monofónicos y SP-MIDI. La apariencia de un mensaje multimedia podría variar dependiendo del dispositivo receptor. Las protecciones de copyright podrían evitar la duplicación, cambio, transferencia o desvío de ciertas imágenes, tonos de timbre y otros contenidos. Redactar y enviar 1.
Opciones Cuando crea un MMS, dependiendo del modo de ingreso de texto que esté utilizando, algunas o todas las opciones que aparecen a continuación están disponibles: Enviar a número: enviar el mensaje a un número telefónico. Enviar a e-mail: enviar el mensaje a una dirección de e-mail. Copias múltiples: enviar el mensaje a varios destinatarios. Vista previa: ver el MMS antes de enviarlo. Insertar imagen: insertar una imagen desde el menú Galería.
Mensajes (Menú 1) Reproducir: reproducir un clip de sonido, si hay uno en el mensaje. Guardar tono: guardar un tono de timbre, si hay alguno incluido, en el menú Galería. Zoom: ampliar el tamaño de la imagen. Guardar imagen: guardar cualquier imagen adjunta en su galería de imágenes. Configuraciones Tendrá que definir las configuraciones de MMS. Entre otras configuraciones multimedia se incluyen el guardar sus mensajes en la carpeta Elementos enviados y recibir informes de entrega. 1.
Guardar número de correo de voz Su proveedor de servicios inalámbricos podría haber guardado su número de correo de voz en su teléfono. De ser así, el número aparecerá en la pantalla en el paso 2. Oprima OK para dejar el número tal cual. 1. En la pantalla inicial, seleccione Menú > Mensajes > Mensajes de voz > Número de correo de voz y oprima Seleccionar. Tras una breve pausa, el Número del correo de voz aparece en la pantalla. 2.
Mensajes (Menú 1) Nota: Los servicios de correo de voz varían dependiendo del proveedor de servicios. Las siguientes instrucciones son ejemplos de operaciones comunes. Consulte con su proveedor de servicios para recibir instrucciones más específicas sobre el uso de su servicio de correo de voz. Anotar el número de correo de voz y continuar 1. Anote su número de correo de voz. 2. Llame y obtenga su correo de voz como lo hace de costumbre. 3.
Configurar su correo de voz con los códigos de marcación 1. En la pantalla inicial, oprima Contactos > marcación rápida y oprima Seleccionar. 2. Desplácese hasta la primera posición de marcación rápida disponible y oprima Asignar. 3. Ingrese su número de correo de voz, incluido el código de área. 4. Consulte los códigos de marcación e ingrese cualquier código según sea necesario utilizando la información que escribió en “Configurar correo de voz con códigos de marcación”, página 43.
Mensajes (Menú 1) Redactar y enviar Un mensaje con imágenes es por lo general equivalente en tamaño a 3 mensajes de texto. Cuando adjunta un gráfico a un mensaje, tendrá suficiente espacio para incluir 121 caracteres, aproximadamente, en el mensaje. Si adjunta una imagen a un mensaje que está casi lleno de texto, el teléfono emite un sonido y se le pide que borre parte del texto para poder adjuntar la imagen. 1.
Eliminar imagen: oprima OK para eliminar la imagen de su mensaje o bien oprima Atrás para regresar a la lista de opciones. Para obtener más opciones mientras crea un mensaje con imagen, consulte Opciones, pág. 33. Ver un mensaje con imágenes Cuando recibe un mensaje con imágenes, su teléfono emite un sonido y mensaje recibido aparece en la pantalla junto con el icono de mensaje ( ). 1. Oprima Mostrar para ver el mensaje con imágenes o bien oprima Salir para guardarlo en el buzón de entrada. 2.
Mensajes (Menú 1) ■ Mensajes de e-mail Mensajes de e-mail es un servicio de red. Consulte Servicios de red, pág. 6 para obtener más información. Si su proveedor de servicios inalámbricos soporta esta función, puede enviar mensajes de texto o multimedia a la cuenta corporativa o de Internet de una persona o a otros teléfonos en otras redes. Redactar y enviar Use “Redactar y enviar”, página 23, para crear un mensaje de texto o “Redactar y enviar”, página 38, para crear un mensaje multimedia.
Ver mensajes guardados 1. En la pantalla inicial, seleccione Menú > Mensajes > Mensajes de texto. 2. Tras una breve pausa, desplácese hasta la carpeta con el mensaje que desea ver y oprima Seleccionar. 3. Cuando abra la carpeta, desplácese al mensaje que desee ver y oprima Seleccionar. Buzón de entrada Los mensajes son automáticamente guardados en el buzón de entrada después de leerlos o si oprime Atrás cuando 1 mensaje recibido aparezca en la pantalla inicial.
Mensajes (Menú 1) Renombrar una carpeta 1. En la pantalla inicial, seleccione Menú > Mensajes > Mensajes de texto > Mis carpetas y oprima Seleccionar. 2. Cualquier carpeta que haya creado aparecerá en la pantalla. Desplácese hasta la carpeta que desee renombrar y oprima Opciones. 3. Desplácese a Renombrar carpeta y oprima Seleccionar. 4. Ingrese el nuevo nombre para la carpeta y oprima OK para confirmar o Atrás para salir. Borrar una carpeta Sólo las carpetas creadas en Mis carpetas se pueden borrar.
4. Oprima Opciones > Borrar y oprima Seleccionar. 5. Oprima OK para borrar el mensaje o Atrás para salir. Borrar todos los mensajes en una carpeta 1. En la pantalla inicial, seleccione Menú > Mensajes > Mensajes de texto o Mensajes multimedia > Borrar mensajes y oprima Seleccionar. 2. Desplácese hasta la carpeta con el mensaje que desea borrar y oprima Seleccionar. Si selecciona Todo leído, serán borrados los mensajes leídos en todas las carpetas. 3. Oprima OK para vaciar la carpeta.
Registro (Menú 2) 6. Registro (Menú 2) El registro guarda información sobre las últimas 30 llamadas perdidas, 30 llamadas recibidas o 30 números marcados. También calcula la duración total de todas las llamadas. Cuando la cantidad de llamadas excede el máximo, la llamada más reciente reemplaza la más antigua. Las opciones de menú para las llamadas perdidas, recibidas o números marcados son las mismas: Hora de llamada: mostrar la fecha y la hora de la llamada. Enviar mensaje: enviar un mensaje a un número.
■ Ver las llamadas recibidas Las llamadas recibidas son aquéllas que han sido contestadas. 1. En la pantalla inicial, seleccione Menú > Registro > Llamadas recibidas y oprima Seleccionar. 2. Desplácese hasta el nombre o número y oprima Opciones. 3. Desplácese hasta una opción y oprima Seleccionar para ver o activar la opción. ■ Números marcados Los números marcados son los números previos que ha marcado desde su teléfono: 1. En la pantalla inicial, oprima la tecla Enviar.
Registro (Menú 2) ■ Eliminar registros Puede borrar cualquiera de las llamadas perdidas, recibidas o números marcados de la memoria de su teléfono. 1. En la pantalla inicial, seleccione Menú > Registro > Eliminar listas de llamadas recientes y oprima Seleccionar. 2. Desplácese al tipo de llamada que le gustaría borrar (Todas, Perdidas, Recibidas o Marcadas) y oprima Seleccionar.
Cronómetros a cero En la pantalla inicial, seleccione Menú > Registro > Cronómetros de llamadas > Cronómetros a cero > OK, ingrese su código de bloqueo y oprima OK. ■ Duración de las llamadas de datos/fax Las llamadas de datos/fax son un servicio de red. Consulte Servicios de red, pág. 6 para obtener más información. Si su proveedor de servicios inalámbricos admite esta función, puede ver el tamaño o la duración de las llamadas hechas o recibidas ya sean de datos o fax.
Registro (Menú 2) ■ Duración del miniexplorador El miniexplorador es un servicio de red. Consulte Servicios de red, pág. 6 para obtener más información. Si su proveedor de servicios inalámbricos admite esta función, puede ver el tamaño o la duración de las llamadas hechas o recibidas desde el Miniexplorador. Nota: El tiempo real facturado por su proveedor de servicios para las llamadas y servicios podría variar según los servicios de red, redondeo de la factura, impuestos y así sucesivamente. 1.
7. Perfiles (Menú 3) Los perfiles definen la manera en que su teléfono recibe las llamadas o mensajes, los sonidos del teclado al oprimir una tecla y más. Las opciones para los timbrados, los tonos del teclado y otras configuraciones para cada uno de los perfiles disponibles pueden permanecer como vienen predeterminados o puede personalizarlos para ajustarse a sus necesidades. Los siguientes perfiles están disponibles: Normal, Silencio, Reunión, Exterior y Pager.
Perfiles (Menú 3) ■ Configurar un perfil programado Los perfiles programados se pueden usar para no perder llamadas. Por ejemplo, suponga que está en un evento que le requiere configurar su teléfono en Silencio antes de que éste comience, pero olvidó configurarlo a Normal hasta mucho tiempo después del evento. Un perfil programado puede evitar las llamadas perdidas, volviendo al perfil original a la hora que especifique.
8. Configuraciones (Menú 4) Use este menú para configurar o cambiar la función de la Tecla de selección derecha (el menú Ir a), configuraciones de hora y fecha, llamadas, teléfono, pantalla, tonos, accesorios, seguridad y restaurar las configuraciones de fábrica. ■ Configuración de la tecla de selección derecha Puede cambiar la función de la Tecla de selección derecha en su teléfono para que pueda acceder a las funciones que usa con más frecuencia desde la pantalla inicial. Elegir funciones 1.
Configuraciones (Menú 4) ■ Configuraciones de llamadas Definir compartir información de ubicación Compartir información de ubicación es un servicio de red. Consulte Servicios de red, pág. 6 para obtener más información. Si su proveedor de servicios inalámbricos admite esta función, entonces la función “compartir información de ubicación” le permite al teléfono compartir información de posición a través de la red.
Cualquier tecla contesta La función cualquier tecla contesta le permite contestar una llamada entrante al oprimir rápidamente cualquier tecla, excepto la tecla de encendido, la Tecla de selección izquierda, Tecla de selección derecha o la tecla Finalizar. En la pantalla inicial, seleccione Menú > Configuraciones > Configuraciones de llamadas > Cualquier tecla contesta y oprima Seleccionar > Activar o Desactivar y oprima Seleccionar.
Configuraciones (Menú 4) Guardar información 1. En la pantalla inicial, seleccione Menú > Configuraciones > Configuraciones de llamadas > Tarjeta de llamadas y oprima Seleccionar. 2. Ingrese su código de bloqueo y oprima OK. 3. Desplácese a una de las cuatro ubicaciones de memoria y oprima Opciones > Editar > OK > Secuencia de marcado y oprima Seleccionar. 4.

Oprima la tecla Finalizar para volver a la pantalla de inicio; luego ingrese el número telefónico, incluyendo cualquier prefijo (como 0 ó 1) que pueda necesitar la tarjeta de llamada, si corresponde. Consulte su tarjeta de llamada para obtener instrucciones. 5. Mantenga oprimida la tecla Enviar durante algunos segundos hasta que vea en la pantalla Llam. tarjeta. 6. Cuando escuche el tono o mensaje de sistema oprima OK. Recibir datos o llamadas de fax Las llamadas de datos o fax es un servicio de red.
Configuraciones (Menú 4) ■ Configuraciones de teléfono Configurar el idioma de la pantalla 1. En la pantalla de inicio, seleccione Menú > Configuraciones > Config. teléfono > Idioma del teléfono y oprima Seleccionar. 2. Desplácese hasta el idioma preferido y oprima Seleccionar. La configuración de idioma afecta los formatos de hora y fecha del reloj, la alarma y el calendario.
Continuos: el tono suena continuamente mientras mantiene oprimida la tecla. Fijos: envía los tonos según lo especificado en la opción Duración de los tonos DTMF. Desactivados: apaga los tonos. No se envía ningún tono cuando se oprime una tecla. Configurar la duración fija También puede programar la duración de cada tono al tacto usando la opción Fijos. En la pantalla de inicio, seleccione Menú > Configuraciones > Config. teléfono > Tonos DTMF > Duración de los tonos DTMF > Cortos (0.
Configuraciones (Menú 4) Enviar y recibir datos vía IR Puede configurar su teléfono para enviar y recibir datos (como tarjetas de negocios o notas de calendario) a través del puerto IR. Para usar la conexión IR, la transmisión y recepción deberán ser desde o hacia un teléfono o dispositivo compatible con IR. No dirija los rayos infrarrojos (IR) directamente a los ojos de las personas ni permita que interfieran con otros dispositivos de este tipo. Este dispositivo es un producto láser Clase 1. 1.
Fecha Mostrar/ocultar la fecha En la pantalla de inicio, seleccione Menú > Configuraciones > Configuraciones de hora > Fecha > Mostrar fecha o Ocultar fecha y oprima Seleccionar. Fijar la fecha 1. En la pantalla de inicio, seleccione Menú > Configuraciones > Configuraciones de hora > Fecha > Fijar fecha y oprima Seleccionar. 2. Ingrese la fecha y oprima OK. Cambiar el formato de fecha 1. Configurar el conjunto TTY/TDD Puede conectar el teléfono directamente al dispositivo TTY/TDD. Para que su teléfono acepte el TTY/TDD, deberá configurar el perfil TTY/TDD. Importante: Algunos fabricantes de TTY/TDD sugieren que se mantenga por lo menos una distancia de 45 cms (18 pulgadas) entre el teléfono y el dispositivo TTY/TDD. Al conectar su teléfono a cualquier dispositivo, lea el manual del usuario o contacte al fabricante para recibir instrucciones e información de seguridad. 1.

3. Desplácese a una de las siguientes opciones y oprima Seleccionar: Al encenderlo activa la función de bloqueo inmediatamente después de encender el teléfono. Bloquear ahora activa inmediatamente la función de bloqueo. Desactivar desactiva inmediatamente la función de bloqueo. Si seleccionó Al encender o Bloquear ahora, debe ingresar el código de bloqueo antes de que el teléfono funcione normalmente. Después de aceptar el código de bloqueo, su teléfono funciona como de costumbre.
Configuraciones (Menú 4) Cambiar el código de bloqueo El código de bloqueo predeterminado es 1234 o los cuatro últimos dígitos de su número telefónico. Si ingresa un código incorrecto cinco veces seguidas, su teléfono le pedirá el código de seguridad. 1. En la pantalla de inicio, seleccione Menú > Configuraciones > Conf. seguridad > Códigos de acceso > Cambiar código de bloqueo y oprima Seleccionar. 2. Código de seguridad Nota: No use códigos similares a los números de emergencia, para prevenir la marcación accidental de números de emergencia. El código de seguridad controla el acceso a funciones como el nivel de seguridad y se incluye en el teléfono. El código predeterminado es 12345. Cuando cambie el código de seguridad, guarde el nuevo código en un lugar secreto y lejos de su teléfono.

Sistema (Menú 5) ■ Modalidad Puede elegir si el teléfono usa servicio digital o análogo. 1. En la pantalla de inicio, seleccione Menú > Sistema > Modo y oprima Seleccionar. 2. Desplácese a una de las opciones de servicio y oprima Seleccionar: Digital primero: el teléfono funciona en modo digital, pero también funciona en modo análogo cuando el primero no está disponible. 10. Radio (Menú 6) La radio FM usa el cable del auricular HDS-3 Stereo como una antena. Un auricular compatible debe conectarse al dispositivo para que la radio FM funcione adecuadamente. Nota: Escuche música a un volumen moderado. Escuchar la música a un volumen muy alto podría ser dañino. ■ Encender y apagar 1. Para encender la radio, en la pantalla de inicio, seleccione Menú > Radio y oprima Seleccionar. 2. Para apagar la radio, mantenga oprimida la tecla Finalizar.
Radio (Menú 6) ■ Guardar canal Puede guardar la programación para una emisora en cualquiera de las 20 ubicaciones en la memoria y sintonizar la radio en esa emisora con la radio encendida. 1. Con la radio encendida, desplácese para iniciar la búsqueda de la emisora. La búsqueda se detiene al encontrar una emisora. 2. Para guardar la emisora, seleccione Opciones > Guardar canal y oprima Seleccionar. 3. Ingrese un nombre para la emisora y oprima OK. 4.
11. Cámara (Menú 7) El teléfono cuenta con una cámara incorporada que le permite tomar fotos y guardarlas en el menú Galería o adjuntarlas a una entrada en su lista de contactos. El lente de la cámara se encuentra en la parte posterior del teléfono y la pantalla del teléfono funciona como el visor de la cámara. Las imágenes están en formato JPEG. Nota: El lente de la cámara se ubica en la parte posterior del teléfono. Se puede cubrir el lente con cinta protectora.
Cámara (Menú 7) Abrir galería: abre la carpeta Imágenes en el menú Galería. Cambiar modo: alterna entre Foto estándar y Foto vertical o viceversa. Config. contraste: use la Tecla de direccional hacia la derecha o la Tecla de direccional hacia la izquierda para ajustar el contraste de la foto. Como imag. de fondo: ajusta la foto a la imagen de fondo del teléfono. Detalles: muestra las opciones de Nombre, Tamaño, Fecha, Hora, Resolución, Formato o Protegida para la foto.
12. Galería (Menú 8) Puede guardar imágenes y tonos de timbre en las carpetas de la galería o crear carpetas personalizadas y guardarlas en éstas. Puede descargar imágenes y tonos vía MMS, páginas Web o con el Nokia PC Suite. ■ Abrir la galería En la pantalla de inicio, seleccione Menú > Galería y oprima Seleccionar. En la pantalla aparecen los siguientes submenús: Ver carpetas: explore las carpetas en el menú de la galería. Consulte “Ver carpetas” en la siguiente sección para conocer más detalles.

14. Voz (Menú 10) ■ Marcación por voz Puede marcar hasta 25 números almacenados usando la marcación por voz. Antes de usar las etiquetas de voz, observe que: • Las etiquetas de voz no dependen del idioma. Dependen de la voz del hablante. • Debe decir el nombre exactamente de la misma manera como lo grabó. • Las etiquetas de voz son sensibles a los ruidos de fondo. Grabe las etiquetas de voz y úselas en un entorno sin interferencias. • No se usan nombres muy cortos.
Voz (Menú 10) Marcar un número 1. Mantenga oprimida Contactos (o Ir a). 2. Cuando escuche unos bips y aparezca Hable ahora, suelte la tecla. 3. Pronuncie claramente la etiqueta de voz en el micrófono. Cuando el teléfono encuentre la etiqueta, Encontrado: aparece en la pantalla y el teléfono marca automáticamente el número. Si el teléfono no localiza un número o no reconoce la etiqueta de voz, aparece No se encontró coincidencia.
■ Comandos de voz Puede programar hasta cinco comandos de voz, que admiten operaciones con manos libres en ciertas funciones de teléfono. Agregar una etiqueta de voz Antes de usar los comandos de voz, primero deberá agregar una etiqueta de voz a la función del teléfono. 1. 15. Miniexplorador (Menú 11) El miniexplorador es un servicio de red. Consulte Servicios de red, pág. 6 para obtener más información. Su teléfono tiene un navegador incorporado que puede usar para conectarse a los servicios seleccionados de Internet móvil. Si su proveedor de servicio celular admite esta función, puede ver los pronósticos del tiempo, revisar las noticias o los horarios de vuelos, ver información financiera y mucho más. El navegador Web de su teléfono puede mostrar contenido WAP.
Miniexplorador (Menú 11) ■ Navegar por la Internet móvil Debido a que la pantalla de su teléfono es mucho más pequeña que la de una computadora, el contenido de Internet aparece en un formato distinto. Organizador (Menú 12) Su teléfono cuenta con funciones para ayudar a organizar su vida diaria, incluyendo alarma, calendario, lista de tareas, calculadora, temporizador y calculador de calorías. ■ Alarma Configurar una alarma La alarma depende del reloj de su teléfono. Suena una alerta a la hora que programe y también funciona cuando el teléfono está apagado. Si no ha programado una alarma 1. No oprima Sí cuando el uso del teléfono celular pueda provocar interferencia o peligro.
Anotar una fecha específica Puede elegir entre cinco tipos de notas: Reunión, Llamada, Cumpleaños, Memo y Recordatorio. Su teléfono le pide más datos según el tipo de nota que elija. También tiene la opción de programar una alarma para cualquier nota elegida. 1. Vaya a la fecha para la cual desea programar un recordatorio. (Consulte Ir a fecha, pág. 91 para obtener más información.) 2. En la vista mensual (con la opción Ir a fecha destacada), seleccione Opciones > Crear nota y oprima Seleccionar. 3.

Organizador (Menú 12) ■ Lista de tareas Puede hacer listas de sus actividades y tareas con esta función. Podrá guardar hasta 30 notas, dependiendo de su longitud. Organizador (Menú 12) ■ Cronómetro Su teléfono cuenta con un cronómetro que se puede utilizar para medir el tiempo. El cronómetro muestra en formato hh:mm:ss:s horas, minutos, segundos y fracciones de un segundo. Si utiliza el cronómetro o permite que se ejecute en segundo plano cuando hay otras funciones activas, aumenta la demanda de energía de la batería y se reduce la duración de ésta. Medir el tiempo 1.
Medir las vueltas Podrá usar esta función cuando desee medir la cantidad de tiempo para completar una vuelta o ciclo. 1. En la pantalla de inicio, seleccione Menú > Organizar > Cronómetro > Medición vueltas > Iniciar. 2. Oprima Vuelta para tomar nota de la medición de vueltas. El reloj se detiene e inmediatamente comienza desde cero. El tiempo de vuelta aparece debajo del tiempo en progreso. Si mide más de 1 vuelta, el tiempo en progreso aparece al principio de la lista.
Organizador (Menú 12) 1. En la pantalla de inicio, seleccione Menú > Organizador > Cronómetro >Continuar y oprima Seleccionar. 2. Para detener el reloj, oprima Parar. ■ Calculador de calorías El calculador de calorías mide la cantidad de energía consumida en varias actividades físicas. La energía consumida depende de la edad, el peso y el género. Puede guardar hasta 10 actividades en su teléfono.
