1 Insert the Batteries
The keyboard requires 2 AAA batteries and the mouse requires 2 AA batteries which are
included in the package. Whenever you insert batteries, always make sure that each of them is
new. Alkaline batteries provide maximum battery life.
To insert the batteries
1 Turn the mouse upside down, and then release the switch to open the top cover where
the batteries are located.
2 Open the keyboard battery compartment on the bottom of the keyboard.
3 Insert new batteries in both the mouse and keyboard. Orient the positive (+) and
negative (–) ends correctly as specied by the battery compartment labels.
2 Connect the Receiver to Your Computer
With your computer turned on, plug the rectangular USB connector into your
computer’s rectangular USB port.
3 Position the Receiver, Keyboard, and Mouse
1 Position the receiver at least 8 inches (20 cm) away from your computer monitor,
computer case, and any other items that might cause interference (such as metal ling
cabinets, desktop fans, or uorescent lights).
2 Position the keyboard and mouse no less than 8 inches (20 cm) from the receiver
but no more than 4 feet (1.2 m) from the receiver. This distance varies depending on
