2.6 Jumper Settings for ATX Power On/Off Select
(ATX power supply only)
Jumper JPP
ATX Power On/Off Select
Jumper JPP is applicable only for
computers using an ATX power
supply. It is used to select the
method of powering-on/off the
computer.
Pins 1 and 2 On (ATX Switch)
Uses the power button to
power-on the computer. To
power-off the computer, you can
either press the power button
or execute the Shut Down
command in the Windows
95/98 operating system. If you are using
the Shut Down command, make sure “Software Power-off in the
Chipset Features Setup of the Award BIOS is set to Enabled. Refer
to chapter 3 of this manual for more information.
Pins 2 and 3 On (Power Supply Switch)
As long as the power supply switch is On, the computer will always
be in its power-on state. The advantage of this setting is when
power returns after a power failure, the computer will continue to
operate. The computer will power-off only when the power supply
switch is Off or the computer has been disconnected.
Important:
If you wish to use the power supply switch to power on/off the
computer, make sure JP2 pins 1, 2 and 3 is set to Off.
