CyberControl SOFTWARE
CyberControl allows the user with a PC (running Windows 3.1 or higher) or Macintosh computer to
completely control the CyberAmp.
PC Installation
From Windows,
1) Insert the CD.
2) Go to the \Windows\CyberControl folder on the CD and run the Setup.exe file.
3) An entry for CyberControl will be added to the Axon Laboratory folder in the Programs startup
list.
Macintosh Installation
Hooking Up the CyberAmp to the Macintosh
The CyberAmp is connected to the Macintosh via a DIN-8 to DB 25 serial cable. One can use an
Apple-Writer cable, or obtain the RS232-03 Macintosh II null-modem cable from Axon Instruments.
For computers without a serial port, you will need to provide a workaround, such as a USB-Serial
adapter or a Stealthport.
1) Make sure that each machine is off.
2) Plug the circular end of the cable into the connector on the back of the Macintosh with the
Phone icon.
3) Plug the flat 25 pin end of the cable into the connection marked RS-232 IN on the CyberAmp.
4) Install the fuse in the CyberAmp.
5) Turn on the CyberAmp and the Macintosh.
Installing CyberControl
To install the CyberControl software:
1) Turn on the Macintosh and allow it to boot up.
2) Insert theCyberAmp Software CD.
3) Grab the icon of the installation disk with the pointer and drop it onto the icon of the hard disk
to which you would like to copy the software. If the Macintosh computer resents a dialog box
and asks you if you really want to copy this disk to that drive, press OK. This process will
create a folder named CyberControl on the hard disk.
4) Open the folder; it will contain a single icon, the CyberControl application.
At this point the installation is finished and you may run the application.
