Become familiar with all controls and stop the vehicle as necessary when operating the audio and navigation system.

(Voice activated controls are also available for equipped models.) You can, for example: ●● play back audio sources such as an FM broadcast, Pandora Internet Radio, etc.

To start intercom Talk button (rider) This but ton is used to open the [Teleprompter] screen (activate voice recognition), and activate the CB or intercom. Press and release . The [Teleprompter] screen appears, if so set in advance. When the intercom function is activated, press and hold . While the button is being pressed and held, you can have a conversation with the passenger using the headset and microphone.

BASIC OPERATIONS Information on the Audio screen Selecting a target object on the screen WARNING Always stop the vehicle before operating the touchscreen. ① ① Name of the currently played audio and the associated information, such as the frequency for FM, AM and weather band broad cast. T h e t o u c h s c r e e n a l l ows yo u t o perform a variety of operations. Simply touch an object on the screen, and the corresponding operation is made.

Pressing the home button also returns you to the HOME screen.

If you touch [List] af ter touching [Categ], the detected stations in the specified category will be shown. Touch [PTY name] to show the list of the program type, as you can do so by touching [Categ]. . Touch The following screen appears.

Station name and frequency To preset stations While receiving the station to preset, touch [Add preset], and then a place in the preset stations list where you want to add the station. Frequency and name of the station are added to the preset stations list. To listen to a preset station, touch the desired station on the preset station list.
ENJOYING AUDIO PLAYBACK Weather band broadcast To call up the weather band reception screen 2. Touch the audio source selector [WB]. The weather band reception screen appears. 1. On the HOME screen, touch [Audio]. Alternatively, touch on the HOME screen, if it is set as the home right button. The audio screen played last is displayed. While receiving the station to preset, touch [Add preset], and then a place in the preset stations list where you want to add the station.
COMMUNICATION The system provides you various ways to make communication. ●● Phone communication using a smar tphone c onnec ted to the system via Bluetooth ●● Voice communication between rider and passenger ●● C B ( c i t i z e n s b a n d ) r a d i o communication using a CB radio device connected to the vehicle ●● Reception of SMS messages ●● Reception of messages from the vehicle [Communication] menu Call up the [Communication] menu to perform communication-related operations. 1.
COMMUNICATION CB (citizens band) radio communication To turn on/off the CB radio communication If a CB radio device is connected to the vehicle, you can make CB radio communication. If the CB radio communication is turned off, touch [ON] to turn it on. The [ON] button changes to [OFF]. Touch [OFF] to turn the CB radio communication off. To call up the CB radio communication screen 1. O p e n t h e [ C o m m u n i c a t i o n ] menu. See “[Communication] menu” on page 8-1. 2. Touch [CB Radio].
COMMUNICATION To make communication settings On the [CB Radio] screen, touch . The following screen appears. 8 The screen is identical to the one which is displayed by the following procedure: 1. Go to [Setting] menu. 2. Touch the category selector [Communi.]. For details on how to make communication settings, see the respective descriptions in “Communication settings".
SETTINGS The [Setting] menu allows you to make various settings so that you can operate the unit under the most preferable conditions. The following table shows you an overview of the [Setting] menu. SETTINGS [Setting] menu When you go to [Setting] menu, the following [General] setting menu appears. Category selector To select the category There are five categories in the [Setting] menu; [General], [Communi.], [Audio], [Navigation], and [Sirius XM]. To select the category, touch the category selector, and then touch the desired category. If you select the [Audio] category, for example, the [Audio] setting menu appears.
SETTINGS The [Vehicle info.] screens show you the following vehicle related informations. For the items accompanied with the [Reset] button, you can reset the displayed value to zero by touching the [Reset] button. ●● Fuel consumpt. SETTINGS To change the HOME screen and the home right button 1. Go to [Setting] menu. 2. Touch [Home screen]. The [Home screen] screen appears. you assign the Audio screen as the HOME screen. To define the home right button To assign a HOME screen You can assign the following two (or three) screens as the HOME screen: ●● Information screen ●● Audio screen ●● Map screen To assign one of the above screens as the HOME screen, touch [Home screen] and touch the screen name you want to set as the HOME screen.
SETTINGS To set the display brightness 1. Go to [Setting] menu. 2. Touch [Display]. The [Display] screen appears. To activate the auto brightness function When you activate the auto brightness func tion, the display brightness changes according to the ambient lightness. Touch [Auto brightness] so that a checkmark is added. Touch [Auto brightness] again to d e a c t i va t e t h e a u t o b r i g h t n e s s function. To adjust the display brightness manually To turn off the display Touch [Display OFF].
SETTINGS 3. Touch to display the succeeding items, as necessary. Each time you touch , the screen changes as follows. To set the maintenance date, the parts list, and the dealer information 1. Go to [Setting] menu. 2. Touch [Maintenance]. The [Maintenance] screen appears. To set the maintenance date On the [Maintenance] screen, touch [Date input]. The following screen appears. The screen allows you to update the maintenance date.
SETTINGS To set the parts list On the [Maintenance] screen, touch [Parts list]. The [Parts list] screen appears. Proceed as follows to set the parts list. 1. Touch [Parts name] where no parts name has been set. If necessary, touch to display the succeeding parts names. The following screen appears. 2. Touch [Name change]. The keyboard appears. 3. E n t e r t h e p a r t s n a m e , t h e n touch [Enter]. 4. Touch [Value change]. The numeric keyboard appears. 5.
SETTINGS The following example shows that you select [MPG] as the unit of the fuel consumption. To select the language See page 5-1. To delete all the personal data 1. Go to [Setting] menu. 2. Touch twice [Delete all personal data]. 3. On the confirmation window, touch [Yes] to delete all the personal data. Touch [No] if you do not want to delete all the personal data.
SETTINGS To activate/deactivate the amplifier If an external amplifier is connected to t h e veh i c l e, yo u c a n s p e c i f y which amplifier you use, the internal amplifier, the external amplifier, or both. 1. Go to [Setting] menu. 2. Touch twice [External amp]. The [External amp] screen appears. 11 3. To use the internal amplifier, touch [Internal amp use] so that a checkmark is added. To use the external amplifier, touch [External amp use] so that a checkmark is added.
SETTINGS To perform inspection The system performs internal inspection itself, and allows you to view the result. T h e s y s t e m a l s o a l l o w s yo u t o perform inspection by yourself. 1. Go to [Setting] menu. 2. Touch three times [Inspection mode]. The [Inspection mode] screen appears. To view the [Inspection 1] screen / [Inspection 2] screen The better the reception status, the more the bars turn on.
SETTINGS ●● ●● Indicates that the status of GPS signal reception is not clear. [BT Rx Sensitivity] Indicates the Bluetooth signal reception status. ●● ●● Indicates that the system is not receiving Bluetooth signal. ●● Indicates that the status of Bluetooth signal reception is not clear. [CB radio Rx Sensitivity] Indicates the CB radio reception status. 11 Indicates that the system is not connected to the grip heater. Indicates that the system is connected to CAN.
SETTINGS ●● [PSH connection] “PSH” stands for the passenger’s seat heater. Indicates the system’s connection status to the passenger’s seat heater. ●● ●● Indicates that the status of connection to the passenger’s seat heater is not clear. [TPMS values] “TPMS” stands for the tire pressure monitoring sysytem. Indicates the front and rear tire pressure. How to read and operate the [Inspection 2] screen The battery is sufficiently charged. The battery voltage is low.
SETTINGS ●● ●● 11 [Speaker selection] You can select a speaker from among front left, front right, rear left, and rear right. The playback sound of the selected audio source will be heard from the selected speaker. You can select multiple speakers. If you select [Auto], the playback sound will be heard from all the speakers sequentially at an interval of 3 seconds. [Fr Headset]/[Rr Headset] You can select a headset from among front left, front right, rear left, and rear right.
SETTINGS Communication settings Use the [Communi.] setting menu to make the communication-related settings, such as the settings for Bluetooth, the settings for phone communication, etc. 3. O n t h e [ C o m m u n i . ] s e t t i n g menu, touch [Bluetooth]. The [Bluetooth] screen appears. To make settings for Bluetooth 1. Go to [Setting] menu. 2. Touch the category selector [Communi.]. The [Communi.] setting menu appears.
SETTINGS Proceed as follows. 1. O n t h e [ B l u e t o o t h ] s c r e e n , touch [Search device]. If a Bluetooth device is detected, its name will be displayed, as shown in the following example. 2. To u c h t h e B u e t o o t h d e v i c e name. A confirmation window like the following appears. 11 3. Touch [Pair]. If a message appears on the Bluetooth device that prompts you to confirm pairing, operate as requested. To cancel pairing, touch [Don’t Pair].
SETTINGS To make a Bluetooth device search for the system and establish connection 1. O n t h e [ B l u e t o o t h ] s c r e e n , touch [Make system discoverable]. The following confirmation window appears. The system now allows the Bluetooth device to detect it. 2. Operate the Bluetooth device to search for another Bluetooth device, and when the system is detected under the name “yamaha”, continue operation to establish connection with the system within the indicated time.
SETTINGS To change the system’s name as a Bluetooth device At the time of purchase, the system has a name “yamaha” as a Bluetooth device. When a Bluetooth device detects the system, the system is recognised as “yamaha”. To change the name, proceed as follows. 1. O n t h e [ B l u e t o o t h ] s c r e e n , touch to display the succeeding items. 2. Touch [Set system name]. The [Set system name] screen appears. 11 3. Touch [Set system name]. 4.
SETTINGS To update the phonebook To make settings for Bluetooth To turn on/off the sound On the [Phone] screen, touch [Refresh phonebook]. On the [Phone] screen, touch [Bluetooth]. The [Bluetooth] screen appears. You can turn on/off the sound of the external speakers, the rider’s headset, and the passenger’s headset. On the [Phone] screen, touch [Audio output]. The [Audio output] screen appears. To select a ringtone You can select the type of ringtone that is heard from the headset.
SETTINGS To adjust the volume You can adjust the volume of all the sounds and voices emitted and picked up by the unit. On the [Phone] screen, touch [Volume]. The [Volume] screen appears. 11 The screen is identical to the one which is displayed by the following procedure: 1. Go to [Setting] menu. 2. Touch the category selector [Communi.]. 3. Touch . 4. Touch [Volume]. For details on how to use the [Volume] screen, see “To adjust the volume” on page 11-22.
SETTINGS 2. Touch or to change the microphone sensitivity of the passenger’s headset. To disable adjustment, touch [Vox for passenger headset] again so that the checkmark is removed. TIP When the sensitivity level is set to 0, voices of the rider/passenger will not be picked up by the microphone. To turn on/off the sound 1. On the [Vox] screen, touch to display the succeeding items. 2. Touch [Audio output]. The [Audio output] screen appears.
SETTINGS To activate/deactivate the passenger switches You can either activate or deactivate the passenger switches. 1. Go to [Setting] menu. 2. Touch the category selector [Communi.]. SETTINGS How to make settings on the [Audio output] screen Touch the box you want to turn on the sound so that a checkmark appears. Touch again to turn off the sound so that the checkmark is removed. Explanations for each icon and term are given below. [Media]: Sounds of radio broadcasts and audio devices you can play back by touching on the HOME screen. [Navi]: Sounds and voices heard during route guidance. Available only when the navigation function is activated.
SETTINGS 4. Touch [Volume]. The [Volume] screen appears. Use the four [Volume] screens to adjust the volume to the desired level. How to adjust the volume on the [Volume] screens or to change the Touch volume level within the available range, or turn on/off the sound by adding/removing a checkmark. ●● [Media] Adjust the volume of sounds of radio broadcasts and audio devices you can play back by touching on the HOME screen.

Audio settings Use the [Audio] settings menu to make the audio-related settings, such as the bass/treble/fader/SVC adjustment. The [Audio] setting menu appears.
