Please follow local building codes prior to excavation, construction and assembly of your project. Whether you’re planning on doing the project yourself or hiring a professional, every project requires a call to mark your utility lines. BE PREPARED: A compactor will be required to compact the base of your patio. In some cases, you will be required to cut concrete blocks, a block splitter or circular saw fitted with a masonry cutting blade is an ideal tool to work with.
A solid foundation for your Bench is necessary to prevent settling and tiling of your project. We recommend a leveling pad, unless local building code requires you to have a concrete foundation. TIPS ON BUILDING LEVELING PADS: * First remove organic top soil * Create a leva fines (GW as per ASTM D248). * Leveling pad should be a minimum of 6 to 8 inches thick. For leveling pads greater than 8” thick, the fill shall be placed in multiple lifts.
