In extreme cases, when breathing is hindered or stopped, immediately call emergency medical services. If breathing is hindered, give oxygen. If breathing is stopped administer CPR. Excessive inhalation of wood dust can cause coating of the lungs, resulting in asphyxiation. Coughing, wheezing and sneezing, sinusitis and colds may also result from inhalation.

Wood dust is carcinogenic to humans.
