Cleaning and care Make sure you clean all the filters at the correct intervals This tumble dryer has a multistage filter system, consisting of the fluff filters (1) and a filter in the plinth (2). This system, together with the bottom right grille/airway (3) requires regular maintenance. 1. When to clean the fluff filters Clean the fluff filters after each drying programme The fluff which is created by the drying process is collected by the fluff filters in the door and the door opening.
Cleaning and care 2. When to clean the filter in the plinth The plinth filter protects the heat exchanger from fluff. Therefore it is particularly important to clean this filter thoroughly on a regular basis in accordance with these operating instructions. The filter must also be checked regularly for wear. With normal use Clean when Clean plinth filter appears in the display. With continuous use Clean 1x daily and additionally when the prompt appears in the display.
Cleaning and care 3. When to clean the bottom right grille / airways Clean when Open grille bottom right and clean airways appears in the display. There are vents for air cooling in the bottom right grille. The cooling fins behind the grille can become blocked with dust and dirt drawn in from the surrounding area. Keep the room where the tumble dryer is located free from dust and fluff. This will reduce the requirement to clean the bottom right grille/airways. See "Bottom right grille/airways".
Cleaning and care Cleaning the fluff filters When to clean Clean the surfaces of the fluff filters in the door and the door opening after each drying programme. Cleaning them whilst dry Tip: You can use a vacuum cleaner to remove the fluff. Replacing them Do not replace them if they are damp or wet. Damp or wet filters could cause operational faults.
Cleaning and care Filter in the plinth When to clean With normal use Clean when Clean plinth filter appears in the display. To clear the Clean plinth filter prompt: Confirm with OK. Cleaning and care Cleaning Poor fit Tip: Fluff can be removed with a vacuum cleaner. This makes subsequent wet cleaning easier. Rinse the filter thoroughly under clean, running water. Squeeze the filter very carefully several times as you rinse it. Rinse the filter until all visible residues have been removed. The plinth filter must not be replaced dripping wet. This can cause a fault. The plinth filter must be perfectly functional and undamaged after cleaning.
Cleaning and care Deformation Indentations indicate that the filter has become blocked and worn by continuous use. White residues or residues of other colours Deformations indicate that the filter has become blocked and worn by continuous use. Cracks, tears, indentations Residues arise from laundry fibres and traces of detergent components which can clog the filter. They can be found on the front and side edges of the filter. In extreme cases they can form stubborn hard crusts.
Cleaning and care Cleaning the service panel and the heat exchanger housing Use a damp cloth to remove any fluff. Make sure that you do not damage the rubber seal when doing this. Remove any visible soiling carefully with a vacuum cleaner using a dusting brush or a narrow crevice nozzle. Check whether the cooling fins and the heat exchanger housing (in front of the cooling fins) are blocked with fluff (as follows). Danger of injury. Do not touch the cooling fins. You could cut yourself.
Cleaning and care Replacing Close the service panel. It is important to ensure that the filters and the service panel are correctly positioned and locked otherwise water may leak from the machine. Fit the filter back on the handle. Make sure it is the correct way round. To ensure that the filter is positioned correctly in the front of the heat exchanger unit: First insert the handle with the filter attached over the two guide pins. Make sure that the yellow dot on the handle is on the right.
