Descaling the machine
75
Important! When descaling the ma‐
chine, cover delicate surfaces and
natural flooring to prevent damage
from splashes of descaling solution.
Ensure that any splashes of desca‐
li
ng solution are wiped up immedi‐
ately.
Lime scale builds up in the coffee sys‐
t
em through use. How often the ma‐
chine needs to be descaled will depend
on the water hardness level in your
area. It should be descaled regularly to
ensure that it functions correctly.
The machine will guide you through the
descalin
g process. Various messages
will appear in the display, e.g. you will
be prompted to empty the drip tray or
fill the water tank.
The descaling process is r
equired and
takes approx. 20 minutes.
The coffee system prompts you when it
needs t
o be descaled. "No. of portions
until appliance needs descaling: No. of
uses until appliance needs descaling: 50
appears in the display. Each time a
drink is prepared, the coffee system
displays the number of portions remain‐
ing until descaling must be carried out.
Confirm the message with OK.
When the number of remaining portions
r
eaches 0, the appliance will lock out.
Then Descale will appear in the display.
You can turn off the coffee system if
you do not want t
o descale it at this
time. However, you will be not be able
to make any more drinks until descaling
has been carried out.
