Safety instructions for installation The appliance must be installed by a suitably qualified and competent person in strict accordance with current national and local safety regulations. ~ Before installation, check the appliance for visible signs of damage. ~ Before connecting the appliance, make sure that the connection data on the data plate (voltage and frequency) match the mains electricity supply. The appliance must be positioned level, with a maximum tolerance of 2°, to allow the steam generator to operate correctly. ^ Secure the appliance by screwing the two wood screws 3.5 x 25 mm (supplied) into the vertical strips on either side of the appliance (see illustration).

DGC 5085 XL Preparing the appliance Before installing and connecting the appliance, please read the section "Plumbing in the appliance". Fitting the inlet hose The water inlet hose connection is located on the top left-hand side on the back of the appliance. ^ Attach the connecting nut of the stainless steel hose to the screw thread. Make sure that it has been screwed on tightly. Fitting the drain hose The water drain hose connection is located on the bottom left-hand side on the back of the appliance.
DGC 5085 XL ^ Secure the appliance by screwing the two wood screws 3.5 x 25 mm (supplied) into the vertical strips on either side of the appliance (see illustration). ^ Connect the appliance to the water supply and drainage outlet. ^ Plug in the appliance and switch it on. ^ Using the Operating Instructions as a guide, check all oven functions are working correctly.

DGC 5085 XL All items used for connecting the appliance to the mains water supply must comply with the current national and local safety regulations in the country where the appliance is being installed. The appliance is only suitable for connection to the cold water supply. This appliance is constructed to comply with German water regulations (DVGW), and may be connected to a suitable supply without an extra non-return valve if national regulations permit.
DGC 5085 XL Connection to the water inlet Before plumbing the appliance in, ensure that it is disconnected from the mains electricity supply. ^ Switch off at the mains. ^ Connect the stainless steel hose to the stopcock. Ensure that it is screwed into position correctly. The connection points are subject to mains water pressure. Turn on the stopcock slowly and check for leaks. Correct the position of the seal and union if appropriate.
Electrical connection All electrical work should be carried out by a suitably qualified and competent person, in strict accordance with current local and national safety regulations (BS 7671 in the UK). Installation, repairs and other work by unqualified persons could be dangerous. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for unauthorised work. Ensure power is not supplied to the appliance until after installation work has been carried out. The appliance must only be operated when built-in.
Electrical connection Important U.K. This appliance is supplied for connection to a single phase 230 V 50 Hz supply with a 3-core cable.
Energy efficiency class This appliance is rated energy efficiency class A in accordance with EN 50304. Tests were carried out using "Cake plus".
