Description of the machine This Miele machine is a commercial dishwasher with a tank system, short batch times and large cleaning capacity for washing crockery and cutlery in restaurants, hotels and other commercial catering establishments. G 8066 and G 8066 DOS: Where the water hardness level is ü 0.7 mmol/l (4 °d - German scale) an external water softener unit, e.g. the G 7897 Aqua-soft system will need to be fitted.

Warning and Safety instructions This machine complies with all relevant local and national safety requirements. Incorrect use can lead to personal injury and damage to property. To avoid the risk of accidents and damage to the machine please read these instructions carefully before starting to use it. Keep these instructions in a safe place for reference, and pass them on to any future user. Correct use This machine is designed for cleaning crockery and glassware only, as described in these instructions.
Warning and Safety instructions Personnel operating the machine should be trained regularly. Untrained personnel should not be allowed access to the machine or its controls. This machine is not a toy. Do not allow children to play in or around it or to operate it. There is a danger that they could injure themselves or get into the machine and lock themselves in. Take great care when handling liquid agents and additives. These may contain irritant or corrosive ingredients.
Warning and Safety instructions The following points should be observed to assist in maintaining quality standards, to protect users, and to avoid damage to the machine and items being cleaned. Only use cleaning agents designed for use in this type of machine. The use of unsuitable cleaning agents could adversely affect the components of the machine, as well as items being cleaned. Only use low-foaming cleaning agents.
Warning and Safety instructions In countries where there are areas which may be subject to infestation by cockroaches and other vermin, pay particular attention to keeping the machine in a clean condition at all times. Any damage caused by cockroaches or other vermin will not be covered by the guarantee. Accessories Only use genuine Miele accessories with this machine. Consult Miele on the type and application of such equipment.
Caring for the environment Disposal of the packing material The transport and protective packing has been selected from materials which are environmentally friendly for disposal, and can normally be recycled. Ensure that any plastic wrappings, bags, etc. are disposed of safely and kept out of the reach of babies and young children.
Before using for the first time Before using the machine for the first time, the following steps must be carrried out. Each step is described in more detail in the appropriate section further on in the booklet. Prepare the water softener unit (Optional). The water softener unit must be set for the water hardness level in your area. The salt reservoir also has to be filled, first with water and then with reactivation salt.
Opening and closing the door To open the door To close the door ^ Grasp the handle and open the door. ^ Lift the door upwards and push until it clicks shut. The door should only be opened during operation for emergencies, e.g. if articles are knocking together or if a programme fault is indicated in the display (see "Cancelling a programme"). ,Do not touch the inside of the cabinet or the heated surfaces during or directly after the end of a programme. You could burn yourself.
Water softener unit (optional) Only applies to machines with a built-in water softener. To achieve good cleaning results, the dishwasher needs to operate with soft water. Hard water results in a build-up of calcium deposits on crockery and in the dishwasher. Important The built-in water softener has settings from 0.2 - 6.5 mmol/l (1 °d - 35 °d ). Where the water hardness level is above 5.4 mmol/l (30 °d) an external water softener unit, e.g. the G 7897 Aqua-soft system will need to be fitted.

Water softener unit (optional) Filling the salt reservoir Only use special coarse grained reactivation salt with granules of approx. 1-4 mm. Do not use other salts such as cooking salt, agricultural grade or gritting salt. These may contain insoluble additives which can impair the functioning of the water softener. If in doubt consult the Miele Professional Department. The salt reservoir holds approx. 2 kg of salt.
Water softener unit (optional) Rinsing out salt residues at the end of operation Salt indicator k ^ Press the Z button. ^ Press and hold the 6 button and press Y at the same time. The rinsing process will begin which will dilute and rinse out any residual salt. – The indicator light for the Start button will come on. – The indicator light for the DRAIN programme button will also come on. – The time until the end of the rinsing process will appear in the display.
Adding rinsing agent Rinsing agent is necessary to ensure water does not cling and leave marks on items during the drying phase and to help items dry faster after they have been washed. Rinsing agent is poured into the storage reservoir and the amount set is dispensed automatically in the final rinse. Add rinsing agent indicator H G 8066 and G 8066 WES: These versions of the dishwasher are fitted as standard with a built-in rinsing agent dispensing pump. The rinsing agent container holds approx.
Adding rinsing agent Rinsing agent level indicator Please remember to fill the container in good time, it should not be allowed to empty completely. Adding rinsing agent and venting the dispensing system See "Programming special functions" for setting the dosage amount and venting the dispensing system. You should not start a programme until after the dispensing system has been vented.
Adding rinsing agent ^ Grasp the service panel handle and open the panel. ^ Take the red cap off the filler spout. ^ Using the funnel supplied fill the container with rinsing agent. ^ Replace the red cap and close the service panel.
Loading the machine Preparing the load Remove coarse residues and empty all containers before loading into the machine. ,Do not use metal scourers or wire wool to remove residues. Danger of corrosion. Only use a non-abrasive stainless steel spiral sponge, soft nylon brush, plastic sponge or similar. Inadequate pre-cleaning can block the filters and reduce the washing efficiency of the machine. Important: – Load items so that water will come into contact with all surfaces.
Loading the machine Items not suitable for dishwashers: – Cutlery with wooden or horn handles. – Wooden or plastic cutting boards. – Heat sensitive plastic items (see "Programmes with reduced final rinse temperature"). – Items, e.g. old knives with handles which have been glued on. – Hand-made craft items. – Copper or tin items. Important: – Silver and aluminium items can become discoloured. – Clouding may occur on glasses after frequent washing. See loading examples on the following pages.
Loading the machine Loading examples The dishwasher can be supplied with a standard range of baskets, or with baskets to suit your individual requirements. The diversity of inserts and baskets is so great that it is not possible to illustrate them all or give detailed instructions on their use here. For further information contact your supplier. The following illustrations show the most popular baskets with examples of loading plates, cups and cutlery.
Add cleaning agent ,Only use cleaning agents formulated for use in this type of machine. Do not use cleaning agents designed for domestic dishwashers. Some types of soiling may require different combinations of cleaning agents and other additives. The Miele Professional Department will be pleased to advise you. G 8066 and G 8066 WES: Cleaning agent can be dispensed in powder form by placing it on the inside of the door or in liquid form using an optional DOS Module G 60 dispensing system.
Add cleaning agent Adding liquid cleaning agent: The dishwasher can also be connected to an optional DOS Module G 60 for dispensing liquid cleaning agent. See "Programming special functions" for instructions on how to set the concentration level and vent the dispensing system. The external liquid cleaning agent container is connected to the dishwasher by a siphon tube. It holds approx. 5 litres.
Add cleaning agent G 8066 WES DOS and G 8066 DOS: These versions of the dishwasher are fitted, as standard, with a built-in liquid dispensing pump and reservoir for cleaning agent. The reservoir is located on the inner left hand side of the service panel. It holds approx. 1300 ml. The cleaning agent level indicator is on the left hand side of the service panel. Add cleaning agent indicator ^ Replace the blue cap and close the service panel.
Operation Preparing the machine ^ Close the door. ^ Open the stopcock. ^ Press the Y button to switch the dishwasher on. All the programme button indicator lights will light up. ^ Press the programme button for the programme you want. (see "Programme chart"). The boiler and tank will fill with water and the water will start heating up. This takes approx. 15 - 20 minutes. The waiting time left will be shown in the display. The "Boiler heating" { indicator will light up while the water is heating up.
Operation Selecting a programme At the end of a programme Choose your programme according to the type of load and the degree of soiling. 0 will appear in the display when the programme has finished. See "Programming special functions" for instructions on how to activate the buzzer function so that the buzzer will sound at the end of programme. The different programmes and their uses are described in the programme chart at the end of this booklet.
Operation Changing a programme Switching off Provided the Start button has not yet been pressed, a wrongly selected programme may be changed as described below (if it has been pressed, see "Cancelling a programme"). ^ Select the DRAIN 6 programme. The water will drain away. When the DRAIN programme has finished: ^ Press the Z button. ^ Press the programme button for the programme you want. ^ Press the Start button 6.
Programming special functions For future servicing work, please document any alterations to the standard factory settings. Enter any alterations in the relevant Value set: box. Altering the special function settings or venting the dispensing system causes the machine to drain automatically. It will save both time and energy if you carry out these procedures with an empty tank. 1.
Programming special functions 1.1 Setting the cleaning agent dispensing method ^ Press the A button repeatedly until the option you want appears. To set the dispensing method, first call up Programming level 2 as follows: Proceed to step 1.4 if you do not want to make any other changes to settings in this programming level. ^ Switch off the machine with the Z button. ^ Press and hold A and 6 at the same time and, whilst doing so, switch the machine on with the On button Y.
Programming special functions 1.2 Setting the cleaning agent dosage concentration level If the dispensing method has been programmed for liquid cleaning agent, you can alter the dispensing concentration as follows. Set the concentration level according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Only for DOS Module C 60: Also set the dosage selector on the DOS Module to position "10". Proceed to step 1.4 if you do not want to make any other changes to settings in this programming level. 1.

Setting the DOS 2 rinsing agent dosage concentration level and venting the dispensing system (Programming level 3) 2.2 Setting the rinsing agent dosage concentration level 2.1 Selecting the rinsing agent dispensing method Example: If the manufacturer recommends a concentration level of 0.03 %, a value of 030 should be set. You must first call up Programming level 3 as follows: ^ Switch off the machine with the Z button.
Programming special functions 2.3 Venting the dispensing system 2.4 To save your changes ^ Call up Programming level 3 (see 2.1). ^ Press 6. SP will appear in the display. Then, or if you were already in Programming level 3, vent the dispensing system as follows: ^ Press 6 again. The alteration is now saved. ^ Press the z button repeatedly until 3.03 appears in the display. ^ Press A. "do2" will appear in the display. ^ Press A again. The dispensing system will be vented automatically.
Programming special functions 3. Setting the main wash or final rinse temperature and / or final rinse duration (Programming level 4) Please make a note of any changes to the main wash and final rinse temperatures and / or the final rinse duration in the appropriate column of the programme chart. The factory default settings for the main wash and final rinse temperatures and for the final rinse duration are given in the programme chart.
Programming special functions 3.2 Setting the offset range for the final rinse temperature ^ Call up Programming level 4 (see 3.1). Then, or if you were already in Programming level 4, set the final rinse temperature as follows: ^ Press the z button repeatedly until 4.02 appears in the display. ^ Press button A once. The current offset range of the final rinse temperature will appear in the display, e.g. 20. The factory default setting is 20 °C (20).

Buzzer (Programming level 5) Programming level 5 allows you to activate a buzzer to sound when – a programme has finished = a reminder tone – a fault has occurred = an alarm tone You can then set the buzzer as follows: ^ Press the z button repeatedly until 5.01 appears in the display. ^ Press A once. The current status of the function will appear in the display, e.g. 0. This is the factory default setting.

Altering the programme duration (Programming level 6) 5.1 Altering the programme duration for the SHORT programme You can set the programme duration in a range from 75 seconds to 480 seconds. You must first call up Programming level 6 as follows: Lengthening the programme duration cannot alter how the programmes relate to each other with regard to time, i. e., the SHORT programme will still be the shortest programme.
Programming special functions 5.2 Altering the programme duration for the STANDARD programme 5.3 Altering the programme duration for the INTENSIVE programme ^ Call up Programming level 6 (see 5.1). ^ Call up Programming level 6 (see 5.1). Programming special functions 6. Resetting the factory default settings You can reset all parameters back to the factory default settings in Programming level 7. To do this you must first call up the factory default setting (Step 1) and then confirm the factory default settings (Step 2). Once you have confirmed the factory default settings, all settings which have been altered will be reset to the factory defaults and you will need to re-enter any changes as and when required.
Cleaning and care Cleaning the wash cabinet, tank and filters ,The dishwasher must not be used without all the filters in place. The tank and the filter combination should be inspected regularly and cleaned if necessary. How often they need to be cleaned will depend on the degree of soiling and the number of times the dishwasher is used. However, they should be cleaned at the end of every operating session.
Cleaning and care Cleaning the flat filters ,The water in the tank can be hot. The tank must be drained before removing the filters. Cleaning the fine filter ,The water in the tank can be hot. The tank must be drained before removing the filters. ^ Remove the flat filters. ^ First remove the flat filter at the front. To do this lift it up a little at the front. ^ Then remove the flat filter at the rear. To do this lift it up a little at the back. ^ Clean the filters thoroughly under running water.
Cleaning and care E-Cloth Cleaning the spray arms ^ A microfibre "E-Cloth" is available from the Miele UK Spare Parts Department, which is suitable for cleaning surfaces such as stainless steel, glass, plastic and chrome without the use of chemicals. Waste particles can lodge in the spray arm jets. It is therefore important to inspect the spray arms regularly (at least every six months).
Problem solving guide With the aid of the following guide, minor problems can be easily corrected without calling in a Miele service technician, saving you both time and money. The following guide may help you to find the reason for a fault, and to correct it. You should, however, note the following: ,Repairs should only be carried out by a suitably qualified and trained person in accordance with local and national safety regulations.
Problem solving guide Problem The wash cycle finishes early and the 6 indicator light flashes (fault code F..A appears in the display). Knocking noise in the wash cabinet. Rattling noise. Possible cause The filters in the wash cabinet are clogged. The drain pump or non-return valve may be blocked. Clean the filters, see "Cleaning and Care". Clean the drain pump and the non-return valve, see "Cleaning the drain pump and non-return valve". The drain hose is kinked. Remove any kink in the drain hose.
Problem solving guide Problem Possible cause Remedy The dishes are not clean. The dishes were not loaded correctly. Dishes were placed inside other pieces, water could not access all surfaces. The programme was not powerful enough. See "Loading the machine". The spray arm jets are blocked. Clean the spray arms, see "Cleaning and Care". The filters in the base of the wash cabinet are not clean or are not correctly fitted. This may cause the spray arm jets to get blocked.
Problem solving guide Problem Possible cause White residue is visible Not enough rinsing agent on cutlery and crockery, was used. clouding occurs on glassware; film can be wiped off. There is no salt in the salt reservoir. The salt reservoir cap has not been screwed on correctly. The rinsing agent dosage Smearing appears on glassware and cutlery, is set too high. there is a bluish sheen on the surface of glassware; film can be wiped off.
Problem solving guide Other fault codes If a fault code which is not referred to in the previous pages, appears in the display, proceed as follows: ^ Switch off the machine with the Z button. ^ Switch the machine back on with the Y button. ^ Start the DRAIN 6 programme. ^ Select a wash programme so that the boiler and tank will fill with water. If the DRAIN 6 programme will not start or the fault code appears again, call the Miele Service Department.
Problem solving Cleaning the drain pump and non-return valve The drain pump is situated under the non-return valve a. If water has not been pumped away at the end of a programme the drain pump or the non-return valve might be blocked. They are easy to clean. ,The water in the tank can be hot. Allow the residual water to cool down. ^ Remove the flat filters and the fine filter from the wash cabinet.
Problem solving Cleaning the filters in the water inlet Filters are incorporated in the screw connection of the water inlet hose to protect the water inlet valve. If these filters get dirty they need to be cleaned, otherwise insufficient water flows into the wash cabinet. ,The plastic housing of the water connection contains an electrical component. It must not be dipped in water.

Please note that telephone calls may be monitored and recorded for training purposes.
Installation Please refer to the installation diagram supplied with the machine. ,Furniture and fittings installed near the machine must be of a commercial standard able to withstand the effects of steam and condensation. The machine must be installed correctly and levelled. Any unevenness in the floor level can be compensated for and the height of the machine raised or lowered by adjusting the four screw feet.
Electrical connection UK ,All electrical work must be carried out by a suitably qualified and competent person in accordance with local and national safety regulations. – Connection should be made via a suitable isolator, with an on-off switch which should easily accessible for servicing work. – For extra safety it is advisable to install a residual current device (RCD) with a trip current of 30 mA (in accordance with DIN VDE 0664, VDE 0100 Section 739.
Plumbing Connection to the water inlet ,Water in the machine must not be used as drinking water. – The machine must be connected to the water supply in accordance with local and national water authority regulations. – This machine is constructed to comply with German water regulations (DVGW), and may be connected to a suitable supply without an extra non-return valve if national regulations permit. – The water pressure (flow rate) must be a minimum of 1 bar (100 kPa).
Plumbing Drainage – The drainage system is fitted with a non-return valve which prevents dirty water from flowing back into the machine via the drain hose. – The machine should preferably be connected to a separate drainage system on-site. If separate drainage is not available contact your Miele application specialist for professional advice. The on-site drain connection point should be sited between 0.3 m and 1 m above the lower edge of the machine. If it is lower than 0.
