Cleaning the drain pump and
non-return valve
If water has not been pumped away at
the end of a programme the drain
pump or the non-return valve might be
blocked. They are easy to clean.
,
The water in the tank can be hot.
Allow the residual water to cool
down.
^
Remove the flat filters and the fine
filter from the wash cabinet.
^
Tilt the non-return valve forwards and
then lift it upwards.
^
Rinse thoroughly under running wa
-
ter.
^
The vent hole must not be blocked.
^
If it is blocked use a pointed tool to
unblock it.
The drain pump is situated under the
non-return valve a.
^ Before replacing the non-return valve,
check that the drain pump a and the
filter b are free of obstructions.
^ Any foreign object causing an
obstruction must be removed.
^ Replace the non-return valve
carefully in the reverse order.
^
Then replace the flat filters and the
fine filter in the reverse order to how
you removed them. Ensure that the
filters sit flat in the base of the wash
cabinet.
