Problem Possible cause Remedy
Dishes, cutlery and
glasses are not dry or
are flecked.
The rinse aid amount may
be insufficient or the rinse
aid reservoir empty.
Increase the dosage or
replenish the reservoir,
see "Before using for the
first time".
Crockery was taken out of
the cabinet too soon.
Leave it in for longer, see
“Operating the dish

washer”.
White residue is visible
on cutlery and crockery,
clouding occurs on
glassware; film can be
wiped off.
Not enough rinse aid was
used.
Increase the dosage, see
"Before using for the first
time".
There is no salt in the salt
reservoir.
Add dishwasher reactiva
-
tion salt, see "Before using
for the first time".
The salt reservoir cap has
not been screwed on cor-
rectly.
Replace it making sure it
screws back on correctly.
Combination dishwasher
detergent tablets contain-
ing rinse aid and/or salt
may have been used.
Long term use of these
can impair the softener
unit if you do not replenish
salt and rinse aid as de
-
scribed in these instruc
-
tions.
Use a standard liquid,
tablet or powder deter-
gent and refill the salt and
rinse aid reservoirs in the
dishwasher!
Smearing appears on
glassware and cutlery,
there is a bluish sheen
on the surface of glass
-
ware; film can be wiped
off.
The rinse aid dosage is
set too high.
Reduce the dosage, see
"Before using for the first
time".
