Gas cooktop cleaning and care
59
Danger of injury caused by hot
burners.
The burners will be hot after use.
Turn off the cooktop.
Allow the burners to cool down
before cleaning the cooktop.
Risk of injury due to electric
shock.
The steam from a steam cleaning
appliance could reach live electrical
components and cause a short
circuit.
Never use a steam cleaner for
cleaning.
All surfaces could be discolored or
damaged if unsuitable cleaning
agents are used. All surfaces are
susceptible to scratching.
Remove any residual cleaning agent
immediately.
Do not clean with any abrasive or
sharp pointed objects.
Unsuitable cleaning agents
To avoid damaging the surfaces of your
appliance, do not use:
- cleaning agents containing soda,
alkali, ammonia, acids, or chlorides
- cleaning agents containing descaling
agents
- stain or rust removers
- abrasive cleaning agents
(e.g.,powder cleaners and cream
cleaners)
- solvent-based cleaning agents
- dishwasher cleaning agents
- grill and oven sprays
- glass cleaners
- hard, abrasive brushes or sponges
(e.g.,pot scourers, brushes, or
sponges which have been previously
used with abrasive cleaning agents)
- sharp objects
- eraser sponges
The surfaces of the burners and grates
will become more matte in the course
of time. This is quite normal and does
not indicate damage to the material.
Clean the cooktop after each use
with a soft sponge, warm water and a
small amount of liquid dish soap.
Soften any stubborn soiling
beforehand.
Dry the cooktop after using water to
clean it. This helps prevent lime
deposits.
