Safety distances to the sides and
back of the hob
Ideally the hob should be installed with
plenty of space on either side. There
may be a wall at the rear or a tall unit or
wall on one side (right or left) (see
illustrations).
a Minimum distance of 50 mm
between the back of the worktop
cut-out and the rear edge of the
worktop.
b Minimum distance of 50 mm
between the worktop cutout and a
wall or tall unit to the right of it.
c Minimum distance of 50 mm
between the worktop cutout and a
wall or tall unit to the left of it.
