Gourmet plate

Pineapple cake
Total time required: 20– 25minutes

2 eggs
80g caster sugar
1.5 ripe bananas
30g grated chocolate
100g flour

1 tin of pineapple chunks (drained
weight 240g)
1.5tbsp brown sugar
1.5tbsp desiccated coconut
Method
Beat together the eggs and sugar until
fluffy. Mash the bananas with a fork and
add to the egg mixture. Sift together the
flour and the baking powder, stir in the
grated chocolate and fold into the mix-
ture. Spread the mixture into the gour-
met plate. Scatter the drained pineapple
over the mixture and sprinkle over the
sugar and desiccated coconut. Place
the gourmet plate on the turntable.
Cook using 450Watt + Grill for approx.
10minutes until golden. Cut into 8
slices.
Quick almond tart
Total time required: 20– 25minutes

75g butter or margarine
30g caster sugar

100g chopped almonds
1 tsp of bitter almond essence
30g caster sugar
2 tsp of vanilla sugar
75ml double cream
Glaze
50g apricot jam
Method
Mix the flour, baking powder, butter and
sugar, and knead to a smooth dough.
Roll out the mixture into the gourmet
plate and build up the edges to 1cm.
Place the gourmet plate on the
turntable and pre-heat using 450W +
Grill for approx. 4minutes. For the top-
ping, melt the butter in a pan on the
hob, stir in the rest of the ingredients
and simmer for approx. 5minutes.
Whilst still hot, spoon the almond mix-
ture over the base. Place the gourmet
plate on the turntable and bake using
450W + Grill for approx. 5minutes until
golden. When cool, spread with apricot
jam. Cut into 8 slices.
