One of the main jobs of a rangehood is to
clean grease and condensate residues
from the cooking vapours with the help of
grease lters. Melting and heating food on a
cooktop causes greasy vapours which are
particularly unpleasant in the kitchen.
They form residue which is virtually
impossible to remove from walls, as well as
furniture and curtains. Grease deposits, in
conjunction with moisture and heat, provide
an ideal breeding ground for bacteria.
This makes an eective and high quality
grease lter system all the more important.
Most Miele rangehoods are equipped with
grease lters comprising two outer layers
of stainless steel and eight inner layers of
stretched aluminium. The lter frame on
these is made of stainless steel and
provides a high quality appeal.
Discolouration due to washing in a
dishwasher is therefore avoided in visible
areas.
Miele stainless steel grease lters absorb
vapour residues from both grease and
moisture. Due to the dense mesh surface,
Miele grease lters are able to hold large
quantities of grease and moisture. Filtrates
collected in this way do not need to be
collected separately and unhygienically
disposed of.
