Cleaning the drum
Washing at low temperatures and/or
using liquid detergent can cause
bacteria and unpleasant odors to build
up in the washing machine. For this
reason, Miele recommends that the
washing machine be cleaned once a
month.
Do not put laundry in the washing
machine.
Select the Sanitize program and the
Sanitize temperature.
Add ¼ cup of detergent and/or
bleach to the detergent dispensing
drawer
Start the program and let it proceed
as usual.
At the end of the program, the cleaning
of the drum is completed.
Cleaning the exterior and
control panel
Before cleaning or maintenance,
disconnect the power supply by
unplugging the unit or manually
"tripping" the circuit breaker.
Do not use a hose to wash down
the washer.
Clean the exterior of the washer with
a mild solution of non-abrasive
detergent or soap and water, and
wipe dry with a soft cloth.
Clean the drum with a stainless steel
cleaner specially formulated for use in
a washing machine, available from
Miele.
Do not use chemical solvents,
abrasive cleaners, glass or all
purpose cleaners! They will damage
the surface.
Cleaning the detergent
dispensing drawer
Washing at low temperatures and the
use of liquid detergent can lead to a
build-up of bacteria in the detergent
dispensing drawer.
For hygiene reasons, clean the entire
drawer at regular intervals.
Pull out the detergent drawer as far
as it goes. Press down on the red
release lever and pull the drawer out
of the machine.
Remove the liquid detergent inserts
Clean the detergent drawer with
warm water.
