An unsatisfactory wash result
Problem Possible cause and remedy
White residues which
look like powder
detergent are seen on
dark textiles after
washing.
The detergent contains compounds (zeolites) to aid
water softening which are not soluble in water. These
have ended up on the laundry.
Try and brush off the residues with a soft brush
once the laundry is dry.
In the future, wash dark textiles with a detergent
which contains no zeolites. Liquid detergents do
not usually contain zeolites.
Use the Dark garments programme.
Liquid detergent does
not give the required
result.
Liquid detergents usually contain no bleaching
agents. They do not remove fruit, coffee and tea
stains.
Use the Miele 2-phase system.
The targeted addition of UltraPhase 2 during the
wash process removes stains effectively.
Use a general purpose powder detergent
containing a bleaching agent.
Grey, greasy particles
cling to washed laundry.
Insufficient amounts of detergent were used. The
laundry was heavily soiled with grease (oils,
ointments).
Use more detergent or liquid detergent with this
type of soiled laundry.
Before washing the next load, run the Clean
machine programme using the Miele machine
cleaner or a powder detergent.
