Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of the Millennia
Media HV-3R Remote-Controllable High Voltage
Microphone Preamplifier. The HV-3R is the result of
meticulous listening tests on numerous circuit,
topology, and packaging designs. Your HV-3R i s a
finely tuned instrument intended for critical
professional applications we feel it offers the
world's most sonically neutral microphone
preamplification.
The HV-3R is designed to be used:
Locally via the front panel controls Referred to
as “Local Mode.
Remotely via LAN from the HV-3R Ælo g i c PC
remote control software. Up to 48 units can be
simultaneously controlled with LAN.
Remotely via MIDI. Up to 9 units can be
simultaneously controlled with MIDI in Pro Tools,
or 16 with some other MIDI device.
The HV-3R can be used as a stand-alone, locally
controlled eight-channel mic preamp similar to its
sister product, the renowned HV-3D. Optional 130V
mic inputs are available for use with high voltage
microphones, such as DPA 4003 and 4012. Two
additional buffered/balanced outputs (per channel)
are available with the optional HROE expansion
board (via DB25 connectors). Eight channels of
internal A/D conversation are also available with the
optional AD-R96 expansion card.
Up to 48 HV-3Rs can be simultaneously controlled
a total of 384 channels on one system. A high-speed
Ethernet control interface makes this possible
without any significant system control latency, even
if all 384 channels were to change parameters
simultaneously.
The MIDI control interface is compatible with
Digidesign’s Pro Tools
®
PRE remote microphone
preamplifier protocol. As defined by Digidesign, u p
to nine units can be simultaneously controlled with
MIDI in Pro Tools. Up to 16 can be controlled per
M I D I po r t with a standalone MIDI device, or other
MIDI compatible software.
