2. Pull at least 18" of the
cable from the tool. Insert
at least 12" of cable into
the drain, placing the drain
cleaner no more than 6"
from the drain opening.
WARNING! Greater dis-
tance can cause twisting,
kinking, breaking or whip-
ping of the cable.
NOTE: To avoid fatigue or
to free a hand for easier
cable feeding, the tool can
be placed on the flat tool
base during use.
3. Pull the trigger to begin rotating the cable.
NOTE: The cable can be fed without pulling the trigger,
but it may feed more easily while rotating.
4. WARNING! Wear leather gloves.Grasp the cable
close to the tool and feed it into the drain about 6" at
a time until the obstruction is reached.
NOTE: The cable is not attached to the inner drum. Use
care to insure that it does not come out of the tool. There
is a cable end indicator bulb approximately
3' away from the rear end of the cable to indicate a low
remaining distance.
5. When the clog is reached, pull the front handle into
the locked position . Move the tool and cable in a
back and forth motion until the obstruction is cleared.
If the tool binds, release the trigger immediately.
Repeat until the drain is clear.
To Unbind Drain Snake
1. Set the front handle to the unlocked position and
the forward/reverse switch to the reverse position ◄.
2. Withdraw the tool a few inches while in reverse to
free the cable.
3. Stop the tool.
4. After the tool has come to a complete stop, switch
back to the forward position.
CAUTION
Running the tool in reverse for
extended periods can cause damage
to the cable and accessories.
Removing Cable From Drain
1. Set the front handle to the unlocked position and
the forward/reverse switch to the forward position ►.
2. Pull the trigger slightly and pull the tool back to re-
move about 12" of cable from the drain.
3. Release the trigger.
4. Wipe the exposed cable with a rag and feed it back
into the tool.
5. Repeat steps 2-4 until the cable is free from the drain.
6. Before storing the tool, wash the cable and drum
(see "Cleaning Cables, Drums and Buckets" in
Maintenance).
MAINTENANCE
WARNING
To reduce the risk of injury, always
unplug the charger and remove the
battery pack from the charger or tool before per-
forming any maintenance. Never disassemble the
tool, battery pack or charger. Contact a MILWAUKEE
service facility for ALL repairs.
Maintaining Tool
Keep your tool, battery pack and charger in good repair
by adopting a regular maintenance program. Inspect
your tool for issues such as undue noise, misalignment
or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, or any
other condition that may affect the tool operation. Return
the tool, battery pack, and charger to a MILWAUKEE
service facility for repair. After six months to one year,
depending on use, return the tool, battery pack and
charger to a MILWAUKEE service facility for inspection.
If the tool does not start or operate at full power with a
fully charged battery pack, clean the contacts on the bat-
tery pack. If the tool still does not work properly, return
the tool, charger and battery pack, to a MILWAUKEE
service facility for repairs.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of personal injury
and damage, never immerse your
tool, battery pack or charger in liquid or allow a
liquid to ow inside them.
Cleaning
Clean dust and debris from vents. Keep handles clean,
dry and free of oil or grease. Use only mild soap and a
damp cloth to clean, since certain cleaning agents and
solvents are harmful to plastics and other insulated
parts. Some of these include gasoline, turpentine,
lacquer thinner, paint thinner, chlorinated cleaning sol-
vents, ammonia and household detergents containing
ammonia. Never use ammable or combustible solvents
around tools.
Cleaning Cables, Covers, Drums
and Buckets
Cables, covers, drums and buckets should be thorough-
ly ushed with water after every use to prevent damag-
ing effects of sediment and drain cleaning compounds.
WARNING! Wear leather gloves. After washing, dry the
cable, cover and drum completely. Then, wipe cable with
an oiled rag before returning it to the drum according to
the instructions in "Cable Installation".
Repairs
For repairs, return the tool, battery pack and charger to
the nearest service center.
