SMART IP EXTENDER
Layer-2 protocol - responsible for the error-free movement of data between
network nodes. Choose between the High-level Data Link Control (HDLC) and
X.75. You can leave this option untouched in case you use a standard network
connection as built in Windows or Linux.
Enable hang-up timer for incoming calls - Check to hang up an incoming
connection.
Hang-up timeout - For outgoing connections only where IP Extender is configured
for callback. When the Enable hang-up timer for incoming calls is checked, the
time out also applies to incoming calls.
IP address range - Addresses to be assigned to IP Extender and the console
computer while establishing an ISDN connection. The first address is used for IP
Extender itself. The range must have at least 3 addresses.
Enable channel bundling – Enables channel bundling.
ISDN last incoming call status – displays the status of the last incoming call.
Enable callback – Check to enable IP Extender to either call back a number that is
trying to connect or to call a different number. Both these numbers must be inputted
as explained below.
Force callback – Can only connect via inputted callback numbers. The Enable
callback box must also be checked.
Calling # - Type the phone number that can call into IP Extender. If no number is
inputted them ANY number can dial in.
Called # - Type the phone number which will be called when callback is enabled.
this could be the same as the Calling # or a different one.
User / Password - The user name and password.
Call back after [x] seconds – Check the box to make it an active callback entry.
You can also type in a time delay.

ISDN configuration - some examples
Non-callback dial in for everyone. Uncheck the Enable callback and Force callback
boxes.
Non-callback dial in for selected people. Check Enable callback. Uncheck Force
callback. Type the Calling # for the selected people. Uncheck the call back after box.
