Change the spring hooking position.
Weak:
Double feed is prevented.
Strong:
No feed is prevented.
Reference:
The spring load changes
about 15% each time the
spring is hooked in the next
slit.

Install the by-pass tray.
Step Operation

Remove the LCT from the main body.

Change the spring hooking position.
Weak:
Double feed is prevented.
Strong:
No feed is prevented.
Reference:
The spring load changes
about 10% each time the
spring is hooked in the next
slit.

Re-install the LCT.

Step Operation

Remove the following parts.
•Top cover
• Paper feed roller unit
• Double feed prevention roller

When adjusting the spring pressure for
the lower tray, open the upper unit and
detach the following parts.
• Paper feed roller unit
• Double feed prevention roller

Using flat-nose pliers, change the spring
hooking position through the hole at dou-
ble feed prevention roller.
Weak:
Double feed is prevented.
Strong:
No feed is prevented.
Reference:
Normally the spring hook-
ing position should be
changed when no feed
occurs. However, if the set-
ting for this position is too
strong, double feed may
occur for normal paper.

Install the parts, following the removal
steps in reverse.
