3.69 - Error Message: Replace OPC Drum
The OPC Drum CRU has reached end of life.
Logic control on the MCU PWB detected that the OPC Drum inside the Print Cartridge has exceeded 90,000 revolu-
tions.

SUSPECT COMPONENTS
The following components are associated with this specific prob-
lem. One or more of these components may have failed partially or
completely. If you cannot isolate the problem using this FIP,
replace each component listed below, one at a time, until the prob-
lem disappears.
• Wiring and connectors linking the components

Remove the OPC Drum and inspect the rear of the Cartridge.
Is there a CRUM Assembly installed at the rear of the Car-
tridge?
Replace the
OPC Drum
(RRP 9.48). If
the problem
still appears,
replace the
MCU PWB
(RRP 9.123)
Go to step 2

Go to Section 8 and follow the instructions on how to read the
OPC Drum Life Counter and compare that data with any know
data regarding the age and usage level of the current Cartridge.
Has the OPC Drum truly processed enough sheets of paper to
equal 90,000 revolutions (one revolution for a B/W print and
four revolutions for a color print)?
Deal with the
