Setting the Scene Mode
This sets the scene setting such as [ ] portrait, [ ] sports or [ ] night
scene and captures the image.
1. Set the mode dial to one of the scene modes.
When the camera mode is set to the [ ] or [ ], [ ] macro cannot be
selected.
2. Compose the image, press the shutter button down halfway, then press it
down fully.
The table below will help you choose the appropriate scene mode:
Scene Mode Description
[ ] Portrait Select portrait mode when you want to capture an
image that makes the person stand out against a
defocused (blurred) background.
The flash setting is fixed at [ ] which is effective
in reducing the red-eye phenomenon.
[ ] Sports Select sports mode when you want to photograph fast-
moving subjects.
In sports mode, the flash mode cannot be used.
[ ] Night scene Select night-scene mode when you want to photograph
people with an evening or night scene background.
The flash is fixed at [ ] on.
The description of each scene serves as a general guide. Set the camera
to suit your own preferences.
