SAFETY
Wood finishing can be fun and rewarding if you
follow simple safety guidelines. Always read and
follow all label directions and precautions for
the Minwax® products you are using.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old lead-based
paint, you may release lead dust. Lead is toxic. For more
information, contact the National Lead Information
Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to epa.gov/lead.
FIRST AID: If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Contact
physician immediately. For skin contact, wash thoroughly
with soap and water. If irritation persists, get medical
aention. If aected by inhalation, immediately move to
fresh air. If symptoms persist, contact physician.
FOR EYE CONTACT: Immediately flush eyes thoroughly
with water, then remove contact lenses. Continue to
flush eyes with water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation
persists, seek medical aention.
DANGER: Contains mineral spirits. Harmful or fatal if
swallowed. Do not take internally. Skin irritant. Avoid
contact with skin and eyes. Wear rubber gloves and
safety glasses when handling. Combustible. Do not use or
store near heat, sparks, flame or other source of ignition.
Close container aer each use. Avoid inhalation. If using
indoors, open all windows and doors to make sure there is
fresh air movement. Keep out of reach of children.
DANGER: Rags, steel wool and other waste soaked with
oil-based finishes and sanding residue may spontaneously
catch fire if improperly discarded. Immediately place
rags, steel wool and other waste soaked with oil-based
finishes and sanding residue in a sealed, water-filled
metal container. Dispose of in accordance with local
fire regulations.
