Mitel Networks 5700 VFA Administrators Guide 8-1
8REGISTERING AN MCU
The Mitel Networks 5700 VFA supports the use of MCUs (Multipoint Control
Unit) for connecting registered end points with a number of other end points in a
multipoint videoconference.
NOTE For Accord MGC users
The operation of Accord MGC in conjunction with the 5700 VFA requires
a special configuration. For more information, see Appendix D, Using
Accord MGC with the 5700 VFA.
8.1 Logging in a New MCU
If the 5700 VFA is in Open Mode for MCUs, any MCU that attempts to register is
automatically logged in.
If the system is in Closed Mode, an MCU must be granted login permission by an
administrator with Super User privileges. During this process, the administrator
must define or confirm the MCUs 5700 VFA properties.
É To register an MCU to the 5700 VFA
1. In the MCUs configuration application, enter the IP address of the
5700 VFA and complete the appropriate commands to register.
If the 5700 VFA is in Closed Mode for MCUs, a Login Request
notification appears on the Administrator tree.
2. Expand the Login Request item.
