LDAP
With Release 4.0.0, the 6800i Series IP phones are able to use a Lightweight Directory
Access Protocol (LDAP) server for reading directories over an IP network. When config-
ured, users are able to search for contacts, dial out to contacts, copy contacts to the
Local Directory, or simply view the contacts details.
Administrators can fully configure an LDAP Directory using the configuration files.
Additionally, users are able to enable/disable the LDAP Directory, change the default
label of the LDAP folder, and input a username and password through the phones UI
if required.
Configuring Interoperability with LDAP - Basic Parameters
Use the following basic parameters to configure basic interoperability with LDAP.
Notes:
Only the basic LDAP parameters are required to be configured for LDAP function-
ality.
Advanced LDAP parameters are optional and are not required for LDAP function-
ality. These advanced parameters can be used for advanced customization of the
LDAP directory.
