Battery Information Accessories Installation ■ Caution ■ Installing and Removing the Battery Pack In order to avoid damage to the battery, only use the Mitex charger provided. The supplied charger is an ‘intelligent’ charger and has automatic and overload-protect functions built in. Place the rechargeable battery pack onto the back of the radio. (It will only fit in one way). Snap the battery pack into place until you hear a click.
Accessories Installation Accessories Installation ■ Installing/Removing the Antenna ■ Installing the Earpiece Screw the antenna into the connector on the top of the transceiver by holding the antenna at its base and turning it clockwise until secure. (See illustration 4) First with the radio switched off release the Speak/microphone cover then insert the speaker/microphone plugs into the SP/MIC jacks.

Function and Operation Function and Operation ■ Receiving When radios receive any signal, the LED indicator will turn green. You can hear the call if the tone is correct. Note: If the transceiver is set to a higher squelch level, it may fail to hear the call. If the LED indicator turns green but you cannot hear the call, it means the signal has a matching carrier but does not have a matching CTCSS/DCS code. ■ Transmitting Scan Function Turn the channel selector knob fully clockwise to reach channel 16.

Short press: Monitor Long press: Monitor ■ Battery Save If this function is programmed by your dealer, Battery Save will be automatically activated once no activity on the channel or no operation is performed (no key pressing or any knob selection).
Troubleshooting and Maintenance Specifications ■ Troubleshooting General Problem The transceiver does not work when switched on. The battery runs out in a short time. Solution Frequency range 400-470MHz (Set by Mitex) The battery is low. Please recharge the battery pack and make sure the battery pack is properly fitted or insert a fresh battery, refit it if necessary. Swap the battery onto another radio to check if one is available.
