2. Connection example
• Connect this unit and a digital recorder by using the supplied USB cable.
• It is possible to connect some DX-ZD5UE(Z), as shown below.

HDD extension unit DX-ZD5UE(Z)
• The EXTERNAL CONTROL switch is set to ON at shipping. At this status, this unit does not work though you
connet the power cord and set the MAIN switch to ON.
Connect this unit and the recorder as “Connection to link the power supply of the recorder and this unit” shown
below.
• Up to 7 of HDD extension units can be used for one DX-TL5000U (or DX-TL5000E).
• It is not available to connect 5 or more HDD extension units in series.
Connection to link the power supply of the recorder and this unit
• Set the EXTERNAL CONTROL switch to ON and connect the terminals as shown below. It is recommended to use
this unit by linking the recorder’s power supply.
• To resume recording or copying after a power failure during normal recording or timer recording, plug this unit into
the outlet of the same system which is being used for the recorder connected.
