Parts Name and Functions Buttons, Switch, and Indicator ON OFF Remote control sensor and Power indicator UP ( Receives the signal from the remote control (when using the wireless remote control). See also page 9. Glows green when the LCD monitor is in active and glows red when the LCD is in POWER OFF mode. When the LCD is in power save mode, it will glow both green and red. Point the top of the remote control toward the LCD monitor's remote sensor during button operation. Use the remote control within a distance of about 7 m/23 ft. from the front of the LCD monitor's remote control sensor and at a horizontal and vertical angle of within 30° within a distance of about 3 m/10 ft.
Setup Procedure 1. Determine the installation location • CAUTION: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSTALL THE LCD MONITOR BY YOURSELF. Installing your LCD display must be done by a qualified technician. Contact your dealer for more information. CAUTION: MOVING OR INSTALLING THE LCD MONITOR MUST BE DONE BY TWO OR MORE PEOPLE. Failure to follow this caution may result in injury if the LCD monitor falls. Place “AAA” batteries matching the + and - signs on each battery to the + and - signs of the battery compartment.
Display the signal on the external equipment you wish. 7. Adjust the sound Make adjustments lowering or rising the volume as required. 8. Adjust the screen (See pages 24-34) Make adjustments to the display position or settings if required. How to install the stands 1. Please turn monitor off. 2. Fasten screws on both sides of the monitor. NOTE: Install the stands so that their longer portions come to the front. How to remove the stands 1. Spread the protective sheet on the flat surface, such as a desk.

The stands (legs) can not be fitted to the monitor in portrait position.

How to Mount and Attach Options to the LCD Monitor You can attach mounting accessories to the LCD monitor in one of the following two ways: 1. In the upright position 3. Ventilation Requirements for enclosure mounting To allow heat to disperse, leave space between surrounding objects as shown in the diagram below. 2. Lay the screen face down Lay the protective sheet on a table, which was wrapped around the monitor when it was packaged, beneath the screen surface so as not to scratch the screen face.

Connecting a Personal Computer By connecting your computer to your LCD monitor, you can display images on your computer's screen. Some video cards may not display an image correctly. Connect the LCD Monitor to a Personal Computer • • • • To connect the computer to the RGB 3 IN connector (mini D-sub 15 pin) on the LCD monitor, use the supplied RGB signal cable (mini D-sub 15 pin to mini D-sub 15 pin). Select “RGB 3” using the INPUT button on the LCD monitor or the D-SUB button on the remote control.
Connections can be made with equipment that is equipped with a digital interface compliant with the DVI (Digital Visual Interface) standard. Connect the LCD Monitor to a Computer with a Digital Output • • • • • To connect the computer to the RGB 2 IN connector (DVI-D) on the LCD monitor, use a DVI-D cable. Select “RGB 2” using the INPUT button on the LCD monitor or the DVI-D button on the remote control. Set DVI INPUT MODE to “DVI-PC.” (See page 31.
Connecting a DVD Player with component output / HDMI output / DVI output You can connect DVD players equipped with a component output, HDMI output, and DVI output to your LCD monitor. Refer to your DVD player owner’s manual for more information. Connect the LCD Monitor to a DVD Player • • • To connect a DVD player equipped with a component output to the DVD/HD IN connector (BNC) on the LCD monitor, you may need a BNC connector cable (BNC to RCA adaptor).
You can connect your VCR / stereo amplifier to your LCD monitor. Refer to your VCR / stereo amplifier owner's manual for more information. Connect the LCD Monitor to a VCR / Stereo Amplifier • • • To connect the VCR to the VIDEO IN connector (RCA, BNC, or S-VIDEO) on the LCD monitor, use a video cable or S-video cable. For connection to the AUDIO IN connector on the LCD monitor, use an RCA cable (audio cable). Connect the connectors of the RCA cable (audio cable) properly.
Basic Operation Power ON and OFF Modes The LCD monitor power indicator will turn green while powered on or red in off mode. The monitor can be powered on or off using the following three options: 1. Pressing the Main Power Switch. NOTE: When the Main Power Switch is used to power off the LCD monitor, the remote control and the power button will not activate the on mode and both green and red power indicator turn off. Be sure to turn the Main Power Switch to the on mode before using these two options.
NORMAL: Display the input signal aspect ratio from the PC signal, or display in 4:3 aspect ratio from the DVD/HD or VIDEO signal. FULL: Display in entire screen. DYNAMIC: Expand 4:3 pictures to the entire screen with non-linearity. (Some round image will be cut by expansion.) CUSTOM (ZOOM): Image can be expanded beyond the active display area. The image which is outside of active display area is not displayed. REAL: Image will be displayed 1 by 1 pixel.

Main-Menu PICTURE BRIGHTNESS Adjusts the overall image and background screen brightness. Press + button to increase brightness. Press - button to decrease brightness. CONTRAST Adjusts the image brightness in relation to the input signal. Press + button to increase contrast. Press - button to decrease contrast. SHARPNESS This function is digitally capable to keep crisp image at any timings. It is adjustable to get a distinct image or a soft one as you prefer and set independently for each picture mode.
AUTO BRIGHTNESS This function controls the screen brightness depending on the ambient light for easy viewing. In addition, it changes the screen brightness depending on the ambient light and what are displayed on the screen to reduce power consumption as low as possible. [AUTO BRIGHTNESS] LOCAL: The auto brightness function is enabled. REMOTE: The auto brightness function is enabled. In addition, the monitor enters the intercommunication mode where multiple monitors are controlled collectively.

Main-Menu ADVANCED OPTION INPUT RESOLUTION * : INPUT RGB3, 4, 5 only Selects to decision of input signal about below timings, 1024x768, 1280x768 and 1360x768. AUTO: Determines the resolution automatically. 1024x768: Determines the resolution as 1024x768 1280x768: Determines the resolution as 1280x768 1360x768: Determines the resolution as 1360x768 The setting you select becomes effective when POWER is turned OFF and ON again.
HEAT STATUS Information of status for COOLING FAN, BRIGHTNESS and TEMPERATURE. COOLING FAN comes to run when inside temperature is over a guaranteed limit. In this case warning is displayed on the screen. POWER ON DELAY Adjusts the delay time from “standby” to “power on” mode. “POWER ON DELAY” time is selectable from 0-50 seconds. DATE AND TIME Adjusts the current date and time for internal clock. You should set this function when you use “SCHEDULE”. SCHEDULE Programs the monitor's working schedule.
NOTE < IMAGE PERSISTENCE > Please be aware that LCD Technology may experience a phenomenon known as Image Persistence. Image Persistence occurs when residual or “ghost” image of a previous image remains visible on the screen. Unlike CRT monitors, LCD monitors’ image persistence is not permanent, but constant images being displayed for a long period of time should be avoided. To alleviate image persistence, turn off the monitor for as long as the previous image was displayed.
The following table shows the combination of signal inputs under which the “PIP” and “POP” modes function. These modes do not function, however, when the screen size is “CUSTOM” or “REAL”.
To use a computer to control the monitors When using a computer to control the monitors, you must prepare an application software program for control by yourself. 1. Connect the RS-232C IN connector of the Master monitor shown above and the RS-232C connector of the computer using an RS-232C cable. Or, using a CAT5 cable, connect the RS-232C connector of the computer to the CAT5 IN connector of the Master monitor via the CAT5 Tx BOX. 2. Assign a monitor ID to each multi-connected MDT421S using MONITOR ID.
This LCD monitor can be controlled by a personal computer connected with an RS-232C cable or a CAT5 cable via the CAT5 Tx BOX (option) and CAT5 Rx BOX (option). Functions that can be controlled by the personal computer are: • Power ON or OFF • Switching between input signals Connection Connection by RS-232C (For RS-232C cable, the reverse type cable should be used.
3) Control sequence (1) The command from a computer to the LCD monitor will be sent in 600 ms. (2) The LCD monitor will send a return command 600 ms* after it has received and encoded. If the command isn’t received correctly, the LCD monitor will not send the return command. (3) The personal computer checks the command and confirms if the command, which has been sent, has been executed or not. (4) This LCD monitor sends various codes other than return code.
Features Allows you to adjust the colors on your screen and customize the color accuracy of your monitor to a variety of standards. sRGB Color Control: A new optimized color management standard which allows for color matching on computer displays and other peripherals. The sRGB standard, which is based on a calibrated color space, allows for optimal color representation and backward compatibility with other common color standards.
Troubleshooting No picture • • • • • • • The signal cable should be completely connected to the display card/computer. The display card should be completely seated in its slot. Front Power Switch and computer power switch should be in the ON position. Check to make sure that a supported mode has been selected on the display card or system being used. (Please consult display card or system manual to change graphics mode.
• • • English No Sound Check to see if speaker cable is properly connected. Check to see if mute is activated. Check to see if volume is set at minimum. Remote Control is not available • • • Check the Remote Control’s batteries status. Check if batteries are inserted correctly. Check if the Remote Control is pointing at the monitor’s remote sensor. “SCHEDULE”/“OFF TIMER” function is not working properly • • The “SCHEDULE” function will be disabled when the “OFF TIMER” is set.

Die Teile und ihre Funktionen Bedienung und Funktionen des Monitors ON OFF Fernbedienungssensor und Betriebsanzeige Empfängt das Signal von der Fernbedienung. Vgl. Seite 9. Leuchtet grün, wenn der LCD-Monitor betriebsbereit ist, und rot, wenn der LCD-Monitor ausgeschaltet ist. Wenn sich der LCDMonitor im Energiesparmodus befindet, leuchtet die LED grün und rot. Wenn ZEITPLAN aktiviert wurde, blinkt sie grün und leuchtet rot. (Vgl. Seite 21.) Bei Erkennung eines Fehlers blinkt die LED rot.
Anschlüsse (OUT) (OUT) (IN) (IN) (IN) EXTERNAL SPEAKER TERMINAL CAT5 Rx BOX Einschubrahmen Die CAT5 Rx BOX (Option) wird in diesen Einschubrahmen eingesteckt. (Siehe Seite 12.) Ausgang fur das Audiosignal fur externe Lautsprecher von den Anschlussbuchsen AUDIO 1, 2, 3 oder HDMI. HINWEIS: Schließen Sie auf keinen Fall Netzwerkgeräte an die CAT5 INund OUT-Stecker an. Fernbedienung Taste AUDIO INPUT Hiermit wird die Audio-Quelle der einzelnen Video-Quellen umgeschaltet. Die Audio-Quelle wird zwischen [AUDIO1], [AUDIO2], [AUDIO3] und [HDMI] in dieser Reihenfolge umgeschaltet. Beachten Sie bitte, dass Sie keine Audio-Quelle für [VIDEO] oder [VIDEO] auswählen können. [HDMI] kann nur dann ausgewählt werden, wenn es sich bei der Video-Quelle um [RGB 1] handelt. Taste PIP (Bild im Bild) Taste ON/OFF: PIP-ON/OFF. Vgl. Seite 27, 33.
Richten Sie die Vorderseite der Fernbedienung bei der Tastenbenutzung auf den Fernbedienungssensor des LCD-Monitors. Sie können die Fernbedienung in einem Abstand von etwa 7 m von der Vorderseite des Fernbedienungssensors am LCD-Monitor verwenden. Bei einem Abstand von maximal 3 m kann die Fernbedienung in einem horizontalen bzw. vertikalen Winkel bis 30° eingesetzt werden.

HINWEIS < BILDSCHATTEN > Bei Geräten mit LCD-Technologie tritt ein Phänomen auf, das als Bildschatten bekannt ist. Bildschatten sind verbleibende oder sogenannte „Geister“-Bilder, die vom vorhergehenden Bild sichtbar auf dem Bildschirm bleiben. Im Unterschied zu CRT-Monitoren ist der Bildschatten auf LCD-Monitoren nicht dauerhafter Natur, aber die Anzeige von Standbildern über eine längere Zeit sollte vermieden werden.
< PIP, POP und SIDE BY SIDE > Die folgende Tabelle zeigt die Kombinationen der Signaleingange, bei denen die „PIP“- und „POP“-Modi funktionieren. Diese Modi funktionieren jedoch nicht, wenn die Bildschirmgrose „CUSTOM“ (Anwender) oder „REAL“ (Echt) ist.
Steuerung der Monitore über Computer Bei Steuerung der Monitore über Computer müssen Sie selbst ein entsprechendes Steuerprogramm eingeben. 1. Steuern des LCD-Monitors mittels RS-232C/RS-485-Steuerung Dieser LCD-Monitor kann über einen PC, der mit einem RS-232C- oder CAT5-Kabel an die CAT5 Tx BOX (Option) und die CAT5 Rx BOX (Option) angeschlossen ist, gesteuert werden.
3) Steuerungsablauf (1) Der Befehl von einem Computer an den LCD-Monitor wird innerhalb von 600 ms gesendet. (2) Der LCD-Monitor sendet 600 ms* nach Empfang und Ausführung eines Codes einen Rückkehrbefehl. Wenn der Befehl nicht korrektempfangen wurde, sendet der LCD-Monitor keinen Rückkehrbefehl. (3) Der PC prüft den Befehl und kontrolliert damit, ob der gesendete Befehl ausgeführt wurde. (4) Dieser LCD-Monitor sendet außer dem Rückkehrcode verschiedene Codes.
Merkmale und Funktionen Farbsteuerungssysteme: Ermöglicht die Einstellung der Farben auf dem Bildschirm und die Anpassung der Farbtreue des Monitors an eine Reihe von Standards. OSD-Steuerungen (On-Screen Display): Sie können das Bild schnell und einfach mit auf dem Bildschirm angezeigten Menüs einstellen.
Fehlerbehebung Kein Bild • • • • • • • Das Signalkabel muss richtig mit Grafikkarte/Computer verbunden sein. Die Grafikkarte muss richtig in den Steckplatz eingesetzt sein. Die Netzschalter an der Vorderseite des Monitors und am Computer müssen sich in der Position EIN befinden. Überprüfen Sie, ob ein von der verwendeten Grafikkarte unterstützter Modus ausgewählt wurde. Kein Ton • • • Prüfen Sie, ob das Lautsprecherkabel richtig angeschlossen ist. Prüfen Sie, ob die Stummschaltung aktiviert wurde. Conexión a un equipo de interfaz digital Se pueden establecer conexiones con equipos que tienen una interfaz digital que cumpla el estándar DVI (Digital Visual Interface). • • • • • Para conectar el conector RGB 2 IN (DVI-D) del monitor LCD, utilice un cable DVI-D. Seleccione RGB 2 con el botón INPUT del monitor LCD o el botón DVI-D del mando a distancia. Establezca “DVI INPUT MODE” a “DVI-PC”. (Véase la página 31) Para conectar el conector RGB 1 IN (HDMI) del monitor LCD, utilice un cable HDMI.
Conexión de un reproductor de DVD con salida para componentes/salida HDMI/salida DVI Si conecta un reproductor de DVD al monitor LCD, podrá ver en éste las imágenes del DVD. Consulte el manual del usuario del fabricante del DVD para obtener más información. Conecte el monitor LCD a un reproductor de DVD • • • Para conectar el conector DVD/HD IN (BNC) al monitor LCD, utilice un cable de conector BNC que está disponible por separado.
Conexión a una VCR/amplificador estéreo Usted podrá conectar su VCR/amplificador estéreo a su monitor LCD. Consulte el manual del usuario de la VCR/amplificador estéreo para obtener más información. • • • Para conectar el conector VIDEO IN (RCA, BNC o S-VIDEO) del monitor LCD, utilice un cable de vídeo o un cable S-Video. Utilice un cable RCA o un cable S-Vídeo S-Video disponible en el comercio. Para conectar el conector AUDIO IN (RCA) del monitor LCD, utilice un cable RCA.
Funcionamiento básico Modos Encendido y Apagado El indicador de corriente del monitor LCD se iluminará de color verde cuando esté encendido y de color rojo si está apagado. VENTILADOR se activa si la temperatura interior supera el límite de seguridad. En este caso se uestra una advertencia en la pantalla. POWER ON DELAY (DEMORA DEL ENCENDIDO) Ajusta el tiempo de demora de “en espera” a “encendido”. El tiempo de “POWER ON DELAY” (DEMORA DEL ENCENDIDO) se puede seleccionar de 0-50 segundos.
NOTA < PERSISTENCIA DE LA IMAGEN > Tenga en cuenta que la tecnología LCD puede sufrir un fenómeno conocido como persistencia de la imagen. La persistencia de la imagen se produce cuando en la pantalla permanece la "sombra" o el remanente de una imagen. A diferencia de los monitores CRT, la persistencia de la imagen de los monitores con pantalla de cristal líquido no es permanente, pero se debe evitar visualizar patrones fijos en el monitor durante largos períodos de tiempo.
< PIP, POP y SIDE BY SIDE > La siguiente tabla muestra la combinacion de senales de entrada bajo las que funcionan los modos “PIP” y “POP”. Sin embargo, estos modos no funcionan si el tamano de pantalla es “CUSTOM” (personalizado) o “REAL” (real).
Para utilizar un ordenador a fin de controlar los monitores Para utilizar un ordenador a fin de controlar los monitores, tendrá que preparar un programa de software de aplicación para control usted mismo. 1. Conecte el conector RS-232C IN del monitor Principal mostrado arriba y el conector RS-232C del ordenador utilizando un cable RS-232C. O, utilizando un cable CAT5, conecte el conector RS-232C del ordenador al conector CAT5 IN del monitor Principal a través de la CAJA CAT5 Tx. 2.
Control del monitor LCD mediante control remoto RS-232C/RS-485 Este monitor LCD puede ser controlado por un ordenador personal conectado con un cable RS-232C o un cable CAT5 mediante el CAT5 Tx BOX (opción) y el CAT5 Rx BOX (opción). Las funciones que se pueden controlar mediante un ordenador personal son las siguientes: • Encendido y apagado • Cambio entre señales de entrada Conexiones Conexión mediante RS-232C (Para el cable RS-232C, se debe utilizar el cable tipo inverso.
3) Secuencia de control (1) El comando de un ordenador al monitor LCD se enviará dentro de un tiempo máximo de 600 ms. (2) El monitor LCD enviará un comando de retorno 600 ms* después de recibir y ejecutar un código. Si el comando no se recibe correctamente, el monitor LCD no enviará el comando de retorno. (3) El ordenador personal comprueba el comando y confirma si el comando que se ha enviado se ha ejecutado o no. (4) El monitor LCD envía diversos códigos además del código de retorno.
Características Sistemas de control del color: Permite ajustar los colores de la pantalla y configurar la precisión del color del monitor según diversos estándares. Control del color sRGB: Nueva función de gestión del color optimizada estándar que permite ajustar el color en las pantallas del ordenador y otros aparatos periféricos. El estándar sRGB, que está basado en el segmento de color calibrado, permite representar óptimamente el color y recuperar la compatibilidad con otros colores estándar comunes.
Solución de problemas No hay imagen • • • • • • • El cable de señal debería estar completamente conectado a la tarjeta de visualización o al ordenador. La tarjeta de visualización debería estar completamente insertada en la ranura correspondiente. El Interruptor de encendido frontal y el del ordenador deben estar en la posición ENCENDIDO. Asegúrese de que se ha seleccionado un modo disponible en la tarjeta de visualización o el sistema que se está utilizando.
Los altavoces no reproducen el sonido • • • Compruebe que el cable del altavoz está conectado correctamente. Compruebe si está activada la función Silencio. Compruebe si el volumen está al mínimo. El mando a distancia no funciona • • • Compruebe el estado de las pilas del mando a distancia. Compruebe que las pilas estén colocadas correctamente. Compruebe que el mando a distancia apunte hacia el sensor remoto del monitor.

< Distance d’utilisation de la télécommande > 30° Français Pointez pendant le réglage des boutons le haut de la télécommande en direction du capteur à distance du moniteur. Utilisez la télécommande à une distance d’environ 7 m de l’avant du capteur à distance et à un angle horizontal et vertical de 30° à une distance d’environ 3 m.
Installation 1. Choix de l’emplacement du moniteur ATTENTION: NE TENTEZ PAS D’EFFECTUER VOUS-MÊME L’INSTALLATION DU MONITEUR L’installation de l’écran doit être effectuée par un technicien qualifié. Connexion à un PC La connexion d’un PC à votre moniteur vous permettra d’afficher l’image présente sur l’écran de votre micro-ordinateur. Il est possible que certaines cartes vidéo n’affichent pas correctement une image. Connexion du moniteur à un PC • • • • Pour connecter la prise RVB 3 IN (mini D-sub 15 broches) du moniteur, utilisez le câble vidéo RVB qui est fourni avec le matériel (mini D-sub 15 broches vers mini D-sub 15 broches).
Connexions avec du matériel à interface numérique Il est possible d’établir des connexions avec du matériel équipé d’une interface numérique compatible DVI (Digital Visual Interface). Connexion du moniteur à un ordinateur équipé d’une sortie numérique • • • • Pour raccorder le connecteur RVB 2 IN (DVI-D) sur le moniteur LCD, utilisez un câble DVI-D. Opération de base Modes MARCHE et ARRÊT L’indicateur d’alimentation du moniteur passe au vert lorsque ce dernier est sous tension, et au rouge lorsque le moniteur est en mode ARRÊT. Utilisation d’un ordinateur pour contrôler les moniteurs Lorsqu’on utilise un ordinateur pour contrôler les moniteurs, vous devez préparer un programme d’application faisant partie du logiciel pour pouvoir contrôler par vous-même. 1. Raccordez le connecteur RS-232C IN du moniteur principal montré ci-dessus et le connecteur RS-232C de l’ordinateur, en utilisant un câble RS-232C.
Contrôle à distance du moniteur via une interface RS-232C/RS-485 Ce moniteur LCD peut être contrôlé par un ordinateur relié à l’aide d’un câble RS-232C ou CAT5 via le CAT5 Tx BOX (en option) et le CAT5 Rx BOX (en option). Procedura di installazione 1. NOTA < PERSISTENZA DELL’IMMAGINE > Tenere presente che la tecnologia LCD può provocare un fenomeno noto come persistenza dell’immagine. La persistenza dell’immagine si verifica quando un’immagine residua o “fantasma” di un’immagine precedente rimane visibile sullo schermo. A differenza dei monitor CRT, la persistenza dell’immagine dei monitor LCD non è permanente, ma bisogna evitare di visualizzare immagini costanti per lungo tempo.

Per usare un computer per controllare i monitor Quando si utilizza un computer per controllare i monitor, si deve predisporre un programma applicativo software per eseguire il controllo personalmente. 1. Collegare il connettore RS-232C IN del monitor Master mostrato sopra e il connettore RS-232C del computer, utilizzando un cavo RS-232C. Altrimenti, utilizzando un cavo CAT5, collegare il connettore RS-232C del computer al connettore CAT5 IN del monitor Master tramite il box di giunzione CAT5 Tx. 2.
Controllo del monitor LCD attraverso il controllo remoto RS-232C/RS-485 Questo monitor LCD può essere controllato da un PC collegato con un cavo RS-232C o CAT5 mediante il trasmettitore CAT5 Tx BOX e il ricevitore CAT5 Rx BOX (opzionali). Le funzioni che possono essere controllate da un personal computer sono: • Attivazione/disattivazione • Commutazione tra segnali d’ingresso Connessione Collegamento tramite RS-232C (Per il cavo RS-232C, e necessario usare il tipo di cavo inverso.
3) Sequenza di controllo (1) Il comando lanciato da un computer al monitor LCD viene inviato entro 600 ms. (2) Il monitor LCD invia un comando di ritorno 600 ms* dopo averlo ricevuto e codificato. Se il comando non viene ricevuto in modo corretto, il monitor LCD non invia il comando di ritorno. (3) Il PC controlla il comando e conferma se il comando inviato è stato eseguito oppure no. (4) Questo monitor LCD invia altri codici diversi da quello di ritorno.
Caratteristiche Sistemi di controllo del colore: Permette la regolazione dei colori dello schermo e la personalizzazione della precisione dei colori per diversi standard. Controllo del colore sRGB: Un nuovo standard di gestione ottimizzata del colore che permette l’adattamento del colore sugli schermi del computer e su altre periferiche.
Risoluzione dei problemi Nessuna immagine • • • • • • • Il cavo di segnale deve essere ben collegato alla scheda video del computer. La scheda video deve essere completamente inserita nel suo slot. L’interruttore di alimentazione sulla parte anteriore e l’interruttore di alimentazione del computer devono essere in posizione ON. Assicurarsi che sulla scheda video o sul sistema usato sia stato selezionato un modo supportato.

Connectors en aansluitingen (OUT) (IN) (OUT) (IN) (IN) (IN) EXTERNAL SPEAKER TERMINAL CAT5 Rx BOX-sleuf De CAT5 Rx BOX (optie) wordt aangesloten op deze sleuf. (Zie pagina 12.) OPMERKING: Sluit nooit netwerkapparaten aan op de aansluitingen CAT5 IN en CAT5 OUT. Als u dit wel doet, kunnen deze elkaar verstoren en kan het apparaat defect gaan. Draadloze afstandsbediening Knop AUDIO INPUT (Geluidsinvoer) Druk op deze toets om de geluidsbron van iedere videobron te veranderen. De geluidsbron schakelt achtereenvolgens over van [AUDIO1] naar [AUDIO2], [AUDIO3] en [HDMI]. Merk op dat u voor [VIDEO] en [VIDEO] niet van geluidsbron kunt veranderen. [HDMI] is alleen beschikbaar wanneer de videobron [RGB 1] is. Knop PIP (Picture In Picture) (Beeld in beeld) AAN/UIT-schakelaar: PIP, -ON/OFF. Zie pagina 27, 33.
Richt bij het indrukken van een knop de voorkant van de afstandsbediening op de sensor voor de afstandsbediening op de LCD-monitor. Gebruik de afstandsbediening binnen een afstand van ongeveer 7 m vanaf de voorkant van de afstandsbedieningssensor van de LCD-monitor en binnen een horizontale en verticale hoek van minder dan 30° binnen een afstand van ongeveer 3 m.
Installatieprocedure 1. De installatielocatie bepalen LET OP!: PROBEER DE LCD-MONITOR NIET ZELF TE INSTALLEREN. De installatie van de LCD-monitor moet door een bevoegde technicus worden uitgevoerd. Neem contact op met uw leverancier voor meer informatie. LET OP!: DE LCD-MONITOR MOET DOOR TWEE OF MEER PERSONEN WORDEN VERPLAATST OF GEÏNSTALLEERD. Als deze veiligheidsmaatregel niet in acht wordt genomen, kan dit leiden tot persoonlijk letsel als de LCD-monitor valt.

OPMERKING: De CAT5 Kit is een optie die is ontworpen voor de MDT421S. Zie de handleiding voor de CAT5 Kit (optie) voor de gedetailleerde bevestigingsprocedure. Let op!: De staande beeldrichting is alleen doeltreffend bij wand- of plafondbevestiging.
1. Verbind de USB-aansluiting van de meegeleverde CAT5 Tx BOX met de corresponderende aansluiting van de computer met behulp van een los verkrijgbare USB-kabel. (Wanneer het USB-stuurprogramma niet beschikbaar is, sluit u bovendien een RS-232C-kabel aan in aanvulling op de USB-kabel. In dit geval wordt de USB-kabel gebruikt voor het leveren van de stroom aan de CAT5 Tx BOX.) Zie pagina 35. 2.
Opties voor de LCD-monitor monteren en aansluiten U kunt op een van de volgende twee manieren monteerbare accessoires op de LCD-monitor aansluiten: 1. Bij de verticale positie 3. Ventilatievereisten voor de montage van de behuizing Zorg ervoor dat warmte kan worden afgevoerd door ruimte tussen de omringende voorwerpen te laten (zie de afbeelding hieronder). 2.
Aansluitingen Voordat u aansluitingen tot stand brengt: * * Schakel eerst de stroomtoevoer naar alle aangesloten apparatuur uit en breng de benodigde verbindingen aan. Raadpleeg de handleidingen van de betrokken externe apparaten.
Een personal computer aansluiten Als u uw computer aansluit op de LCD-monitor, kunt u het beeld van de computer weergeven. Sommige videokaarten geven het beeld mogelijk niet correct weer. De LCD-monitor aansluiten op een personal computer • • • • Als u de RGB 3 IN-connector (15-pins mini D-SUB) op de LCD-monitor wilt aansluiten, gebruikt u de meegeleverde PCVideo RGB-signaalkabel (15-pins mini D-SUB naar 15-pins mini D-SUB).
Verbindingen met apparatuur met een digitale interface U kunt verbindingen tot stand brengen met apparaten die zijn uitgerust met een digitale interface die voldoet aan de DVI-norm (Digital Visual Interface). De LCD-monitor aansluiten op een computer met digitale uitvoer • • • • Om de RGB 2 IN-aansluiting (DVI-D) op de LCD-monitor te gebruiken, hebt u een DVI-D kabel nodig. Selecteer RGB 2 met de INPUT-knop op de LCD-monitor of de DVI-D knop op de afstandsbediening. Zet de “DVI INPUT MODE” op “DVI-PC”.
Een DVD-speler met een componentuitgang/HDMI-uitgang/DVI-uitgang aansluiten Als u uw DVD-speler aansluit op de LCD-monitor, kunt u het beeld van de DVD-speler weergeven. Raadpleeg de gebruikershandleiding bij de DVD-speler voor meer informatie. De LCD-monitor aansluiten op een DVD-speler • • • Als u de DVD/HD IN-connector (BNC) op de LCD-monitor wilt aansluiten, gebruikt u een afzonderlijk verkrijgbare BNCconnectorkabel.
Een videorecorder/stereoversterker aansluiten U kunt een videorecorder/stereoversterker op de LCD-monitor aansluiten. Raadpleeg de handleiding van uw videorecorder/stereoversterker voor verdere informatie. De LCD-monitor aansluiten op een videorecorder/stereoversterker • • • Voor aansluiting op de VIDEO IN-aansluiting (RCA, BNC of S-VIDEO) van de LCD-monitor hebt u een videokabel of S-videokabel nodig. Gebruik een los verkrijgbare RCA-kabel of S-videokabel.
Basisbediening Modus AAN en modus UIT De stroomindicator van de LCD-monitor wordt groen wanneer de monitor aan is en rood wanneer de monitor uit is. De monitor kan op de volgende drie manieren worden in- of uitgeschakeld: 1. De hoofdschakelaar indrukken. OPMERKING: Als u de LCD-monitor uitzet met de hoofdschakelaar, kunt u de modus AAN niet activeren met de afstandsbediening of de aan/uit-knop, en zowel de groene als rode stroomindicator gaan uit.

OSD-besturingselementen (On-Screen-Display) Druk op de knop MENU (Menu) om het hoofdmenu te openen. Druk op de OMHOOGof OMLAAG-knop om een submenu te selecteren. Hoofdmenu PICTURE (BEELD) BRIGHTNESS (Helderheid) Hiermee stelt u de algemene helderheid van het beeld en de achtergrond op het scherm in. Druk op de ‘+’-knop om de helderheid te verhogen. Druk op de ‘–’-knop om de helderheid te verlagen. CONTRAST (Contrast) Hiermee stelt u de helderheid van het beeld in verhouding tot het ingangssignaal in. Druk op de ‘+’-knop om het contrast te vergroten. Druk op de ‘–’-knop om het contrast te verkleinen.

AUTO BRIGHTNESS (Automatische helderheidsfunctie) Deze functie regelt de helderheid van het scherm overeenkomstig de hoeveelheid omgevingslicht zodat het beeld goed zichtbaar is. Bovendien wordt de helderheid van het scherm bijgeregeld overeenkomstig de eigenschappen van het omgevingslicht en wat er op het scherm wordt weergegeven, om een zo laag mogelijk stroomverbruik te verkrijgen.
Hoofdmenu SCREEN (SCHERM) H POSITION (Horizontale positie) Hiermee stelt u de horizontale positie van het beeld binnen het weergavegebied van het LCD in. Druk op de ‘+’-knop om het beeld naar rechts te verplaatsen. Druk op de ‘–’-knop om het beeld naar links te verplaatsen. V POSITION (Verticale positie) Hiermee stelt u de verticale positie van het beeld binnen het weergavegebied van het LCD in. Druk op de ‘+’-knop om het beeld omhoog te verplaatsen. Druk op de ‘–’-knop om het beeld omlaag te verplaatsen.
Hoofdmenu AUDIO (GELUID) BALANCE Hiermee kunt u de balans van het geluidsvolume (L/R) aanpassen. Druk op de toets + om het stereogeluidsbeeld naar rechts te verplaatsen. Het geluidsvolume links wordt verlaagd. Druk op de toets - om het stereogeluidsbeeld naar links te verplaatsen. TREBLE (Hoge tonen) Hiermee accentueert of reduceert u het geluid met een hoge frequentie. Druk op de '+'-knop om de hoge tonen te accentueren. Druk op de '–'-knop om de hoge tonen te reduceren.
Hoofdmenu CONFIGURATION 1 (CONFIGURATIE 1) AUTO SETUP (Automatische instelling) * : alleen INPUT RGB3, 4, 5 Druk op de toets “SET” (instellen) om automatisch het beeldformaat, de horizontale positie, verticale positie, klok, klokfase, witniveau en het zwartniveau in te stellen. Druk op de knop “EXIT” (afsluiten) om de uitvoering van AUTO SETUP te annuleren en terug te keren naar het voorgaande menu.
Hoofdmenu CONFIGURATION 2 (CONFIGURATIE 2) CAT5 CONTROL * : Kan alleen worden geselecteerd wanneer de optionele CAT5 Rx BOX bevestigd is. [CAT5 CABLE LENGTH] Nadat u de kabellengte hebt geselecteerd, worden automatisch alle standaardwaarden voor de instellingen gekozen. Selecteer de lengte die het dichtst bij de feitelijke lengte van de kabel is. [CAT5 EQ] Kies de instelling waarbij waas en smear van de weergegeven letters en grafische objecten minimaal is.
Hoofdmenu ADVANCED OPTION INPUT RESOLUTION * : alleen INPUT RGB3, 4, 5 Hiermee kunt u selecteren welk ingangssignaal wordt geselecteerd, 1024x768, 1280x768 en 1360x768. AUTO: De resolutie wordt automatisch bepaald. 1024x768: De resolutie wordt ingesteld op 1024x768 1280x768: De resolutie wordt ingesteld op 1280x768 1360x768: De resolutie wordt ingesteld op 1360x768 Na het instellen is deze functie beschikbaar na POWER OFF en vervolgens ON.
Vervolg van de vorige pagina. HEAT STATUS Informatie over de status van de instellingen COOLING FAN, BRIGHTNESS en TEMPERATURE. COOLING FAN activeert de koelventilator wanneer de binnentemperatuur de gegarandeerde limiet overschrijdt. In dit geval wordt op het scherm een waarschuwing weergegeven. POWER ON DELAY Hiermee stelt u de vertragingstijd in tussen stand-by en inschakelen. De “POWER ON DELAY” tijd kan worden ingesteld op een tijd tussen 0-50 seconden.
OPMERKING Bij de LCD-technologie kan een fenomeen optreden dat bekend staat als een “inbranding”. Van inbranding of ingebrand beeld is sprake wanneer een “schaduw” van een vorig beeld op het scherm zichtbaar blijft. In tegenstelling tot CRT-monitoren is een inbranding op een LCD-monitor niet van blijvende aard, maar de weergave van niet-veranderende beelden gedurende langere tijd moet worden vermeden.
< PIP, POP en SIDE BY SIDE > De volgende tabel toont de combinatie van ingevoerde signalen waarbij de “PIP”- en “POP”-modi werken. Deze modi werken evenwel niet wanneer het beeldformaat “CUSTOM” (aangepast) of “REAL” (werkelijk) is.
Gebruik van een computer voor de bediening van de monitoren Wanneer u een computer gebruikt om de monitoren te bedienen, dient u zelf de toepassingssoftware klaar te maken. 1. Verbind de RS-232C IN-aansluiting van de hiervoor aangegeven Master-monitor met de RS-232C aansluiting van de computer met behulp van een RS-232C kabel. Of, gebruik een CAT5-kabel en verbind hiermee de RS-232C aansluiting van de computer met de CAT5 IN-aansluiting van de Master-monitor via de CAT5 Tx BOX. 2.
De LCD-monitor bedienen met de RS-232C/RS-485 afstandsbediening Deze lcd-monitor kan worden bediend via een computer die is aangesloten met een RS-232C-kabel of met een CAT5-kabel via de CAT5 Tx BOX (optioneel) en CAT5 Rx BOX (optioneel). De functies die met behulp van de pc kunnen worden geregeld, zijn: • Aan- en uitschakelen • Een ander ingangssignaal selecteren Verbinding Aansluiten via RS-232C (Voor een RS-232C-kabel moet het omgekeerde kabeltype worden gebruikt.
3) Besturingsreeks (1) De opdracht van een computer naar de LCD-monitor wordt binnen 600 ms verzonden. (2) De LCD-monitor verzendt een retouropdracht 600 ms* nadat deze een code heeft ontvangen en gedecodeerd. Als de opdracht niet correct is ontvangen, verzendt de LCD-monitor de retouropdracht niet. (3) De pc controleert de opdracht en bevestigt of de opdracht die is verzonden, al of niet is uitgevoerd. (4) De LCD-monitor verzendt nog diverse andere codes naast de retourcode.
Kenmerken Kleurenbeheersystemen: Hiermee kunt u de kleuren van het scherm aanpassen en de kleurjuistheid van de monitor aanpassen aan een groot aantal standaarden. sRGB-kleurenbeheer: Een nieuwe, geoptimaliseerde standaard voor kleurenbeheer die zorgt dat kleuren op computerschermen en andere randapparatuur met elkaar overeenstemmen. De sRGB-standaard, die is gebaseerd op de gekalibreerde kleurenruimte, biedt optimale kleurenweergave en compatibiliteit met andere (oudere) veelgebruikte kleurenstandaarden.
Problemen oplossen Geen beeld • • • • • • • De signaalkabel moet goed en volledig zijn aangesloten op de poort van de videokaart/computer. Zorg dat de videokaart correct in de computer is geplaatst. Zorg dat de aan/uit-knop van de computer en de aan/uit-knop aan de voorkant van de monitor zijn ingeschakeld. Controleer of op de videokaart of het systeem wel degelijk een ondersteunde modus is geselecteerd.
Geen geluid • • • Controleer of de kabel van de luidspreker correct is aangesloten. Controleer of de geluidsdemping is ingeschakeld. Controleer of het volume op de minimumwaarde is ingesteld. De afstandsbediening is niet beschikbaar • • • Controleer de status van de batterijen van de afstandsbediening. Controleer of de batterijen goed in de afstandsbediening zijn geplaatst. Controleer of de afstandsbediening op de sensor voor de afstandsbediening van de monitor is gericht.

< Зона действия пульта дистанционного управления > Нажимая кнопки, направляйте верхнюю часть пульта дистанционного управления на дистанционный датчик ЖКД монитора. Пульт дистанционного управления следует использовать на расстоянии приблизительно до 7 метров от внешней стороны датчика дистанционного управления на ЖК-мониторе и при горизонтальном и вертикальном отклонении в пределах 30° на расстоянии до 3 метров.
Процедура установки • 1. Определите место установки ВНИМАНИЕ: НЕ ПЫТАЙТЕСЬ УСТАНАВЛИВАТЬ ЖКД МОНИТОР САМОСТОЯТЕЛЬНО Установка ЖКД дисплея должна выполняться квалифицированным специалистом. Для получения дополнительной информации обратитесь к дилеру. ВНИМАНИЕ: ПЕРЕМЕЩЕНИЕ ИЛИ УСТАНОВКУ ЖКД МОНИТОРА СЛЕДУЕТ ВЫПОЛНЯТЬ ГРУППОЙ ИЗ ДВУХ ИЛИ БОЛЕЕ ЧЕЛОВЕК. Несоблюдение этой меры предосторожности может привести к падению ЖКД монитора и получению травмы.
6. Управление подключенным внешним оборудованием Вывод сигнала на необходимом внешнем оборудовании. 7. Настройте звук Сделайте регулировку понижая или повышая значение на сколько необходимо. 8. Для длиннопробежного соединения с помощью Ящика CAT5 Условия MDT421S может быть установлен в портретном положении при соблюдении следующих условий. Примечение: Ящик CAT5 предствляет собой опцион, предназначенный для MDT421S. Для детальной процедуры монтажа, смотрите руководство для потребителя Ящика CAT5 (опцион). Внимание: Портретное положение может быть полезным только при установке на стену или потолок.

Подсоединение к оборудованию с цифровым интерфейсом Соединение может быть сделано с оборудованием, оснащенным цифровым интерфейсом соответствующим стандарту DVI (Цифровой видео интерфейс). Подсоединение ЖКД монитора к компьютеру с цифровым выходом • • • • Для соединения разъёма RGB 2 IN (DVI-D) на ЖКД мониторе используйте кабель DVI-D. Присоединение DVD-проигрывателя с комбинированным выходом/выходом HDMI/выходом DVI При подсоединении DVD-проигрывателя к ЖКД монитору будет возможно отображать видеоизображения с DVD-дисков. Подсоединение ЖКД монитора к DVD-проигрывателю • • • Для подключения к разъему DVD/HD IN (BNC-разъем) на ЖКД мониторе нужно использовать соединительный кабель BNC (не входит в комплект поставки).
Cоединение с VCR/стереоусилителем К ЖКД монитору можно подсоединить VCR/стереоусилитель. Для получения информации больше смотрите руководство пользователя VCR/ стереоусилителя. Соединение ЖКД монитора с VCR/стереоусилителем • • • Для подсоединеня разъёма VIDEO IN (RCA, BNC или S-VIDEO) на ЖКД мониторе используйте видео-кабель или кабель S-video. Используйте раздельно доступный кабель RCA или кабель S-video. Для подсоединения разъёма AUDIO IN (RCA) на ЖКД мониторе используйте кабель RCA.
Основные операции Режимы питания (Питание ВКЛ и Питание ВЫКЛ) При включенном питании индикатор питания ЖКД монитора горит зеленым, а при выключенном - красным. Для включения и выключения питания можно использовать следующие три способа. 1. Нажать основной выключатель питания.

При этом на экране появится предупреждающее сообщение. POWER ON DELAY (ВРЕМЯ ЗАДЕРЖКИ ВКЛЮЧЕНИЯ) Позволяет настроить время ожидания при переходе от режима ожидания во включенный режим. “ВРЕМЯ ЗАДЕРЖКИ ВКЛЮЧЕНИЯ” может быть выбрано в диапазоне.
ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ < ОСТАТОЧНОЕ ИЗОБРАЖЕНИЕ > Имейте в виду, что в работе ЖК-мониторов возможно возникновение такого явления, как остаточное изображение. Этот эффект проявляется в том, что на экране монитора сохраняется остаточный след предыдущего изображения. В отличие от мониторов с электроннолучевыми трубками, на ЖК-мониторах эффект остаточного изображения обратим, но, тем не менее, следует избегать вывода на экран неподвижного изображения в течение длительного времени.
< PIP, POP и SIDE BY SIDE > В нижеследующей таблице указана комбинация входных сигналов, при которой режимы “PIP” и “POP” функционируют. Данные режимы, однако, не работают когда размер экрана установлен в режим “CUSTOM” или “REAL”.
Использование компьютера для управления мониторами При использовании компьютера для управления мониторами должно быть подготовлено прикладное прогрммное обеспечение вами. 1. Присоедините разъём RS-232C IN главного монитора с разъёмом RS-232C компьютера, как выше показано, при помощи кабеля RS-232C. Или при помощи кабеля САТ5 подсоедините разъём RS-232C компьютера к разъёму САТ5 IN Главного монитора через коробку САТ5-Тх ВОХ. 2.
Управление ЖКД монитором c помощью коробки дистанционного управления RS-232C/RS-485 Этот ЖКД монитор может управляться персональным компьютером, соединенным кабелем RS-232C или кабелем CAT5 через CAT5 Tx ВОХ (опционально) и CAT5 Rx ВОХ (опционально). С помощью компьютера можно управлять следующими функциями: • Включение и отключение питания • Переключение между входными сигналами Соединение Соединение при помощи RS-232C (Для кабеля RS-232C необходимо использовать кабель обратного типа.
3) Управляющая последовательность (1) Команда от компьютера к монитору посылается через 600 мс. (2) Монитор ответит командой возврата спустя 600 мс* после того, как команда была получена и декодирована. Если команда не была корректно принята, ЖК-монитор не отправит ответную команду. (3) Команда проверяется компьютером, который определяет, была ли выполнена отправленная команда. (4) Помимо команды возврата монитор может отправлять другие команды.

Устранение неисправностей Нет изображения • • • • • • • Кабель видеосигнала должен быть надежно подключен к плате видеоадаптера/компьютеру. Плата видеоадаптера должна быть надежно установлена в разъеме. Выключатель питания монитора на передней панели и выключатель питания компьютера должны быть установлены в положение ON (ВКЛ). Убедитесь, что на используемой плате видеоадаптера или в системе выбран поддерживаемый режим.
Нет звука • • • Проверьте, надежно ли подключен кабель громкоговорителя. Проверьте, не активизирована ли функция отключения звука. Проверьте, не установлен ли минимальный уровень громкости. Не работает пульт дистанционного управления • • • Проверьте состояние батареек пульта дистанционного управления. Проверьте, правильно ли установлены батарейки. Проверьте, направлен ли пульт дистанционного управления на дистанционный датчик монитора.
