Before Using the Handset
Functions of keys
You can perform the following operations by pressing
keys. (
: press shortly,
: hold down for over a second)
a tSpeedMenu/Start videophone/Scroll/Lower
left soft key
Displays Speed Menu.
Makes/answers videophone calls.
Scrolls by screen while viewing a mail or site.
Switches between upper/lower cases when
entering characters.
Performs the operation shown in the lower left of
the guide row.
Displays Speed Menu (when calling by voice).
b mMenu/Upper left soft/Silent Mode key
Displays the main menu.
Performs the operation shown in the upper left of
the guide row.
Sets/cancels Silent Mode.
c Speed Selector
You can rotate the Speed Selector to operate it. P26

Displays the redial data.
Switches between pages.
Moves the cursor rightward.
Sets/cancels IC Card Lock.
d pPhonebook/Scheduler/Upper right soft key
Displays the phonebook.
Performs the operation shown in the upper right
of the guide row.
Displays schedules.
e aMail/Scroll/Lower right soft key
Displays the Mail menu.
Scrolls by screen while viewing a mail or site.
Performs the operation shown in the lower right
of the guide row.
Performs Check i-mode Message.
f fPower/End key
Ends calls or functions in operation.
Holds incoming calls.
Cancels Secret Mode.
Shows/hides the custom standby display.
Turns the power on/off (when pressed for over 2
seconds).

Displays the channel list.

Deletes characters.
Returns to the previous screen.
Sets/cancels Self Mode.

Multiaccess and Multitask.
k CAnswer Machine/Shutter key
Displays the Answer Machine/Voice Memo menu.
Releases the shutter of the camera.
Stops ring alerts and alarms.
Activates Quick Record Message.
Activates Still Camera with the out-camera on.
Switches between normal display and anti-peeping
display (Only View) on the mail view screen.
C has 2 positions: half press and full press for
shooting still images with the auto focus. The feel
of pressing this key is different from other keys.

Sets/cancels Key Lock.
m gPushTalk button P91
Makes/answers PushTalk calls and speaks
during PushTalk.
Turns on/off the auto focus (when shooting still
image).
Displays the PushTalk phonebook.
*1 Lights or flashes when a call or mail is received, the
FOMA terminal is opened/closed, the Speed
Selector is rotated, during shooting with the camera,
etc. The lighting pattern and color can be set
(P148). Also, it flashes when there is new
information (P149) and lights in red during
charging.
*2 The typestyle of key characters is different
depending on the color of the FOMA terminal.
