❚ Get More SPL with the Overhung Surround
To boost SPL output, Pioneer engineers faced the challenge of increasing the cone
surface area while keeping the same size. The result is Pioneer’s new patent-
pending overhung surround design for the TS-W5000SPL. The wide-roll surround
extends over the typical gasket area, creating 22 % more cone surface, closer to a
38 cm subwoofer. More moving surface area achieves the higher sound pressure
levels you need to come out ahead.
❚ No “Burn” with Dual Ceramic-coated Voice Coils
To prep the TS-W5000SPL for +170 dB SPL drag races, Pioneer developed a new
patent-pending Ceramic-Coated Voice Coil wire that doubles the power handling
capability compared to conventional voice coils. There’s no overheating thanks to
the superb insulation properties of the ceramic coating, thus no short circuits or
“burn”. You can count on this sub to perform up to par and deliver a winning
moment — time after time.

❚ Boost Linearity with ADMG
The Aero-Dynamic Magnetic Gap (ADMG) of the
TS-W5000SPL is designed to overcome mechanical
and air pressure resistance typical in the +170 dB
environment. Each pole piece and top plate has an
air channel in a narrow magnetic gap, which
effectively reduces physical resistance by over 10 %.
This leads to greatly improved linearity at high
power input.
