U46MK2 MIXVIBES 1. Introduction Thank you for choosing the MIXVIBES U46MK2. The U46MK2 is an ideal mobile recording interface for both laptops and desktop computers. It offers a 4-in, 6-out multi-channel audio interface with a separate Mix output. Two Phono inputs make the unit a perfect portable solution for digital DJs, compatible with all current major DJ software applications. The U46MK2’s flexible 4 inputs enable you to record from a variety of sources.

Rear Panel 5 6 1 2 4 3 (1) External Power supply connector: If you use a microphone that requires phantom power, especially with a laptop computer, it’s strongly recommended to use a DC +9V/500mA adapter (not included). When you turn on the U46MK2 or when you turn on/off phantom power, the current peak level might go over 500mA. (2) USB connector: Connects the USB cable to the computer. (3) Input 1~4: The turntable inputs and line level inputs share the same connectors.
U46MK2 MIXVIBES 2.3. Connection with external devices The U46MK2 allows various multimedia uses. This means that there are many different ways to connect other devices to the U46MK2. The below figure describes which devices can be connected to the U46MK2.

Minimum system requirements Intel Pentium III 600MHz CPU or equivalent AMD CPU 256MB of RAM Direct X 8.1 or higher Microsoft Windows® XP or Windows® Vista, Mac OSX. One available USB port 3.2. Installation Before proceeding to driver installation, please locate your original Windows CD, as you may need it during installation.

Driver Installation After connecting and powering the U46MK2, your computer will automatically detect the U46MK2 as a USB Composite Device and will proceed with the installation. 1. To confirm the installation of the U46MK2, go to “Start-> Settings-> Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager”.
U46MK2 MIXVIBES 3. Install the U46MK2 driver. Insert the MIXVIBES driver CD in your CD Rom drive. Just click the “setup” icon. After that, if you see the message below, simply click “Yes.

(5) Config – SampleRate Sets the sample rate (44100 Hz or 48000 Hz). Important note Due to the limitations of the USB 1.
U46MK2 MIXVIBES Direct WIRE allows you to connect the INs and OUTs of your various audio devices and audio drivers. Example: In this case, the outputs of the MME drivers are connected to the inputs of the ASIO drivers of the U46MK2. Thus the sound played by the MME drivers can be recorded in ASIO mode.
U46MK2 MIXVIBES 5.2. Input Section 2 3 1 (1) Input This is where you can increase the input level of the analog input 1/2. The input level 3/4 is fixed at 0dB. The number on the bottom indicates the relative level in dB. (2) Input source display This is where you can check current input source selected by the input source selector on the front panel of U46MK2. Input CH 1/2 Input CH 3/4 (3) Monitor This is where you can adjust the input monitoring level of U46MK2.
U46MK2 MIXVIBES 1 5.3. Output Section 2 (1) Output 1/2, 3/4, 5/6 You can individually change the levels of all output channels by clicking and dragging the fader bars. The number on the bottom shows the relative amount in dB. You can also select mute button to mute each output channel. (2) Master Output You can adjust all input / output monitoring levels by clicking and dragging the Master fader. Again, the number on the bottom shows you the relative monitoring level in dB.
U46MK2 MIXVIBES 6. Application Setup This chapter contains basic configuration example with the MixVibes CROSS LE DJ Software. Please also refer to the manual of the audio software you use for detailed information. Important note Due to the limitations of the USB 1.1 driver, audio output at 48 kHz sample rate is limited to 4 channels. If you need better audio quality and don’t need all 6 outputs, you can choose the 48 kHz sample rate. If your setup requires all 6 outputs, you must choose the 44.
U46MK2 MIXVIBES 6.2. Latency setting on ASIO applications Clicking the ASIO Control Panel button (or Config) of ASIO applications will open the ASIO latency setting of the U46MK2. Run the Config/Latency menu to set the audio latency. Here you can choose between different buffer sizes. Typically a lower latency is good when working with software synthesizers or when you process audio signals from the audio inputs in realtime with your audio software.
U46MK2 MIXVIBES 6.3. MixVibes CROSS LE The U46MK2 includes the full version of MixVibes CROSS LE. Once CROSS LE is installed and launched, open the “File -> Preferences” menu and select the Audio panel as shown below: Again, due to the limitations of the USB 1.1 driver, audio output at 48 kHz sample rate is limited to 4 channels. If you need better audio quality and don’t need all 6 outputs, you can choose a 48 kHz sample rate. If your setup requires all 6 outputs, you must choose the 44.

Installation des pilotes Après avoir connecté et allumé l’U46MK2, votre ordinateur va automatiquement détecter l’U46MK2 comme un périphérique USB Composite et procédera à son installation. 1. Pour vérifier l’installation de U46MK2, allez dans ‘Démarrez->Paramètres-> Panneau de configuration -> Système -> Onglet ‘Matériel’ -> Gestionnaire de périphériques’.

En cliquant dessus, vous ouvrez le panneau de contrôle de l’U46MK2. 5.1. Barre des menus Le panneau de contrôle de l’U46MK2 possède un menu qui contient les informations de configuration. (1) File – Close Window (Fichier – Fermeture de la fenêtre) Remet le panneau de contrôle de l’U46MK2 dans la barre des taches de Windows.
U46MK2 MIXVIBES (1) Config – Mouse Wheel (Configuration – molette souris) Règle la vitesse de la molette de la souris pour le réglage des gains sur le panel board (2) Config – Latency (Configuration - Latence) Choisissez à quelle latence votre U46MK2 sera règlée. Il est conseillé de fixer la latence de départ à 256. (3) Config – Factory Default (Configuration – panel par défault) Réinitialise le panel board à sa configuration initiale.
U46MK2 MIXVIBES Le Direct WIRE vous permet de connecter les entrées et sorties de votre carte son et des différents pilotes entre eux. Exemple : Sur le schéma ci-dessous, la sortie (OUT) des pilotes MME sera connectée à l’entrée ASIO de votre carte. Ainsi le son joué par les pilotes MME pourra être enregistré en ASIO.
U46MK2 MIXVIBES 5.2. Les entrées 2 3 1 (1) INPUT (ENTREE) C’est l’endroit ou vous pouvez contrôler le niveau des entrées analogiques 1/2. Le niveau des entrées 3/4 est fixé à 0dB. Le nombre, sur le bouton, indique le niveau relatif en dB. (2) Input source display Permet de connaître le type de source d’entrée sélectionnée via l’interrupteur en face avant de l’U46MK2. Canaux d’entrée 1/2 Canaux d’entrée ¾ (3) MONITOR (ECOUTE) Ici, vous pouvez régler le niveau d’entrée de monitoring de l’U46MK2.

(2) MASTER (PRINCIPAL) Vous pouvez ajuster le niveau d’écoute de toutes les entrées/sorties en faisant glisser le curseur principal (MASTER).

Frontseite 1 2 4 3 (1)Kanal 1/2 (Ch 1/2) Eingangs Anschluss - Eingangsquellen Wahlschalter (MIC/LINE/PHONO): Hier können Sie die Eingangsquelle für den Kanal 1/2 auswählen. Wir empfehlen, den U46MK2 Ordner mit den gesamten Treiberdateien auf die Festplatte zu kopieren. U46MK2 MIXVIBES 5. U46MK2 Control Panel Nach einer erfolgreichen Installation der U46MK2 Hard- und Software, können Sie das MIXVIBES Icon unten rechts in der Taskleiste sehen. Wenn Sie auf das Icon klicken, öffnet sich das U46MK2 Control Panel. 5.1. Pull Down Menü Das U46MK2 Control Panel besitzt ein Pull Down Menü, welches das Konfigurationsmenü enthält. (1) File – Close Window Setzt das Control Panel des U46MK2 in die Windows Taskleiste zurück.
U46MK2 MIXVIBES (2) File – Exit: Schliesst das U46MK2 Control Panel. Sie können das Control Panel jedoch jederzeit durch drücken auf das MIXVIBES Icon in der Taskleiste reaktivieren. (1) Config – Mouse Wheel (Konfiguration – Scrollrad der Maus) Stellt die Geschwindigkeit des Scrollrads der Maus für die Einstellung des Gain ein. (2) Config – Latency (Konfiguration - Latenz) Wählen Sie die gewünschte Latenzeinstellung des U46MK2. Wir empfehlen, die Latenz zuerst auf 256 einzustellen.
U46MK2 MIXVIBES DirectWIRE® erlaubt, die Ein- und Ausgänge der verschiedenen Treiber der Soundkarte miteinander zu verbinden. Beispiel : Auf die unten stehende Abbildung, der Ausgang (OUT) der MEE Treiber werden zum ASIO Eingang des U46MK2 verbunden. Der von den MME Treibern abgespielte Klang kann dann in ASIO aufgenommen werden.

Dieser Pegel kann über den Fader sowohl mit dem Scrollrad der Maus, als auch mit den Cursor Tasten eingestellt werden, die Zahl unter den Regler zeigt den Pegel in dB. Sie können durch Betätigen des Mute Button den jeweiligen Kanal stummschalten. (2) Master Output Hier können Sie den Pegel des Ein-/ Ausgangsmonitoring einstellen.
U46MK2 MIXVIBES 6. Einstellungen in Anwendungen Dieses Kapitel beinhaltet ein Einstellungsbeispiel für Software-Anwendungen, hier für die MixVibes CROSS LE. Wichtiger Hinweis: Aufgrund der Beschränkung des USB 1.1 Treibers ist die Audioausgabe bei 48 kHz Sample Rate auf 4 Kanäle beschränkt. Wenn Sie die Audioqualität beibehalten möchten und nicht alle 6 Ausgänge benötigen, können Sie die 48kHz Sample rate belassen. Wenn Sie jedoch alle 6 Ausgänge brauchen, dann sollten einen Sample Rate von 44.
