User manual

a) Set the mounting position: A Q22M camera can be installed at the ceiling
or at a wall (Installation Quick Control,
Wall
or
Ceiling
option). Note that the
camera has different features that depend on the chosen setting.
b) Set the North direction: If the camera has been mounted to a ceiling, you
should set the North direction. "North" in this context does not refer to com-
pass North, it refers to the main direction of the camera, which is used to set
the remaining views (
East
,
South
and
West
) automatically. This step is espe-
cially important if you would you like to use the
Surround
mode (see the fol-
lowing section).
1) Use the corresponding Quick Controls to set the camera to the proper
mounting position (
Ceiling
or
Wall
) and to the
Normal
display mode (see
section2.1.1).
2) Rotate the live image to the desired direction by clicking into the live
image using the mouse or by moving a joystick that is attached to the
computer.
Mouse: Clicking into the image will rotate the image so that the clicked
point moves to the top.
Joystick: Tilting to the right/left will rotate the image accordingly.
3) Store the desired North direction by using the Installation Quick Control
and the
Set North
command.
c) Activate recording: To do so, you can either use the Quick Control Record-
ing>
Recording on
or by clicking on the Arm& Record softbutton. The cam-
era is now ready to record events (alarms) to its factory-installed internal SD
card (only Secure models).
d) Set the image recording method (optional): The camera can either store
the image section currently displayed in the live image (live image record-
ing, default setting) or the full sensor image (Full Image Recording) that is
independent of the vPTZ view currently displayed. Open Setup Menu>
Recording to set the recording method.
1) Full Image Recording
Off
(live image recording)
Advantages
The stored video/image data can use a lower resolution, which in turn
reduces the required bandwidth.
Searching video/image sequences in the stored data is faster and
requires only little bandwidth.
Disadvantages
When searching video/image sequences, you can only see a smaller
image section and not the full sensor image.
The event that triggered a video motion (VM) window may not be in
the recorded sequences as it had not been in the live image at the
time.
