Storage Requirements and Life Expectancy of SD Cards
The life expectancy of an SD card increases proportionally to the storage capacity,
since the camera software will execute fewer write/delete cycles on each storage
cell. The first delete operation will start once the SD card has been filled to capacity
(first full cycle).
The following tables contain estimated values for the expected storage require-
ments in connection with image resolution, frame rate and video codec used (M-
JPEG or MxPEG) as well as the expected life of two SD cards with different capaci-
ties (16GB and 1GB).

Caution
It is recommended to use only high-grade SD cards that are new.
For information on recommended SD cards, please see
www.mobotix.com.
For security applications, it is highly recommended to exchange
the SD card against a new one after one year of operation.
When storing to an SD card, you should limit event recording to
the
minimum
required frame rate instead of the default
Max fps
setting (Setup Menu> Recording).
