3.5.3 Activating the Recording on an SD Card
Follow these steps to activate the recording to an SD card that has already been
MxFFS-formatted (Admin Menu> Storage on External File Server/ Flash
Device):
1) Make sure that an SD card is in the SD card slot of the MOBOTIX camera.
2) Make sure that the SD card has been MxFFS-formatted (see section3.5.2,
Formatting an SD Card With the MxFFS Format ).
3) Activate the SD Flash Card option.
4) Click on Set, then on Close and store the configuration to the camera's per-
manent memory.
5) Reboot the camera (Admin Menu> Reboot Camera).
6) Once the camera has rebooted, make sure that the camera shows the
symbols in the live image. If this is the case, the camera uses the
SD card as recording target. If not, you can activate the recording (see
below).
Activating the Recording
If the symbols are not visible in the camera's live image after rebooting,
you need to activate the recording using one of the following methods.
• In the web browser: Click on the Arm& Record button, then on OK to auto-
matically activate recording.
• In the web browser: Set the Recording Quick Control to
Recording on to
manually activate recording.
• In the web browser: Open the Setup Menu> Recording dialog to manually
activate recording.
• MxEasy: You can use the calendar features of MxEasy to activate recording
based on time and date information (see also section3.3.4,
The First Image
in MxEasy
).
Activating Encryption and Authentication
If security is an issue, you can opt to store only encrypted video data on the SD
card. If you would like to use encryption, make sure that you activate this option
when formatting the card. Note that you also need to enter an Authentication
password. Switching from encrypted to unencrypted storage (and back) is not pos-
sible without reformatting the SD card.
3.5.4 Accessing the Data on an SD Card
To access the stored image and video sequences on the SD card, you can use the
camera's Playback screen. The following options are available:
