3.8 Important Notes
3.8.1 Weatherproofness
The MOBOTIX D12 has been certified weatherproof according to IP 65 when
installed with the wall mount (absolutely dustproof, resistant against water jets).
Without the wall mount, the D12 reaches IP54.
3.8.2 Passwords for the Administration Menu and ISDN Dial-In
Accessing the administration area of the camera (Admin Menu button) is only pos-
sible after entering a user name and password.
• Factory default user: admin
• Factory default password: meinsm
The Quick Installation wizard will appear automatically when accessing the
Administration Menu for the first time. It provides an easy method to adjust the
basic camera settings to the current application scenario. For security reasons, it
is highly recommended to change the default administrator password after
the camera has been configured properly.
Dialing into the camera via ISDN is protected by a separate password. When set-
ting up a dial-in connection from a computer, you need to provide this information.
• Factory default user: linux
• Factory default password: tux
Enter the user name and password exactly as shown above. Note that all entries
are case-sensitive.
3.8.3 Irreversibly Deactivating the Microphone
Deactivating a camera's microphone may become necessary in order to protect
the privacy of persons at a workplace or for other reasons. You can permanently
and irreversibly deactivate the microphone in the Admin Menu> Loudspeaker
and Microphone dialog.

D12 Camera Manual Part 1
The microphone can be ir-
reversibly deactivated!
Make sure that you store information on user names and pass-
words in a secure place. If you loose the administrator password
and cannot access the Administration menu, the password can
only be reset at the factory. This service is subject to a service
charge!
This deactivation is permanent and cannot be reversed even by
MOBOTIX engineers. Deactivating the microphone will also deacti-
vate all features that use the camera's microphone.
